Good to know, it would be a darn shame if he was eaten lol.

And there is something about leather...

@illysArt - You have a good eye. Your work is dark, moody, and (if you don't find it insulting) at times, grim--all in good ways. You should come join us in the new user challenges, that is unless you think that's too remedial for your talent. I only say because I had kind of a similar story, sort of. My membership here at Daz is really old, but I allowed fear of pain to hold me back for years. Now I'm learning that pain can be traded for skill, knowledge, and more. Anyway, I think you show great promise, and it would be lovely to have you throw in with everyone on the challenge. I've learned so much in the two months I've been involved. This month is an open render challenge, so you could do anything. The rules are posted, but the main thing is the work cannot have been displayed somewhere else previously and must be created for the challenge. Anyway, I hope you don't find this insulting, but if you're interested please join us.

Thanks for the suggestion, @Wanderer. I was afraid people would not want me there because I've been a member for a long time. I will check it out. And for the record, I'm not real easy to offend. :)

    @IceDragonArt, I totally agree!

No, listen, @illysArt, if I can be there and @Diomede, you can, too.

I have started a graphic novel with a friend. This is Bren and his dog Mr. Bytes after completing a job.

@illysArt - Thanks for the heads up on this image. I like these two. I love tossing light around my images, and I want to rush in there and toss light around in yours as well--BUT I don't know that I could capture the mood of your images--and I certainly couldn't capture your characters, and I think the two are woven together: the light and the characters combine in your images to communicate something intangible. I think you've got a great eye for expressions and natural poses. Well done. I'm not a trained artist, however, and so my input may not be as valid perhaps--but I know what I like even if I don't always know why.

@Wanderer, I'm not trained either. I just know what I like to see. When I don't like it, then I go searching for help so I can make it work. I really appreciate your encouragment.

Nice images so far! Keep up the good work :)

@mori_mann, thank you! It's good to hear the images are well received. I will try to do more very soon.

You do them in your own pace, and do be careful to not overwork your hand. *goes back to skulking and watching the nice art in here*

Thank you @Carola O, It's been odd. I am hoping to get out of this cast in a couple of weeks. Then it's surgery for something else. UGH.

Looking forward to seeing your graphic novel develop.  The first render has already caught my interest.

  • WandererWanderer Posts: 957

@illysArt - Missed the news about your cast. Hope you're feeling better soon. Hope the next thing goes well also.

  • ArtsyDragonArtsyDragon Posts: 682

@Wanderer, Thanks. I have 2 more weeks until they let me out of the wrist cast. I can't wait! The other thing is a little touchier. It's an extraction to be sure there is no Big C in me. No confirmation there is, but the docs don't want to say there isn't. So we're being safe. Nothing to make a big deal about.

@IceDragonArt, Thanks for the encouragement. I am playing around with Bren. He is getting amake over. Still using Kyle for G8M though. Love that dude.

Great Bucky, and really love the whimsey render.

  • ArtsyDragonArtsyDragon Posts: 682

@Worlds_Edge, Thank you! I'm obsessed with the Winter Soldier and Bucky Barnes. I'll be doing more of him soon. And everyone needs a little Whimsy!

A new look for Bren. I like this one better. Thoughts and comments? A close up is attached.

As far as the story goes, here the hacker is hard at work. Mr. Bytes is walking the perimeter to ensure Bren is not interrupted.

This is one of my favs... Raelyn

He's a martial artist trained since a young age. He is in a sci-fi verse I write with a friend of mine. Raelyn is more androgynous than male, is comfortable in a woman's kimono as he is shown below in armor. He has many adventures and can be quite comical at times.

Love this render, Ilys.  He's a lovely character.

Hello there, @Carola O! Mr Bytes really makes the Bren character stand out. I love that dog! I want to create more poses for him. He's a delight to work with.

I really like the latest Bren.  The hair looks really good on him.

@IceDragonArt, your opinion is also very important to me. Thank you!

Another look at Bren and Mr. Bytes in a less dramatic moment:

@illysArt - Love what you're doing. Keep it up.

  • Carola OCarola O Posts: 3,823

Interesting moment there, it's like Bren is asking mr. Bytes what mishief they should be up to next, or perhaps going over the plans for the next job or such :)

also, what is the outfit you use for him? *Curious*

That is really well posed.  Looks entirely natural.
