Oh wow, this month topic really leaves me in the rain... never been able to do much abstraction, so I might go for odd mainly. I wish I could do some mandelbulb stuff or somthing of that sort but i never managed to start learning that.
Deeleelaw57 set the standard high enough as it is, those are some cute oddities :D
@Ivy that backgound is somthing fractal as well, right? very cool work
@bigh I love what you did there, it's reminding me of something but I can't put my finger on it
thanks guys
Abstract indeed ;) I love anything with fractals. They are mezmorizing... Thanks for sharing Ivy :)
I agree with what the others say... It's so abstract that it is odd too. I love it! Thanks for sharing Bigh!
@Ivy Superb! and right into the this month theme!
@bigh That's different! And odd and abstract. Great image!
I got the idea from a fashion mag! Hope you like it
Thanks Guys
@Linwelly
The background is one of 4 i made in photoshop using Rons Leaf Brushes. in 6 layers on a white canves . I used High Def colors with a bloom filter i got from Google Nix Collections ( https://nikcollection.dxo.com/download/) to bring out the colors It does look like its created with fractal obj's but its really just a photoshop image i through together,.
That is very creative. great Idea for odd and Abstract. :) 10 plus stars
I agree with Ivy xmasrose this is very well done.
Thank you very much Ivy and deeleelaw57. I am so glad you like it.
its a good idea - well done
Really tough challenge for 3D this month, Llola. I'm pretty sure I could take my camera out and find many shots that would fill the bill. But to create it with 3D objects? Much tougher. I've rendering something now, though. I took Dee's advice to heart: It's probably the first render I've ever done that doesn't have a story attached! I'll post it later today.
@deeleelaw57, Looks like the sun is coming out again… Your image made me smile! Love the eyes on those whatchamacallits.
@Ivy, Wow. Love the background. You have a wonderful touch with Photoshop. And I don't think it's odd for a gal to create sexy gal images. We have so much practice with ourselves, and we know the difference between sexy and slutty. (Am I allowed to use that word in these forums?)
@bigh. Your image is actually quite amazing, imo. I love the black and white line drawing background. It appears to be nothing at first, but looking closer, one can see buildings, chimneys and smoke, even clouds. What a wonderful contrast for the full color objects: some sort of flying machine and a very alien-looking settlement. Kudos!
xmasrose, Very clever! The pattern is mesmerizing. Every time I see this image, I stare at it for minutes. Just one question: When do you have time to read a fashion mag? (I would think between 3D art and shopping at Daz, you wouldn't have any spare time…)
thank you
@bigh Thank you
@L'Adair Thank you! Looking forward to 48h days
Not sure if this counts as Abstract but it sure is odd to see Twin Elephants in an alley way!
works for me !
Isle Of Fae
The original image is very large, 3K x 2K pixels. You can find it on the Gallery Page.
Saphirewild, It is odd and could have an abstract meaning. If they were a married couple and owned this house in Phoenix Az and their next door neighbors were a couple of old stubborn mules.
Non the less still very well done.
I think the asymmetrical pattern of the cobbles could be considered abstract, and unless they're in Africa, it is definitely odd to find elephants in an alleyway! Well done.
L.Adair, You must have picked and consumed some of those magic mushrooms before doing this one. The tree is either grumpy with you for picking his fungi or the Fairy for trying to catch the living free floating bubble. I see a continuing and interesting story for this wonderful bit of art. And it could all start with the tiny fairy on the mushroom.
What is that alley way? Quite often, grounds with patterns like that tend to look extremely repetitive, to the point that they show an almost plaid look from further away. The cobblestones do not have that effect. The worset I've seen this happen is on grassy grounds. Sometimes they actually do appear to be a plaid design!
Anyway, very nice image!
Dana
Thats so awesome I just love Elephants grea job :D
This definitely fits into the unusually category nice work L'Adair
Thank You @DanaTa!
Thanks so much @Ivy
@deeleelaw57, Thank you. No mushrooms, though. Just "Try this. Try that. Ooo, what happens if I do this…?" until I liked what I saw… but the bigger question is, did I make you smile?
@bigh, Thank you. Glad you liked it.
@Ivy, It means a lot to me that you liked it, having seen a lot of your excellent fantasy renders. Thank you.
L'Adair you not only got a big ear to ear smile lasting a very long time, it started and ended with a wow. With an extra little smile for the tiny naked fariy.
Now that put a big ear to ear smile on my face! Still there, in fact!
I actually thought about making the larger fairy nude, (who's using her magic to harvest water from the pond,) and then posting the image in the PFDLives thread, but I didn't like the image as much with her nude.
Awesome work so far, everyone!
Still trying to get the brain to cough something up. So far, nothing. But there's a bit of February left, so who knows :)
Not sure it counts as abstract, but a winged guy with horns, resting on an unusual kind of structure should count as a little bit odd ;)
