Corrupted Genesis base character (FIXED... AGAIN)

Hope someone can help me... I bought the new Harleigh last night and loaded her into Daz... now ALL my Genesis characters have Harleigh and Victoria 4 in them. I can't get Genesis back to default. This has happened before with another character I made... the only way I got rid of it was when the new version of DAZ 4.6 came out. Uninstalling program and reinstalling doesn't help. Hope someone can help me... :) thank you.

To get Genesis back you need to install "Genesis Essentials" again ( in the Daz Studio Library)
I will try that.. but last time even that didn't work... (crosses fingers)
NOPE.. didn't work... It got rid of Harleigh.. but still has Victoria 4 body on all my Genesis characters :(
If you have any other genesis related products, install those as well.
I have HUNDREDS of Genesis products.. it will take me DAYS to reinstall everything.. there HAS to be a better way... :(

Is this when you load a new genesis or when you start the program? if it is on start, check what is loading as start scene.

I have my daz set up for blank work area when I start up the program.. This is whenever I load a new genesis... FREAK... DAVID... STEPHANIE... VICTORIA... SAM/SADIE... any GENESIS character now has Victoria 4 body added to it... anything with a Genesis Base.
I see the problem, I hadn't installed that one yet before.
By uninstalling LY Harleigh it works again.
Simple as that, I'll file a bug report on it.
No need to reinstall or deinstall anything. But I think you should report a Bug to DAZ. My guess is that the Character morph was saved with the character Dialed. Which result in it beeing loaded and applied when Loading Genesis
To be sure that the problem is that, you can check in the parameter Tab in "Currently Used". If you see a V4 or Raleigh or anything just after loading Genesis base, then that's it
Simple way of getting it back to Genesis default is to set all the morph sliders back to 0 or simply do a "Zero Figure" on Genesis
If you want to definitely correct the Problem I can tell you how if you know how to use the Property/Hierarchy editor or we can also use a notepad and change some values but you'll have to help me by searching in your files because I don't have your product
I'd rather get it corrected by DAZ as other people may have the problem too if it really is a bug from DAZ side
I installed it genesis loaded weird.
I uninstalled it and Genesis loaded correct.
Now I see there is an update to it so maybe that update will do the trick.
Install the LY Harliegh Genesis Update and all will be good.

Problem 1... when I click on CURRENTLY USED... Victoria 4 does NOT show up... but when I check the sliders... she's on at 100 percent.
Problem 2... the ZERO FIGURE works fine for THIS project but if I load any previous projects with Genesis in them the Victoria 4 body is added and I can't ZERO the figure or else it zeros my poses.. expressions.. etc.
ughh... I hate to be a pain... sorry. Leave it to me to have odd things happen to :(

The Harleigh update was installed and didn't help either.. probably cause I was corrupted before the update came about... (Sighs)... not sure what to do now...

Weird, as I did get a "currupt" genesis when it was installed, OK, when uninstalled and OK after the update.
What else did you installed recently (DIM has a very good sort by install date).
You haven't installed any free morphs from ShareCG?

No not installed any free morphs from ShareCG... Everything was ok. til I installed Harleigh last night :( Before Harleigh I installed the Shock theraphy poses in the morning... Daz was working fine.. then last night Harleigh download.. and all messed up. I did NOT get any error messages either... installed just fine.. but when I went to load a plain BOY genesis next to Harleigh HE rezzed as Harleigh :( I knew I was messed up then... I checked multiple characters and a few past genesis projects... and they are ALL coming up with Victoria 4 now added to them :( I'm sunk!
Hi Wendy.. reinstalling Harleigh didn't work for me.. I'm gonna try reinstalling the Victoria 4 next, maybe THAT will help... (fingers crossed)

Very Odd. You may have installed something else that also made that. Bad luck.
Can you check in Parameter Tab that you still have nothing dialed but this timle, before checking the "currently used' can you check the "show hidden property" to be sure nothing hidden is dialed?
try the other suggestion in data files maybe
(substitute your problem character for Stephanie of course)

Clicked HIDDEN PROPERTIES... then CURRENTLY USED... nothing is showing.. but when I look at sliders.. Victoria 4 is at 100percent :(
I haven't loaded anything else from anywhere else... Daz was working fine til I added Harleigh :( I got so frustrated last night that I turned off computer and went to bed... I couldn't sleep... I woke up early .. turned on computer thinking maaaaaaaaybe it would miraculously be fixed... It wasn't :(

The method posted by Murgatroyd is the right one. Your problem will be to locate the morph that is making the problem. And I don't think it's stephanie 5
Certainly something you intalled yesterday or today
So my advice would be first to do a search in your "My library" for files and folders that were modified since yesterday. Depending on the results you can then narrow your search for the culprit
If the Victoria 4 iss et to 100% and isn't showing in Used in the Parameters pane then its default value has been set to 1 instead of zero, you need to reset it, either by reinstalling the morph, by resetting the default value by clicking the gear on the slider, picking Parameter Settings, and changing both Default and value to 1 then using File>Save as>Support Asset>Save Modified Assets... and making sure you have only the Victoria 4 morph listed - if anything else is listed Cancel, then zero Genesis and try again.
ok.. Here's my update...
Since Victoria 4 shapes were my problem I uninstalled them... No luck.. HOW she was still showing up with it being uninstalled i'll never know... Like I said.. leave it to me to have unusual problems... So.. I tried the..
Manual fix:
Locate the offending morph file (e.g. My Library/data/DAZ 3D/Genesis.dsf)
Open it in a text editor.
(If it’s gibberish, rename it to .zip (DONE), unzip it (WOULDN'T LET ME UNZIP... SAYS NOT A VALID ZIP FILE), rename the resulting file to .dsf, and open that one (RENAMED THE ZIP BACK TO DSF.)
Find the line that says “value” : 1, (or possibly some other nonzero value)... NOT ABLE TO DO SINCE I COULDN'T OPEN THE ZIP FILE.
Change the 1 to a 0 (NEVER GOT THIS FAR.. COULDN'T UNZIP). Make sure you don’t do anything to the space before the number, or the comma after it.
Save.
I renamed the DSF to ZIP then back to DSF on both the GENESIS AND VICTORIA 4... and.....
I'm not sure what did it.. but my Genesis is back to normal.. sheesh... So far so good (knocks on wood)

p.s. I'm still scared to open Harleigh again :( Hope they fixed her.
My Library/data/DAZ 3D/Genesis.dsf isn't the affected file, the file with the stuck morph would be in the Data folder - and it's possible you had two of it, in different content directories, which would explain the uninstall not helping.
I'm not sure Richard... leave it to me to have a problem NO one else has... (sighs) Not sure what I did to fix it.. but I have fingers crossed it stays fixed.. :) Thank you for your help.

Just to double check. Your problem with Harleigh has been solved?
I posted a quickie solution in another thread. I'll include it here, but using the LYHarleigh genesis update would be best.
You can edit in a text editor the LY_Harleigh_Body.dsf located in the data folder. (daz3d:genesis:base:morphs:Lyoness:LY_Harleigh)
Line 32 says: “value” : 1,
change that to:
“value” : 0,
and the Harleigh genesis problem will be fixed.
Hi Lyoness... yes I think so... I'm keeping my fingers crossed... I had to reinstall Victoria 4 shapes for genesis too (if you read above you will see what I did.. hope it makes sense).. and to be honest.. I don't have a text editor.. it took me a while to figure out HOW to open up my DSFs in notepad... and there are no lines... the text is all jumbled up..so no line 32... I'm so lost sometimes... I was able to see the txt of Harleigh.dsf and I think I've got it... I was able to find the value in Notepad and it says 0... yay... Thank you :)
a text editor is the same thing as notepad.
there are lots of freebie ones that are better when you are interested in upgrading your editor.
I probably could have saved you time and mayhem if you had emailed me to begin with. I could have given you the fix right away.
Also I had posted the fix in the forum yesterday. So if you had done a Harleigh search, you would have found it, I'm not in the forums very often but I do keep track of my products and always try to help out my customers.

To tell you the truth last night I wasn't sure WHAT the problem was.. I thought... I... had done something wrong... I was up pretty late and my judgement isn't worth much past 12midnight. I was hoping it would have fixed itself overnight... I am lost when searching forums... I'm not the kind of person to complain.. I didn't even think to write you... I thought... I... was doing something wrong... I still have a LOT to learn about DAZ and forums. But I keep trying :) Thank you for creating such a lovely character!
