So, I was futsing about with Orrin's skin settings, because I'm vaugely uninspired and his settings are weird anyways. And the detail on his skin is impressive. Maybe it's the lighting, maybe it's the shadows, I don't know. I just think it's neat. And even just a little of Dark Guard's HD morph dialed in gives a nice vascularity. Anyways. The tattoos don't come with him they're from LIE Tattoo presets G3

  • So there's a really cool new jacket for men over at Renderosity by zoro_d. I can't link it, but it really nice and it's only $5.75 right now. I used it here on my lovely Orrin based character along with pants also by zoro_d, boots by Slide3D and a free pair of gloves, also from Rendo. I really find it interesting that there's so much nice male stuff over at Rendo. It pleases me, since daz won't cater to my interests.

That's a sensitively composed image. I like it. Really captures the essentials with the minimal composition.

Thank you. I was feeling pretty down that day and needed a hug myself.

Then that must be what came across and gave it authenticity!

Thanks for the head's up, that's a great leather jacket! And a nice render!

I wish it were a little more punk and a little less Elvis in Vegas though (the jacket, not your render.)

I bought Modern Museum a really long time ago, but never really rendered it because my previous computer couldn't even begin to handle it. But today I decided to dust it off and make it a fine art museum, by getting rid of most of the sculptures and adding paintings from every other product I own that happens to have paintings in it. I even pulled the paintings from Studio Paris and took them into blender and cut out individual ones to use. With the addition of two fully dressed figures I figured it would be like 11gb of vram, but to my surprise it only used about 4.5! I am very pleased and after toning down the shinyness of the pillars and floor, i got this:

Good I think, but at only 4.5gb of vram used I may try and add another figure or two in the background to fill things out a bit and re-render it.

I am loving the rendering artwork you've been putting out- just haven't been able to pop in and put that in the thread.  Makes me want to go back and do more story art with the massive list of characters that my partner and I talk about frequently. :)

  • @DarwinsMishap Thank you so much! Coming from you, I have to say this is a high compliment! laugh

  • I added 4 more figures, three g3 and one g2 figure, dressed and stripped out as many image maps that wouldn't be seen or weren't really needed owing to how out of focus they were. And it still is only using 5.9gb of my 6gb of vram. O_o I honestly cannot believe I've managed to render this many dressed figures in a complete environment all at the same time. But it definitely looks more natural with background extras. I am pleased.

I'm working on another freebie. It's supposed to be a motel room, but I have to decide how much detail I really want to put into it. I know for sure, I still need to do curtains for the window and a shower curtain for the bathroom, but I'm trying to figure out how I can make them dforce-able. It'll be an interesting exercise.

Oh yeah, also a custom texture map for the AC display and some kind of painting for the wall over the bed. But that bit will be easy. Also these renders are from Blender.

^ is it possible that there's something odd going on with the wallpaper? It seems to stretch in different directions depending on the wall.

yeah, that texture was just a place holder, it's a wallpapertexture from textures.com. i changed it to something with stripes so I could make sure all the inner wall UVs were going in the same direction.

I got a bit distracted from my motel room, with a challenge over on DA "Thieves, Spies and Rogues". And It features Leo!

And Elijah was feeling frisky. wink

And I have a render of Diego cooking, I'll post that when it's done. I rather like that character. He has a nice nose.

I'm thinking I might do a series of the Red Dead Redempion 2 characters. With a few tweaks to his face Diego makes the perfect Javier.

    And I've already done Dutch.

I have been working on Arthur, but I can't quite get him where i want. And *gasp*, if I do decide to commit to this series, and do all the hero characters, I'll have to render some women! Shocking, I know. But I just might. Anyways. Click the images to embiggen if interested.

I watched "Batman Hush" last night and was sort of inspired. I like that version of Batman. This is not exactly Batman though. Maybe more Bruce. And he could be looking at Selina Kyle(Catwoman) or Dick Grayson(Nightwing), depending on what floats your boat. I have a "full" version that I might post over on my DA. But I don't know. Nice renders!

Not sure what's going on with Jonah's hair, it looks a little doughy?

It's probably the hair shader. i don't think I clicked the hair translucency setting. IDK. It's one of those multilayer super customizable hair shaders, that I frankly find confusing. Or the image compression daz is using on the website is destroying the detail in his hair, because my locally saved file doesn't look like that.

    hmmmm...

    ...testing

yeah it's definitely the image compression. This is a snip from my locally saved file as a png and it looks so much better. WTF?

I've recently had problems with shoddy image compression in the DAZ gallery as well... I wonder if they changed something recently, or if I'm only noticing now.

Compression aside, I don't think that's the best shader for that hair. Obviously just a subjective opinion. Love the image as a whole, your Tarzan is very sexy!

I appreciate it. I guess I'll just have to start using png to upload to the gallery here.

  • Figured these two should make it official. Click to embiggen if interested.
