    The bright circle on the right gives the textured preview. This is a textured preview that uses OpenGL, so it's not going to be as accurate as the full raytraced render. To match the scene lighting you can click the circled up-arrow icon to open the Interactive Renderer and set the Assembly room view to use the scene lights instead of the default light map. Things you change in the Interactive Renderer do not have any effect on the render room settings. It only effects the Assembly room view!!!

    Looks like you have quite high reflection on the skin - not sure if Skin Doctor will sort this but if not you can set it to zero by editing each shader. Once you have edited one, you can copy it to each material zone with the same prefix number, so all the body zones have the same shader, and all the limbs another.

    I am unaware of how to activate the plugin... (skin doctor)

    Skin Doctor is one of my favorite plugins of all time, and very easy to use. First in the 'instances' tray select the 'model' of your character, then click on the Edit menu, scroll down to 'Fenric' and then one of the choices should be 'Skin Doctor'. Click on that and it will automatically change the shaders of your character.

    It will change all the shaders of your character to be much more friendly in Carrara. I think the skin settings it uses are superb, the eye shaders it makes are workable, but I tend to tweak them to my preference in the texture room.

    I saw your post yesterday while I was at work and almost answered then, but because I was at work and not in front of my computer I didn't want to get it wrong going just from my memory :)
