I though I'd read to choose 5, but it seems that's just been changed to read 4, so I'm dropping choice 2 from my list - sorry Stezza!
Sorry for the confusion, I thought I caught my error in time. There are 4 places the community votes for and then our PA Sponsor, Vyusur, will choose one image for a prize donated by her.
As usual it was very difficult to choose - these were all great entries.
Entry #: 2 Title:Somedays Are Like this Artist: headwax-carrara
I like the wild patterns that make up the walls, the framed pictures of patterns, and the way the room seemingly falls away into darkness. What a wonderful strange place to visit.
Entry #: 14 Title: What a Butte Cafe ! Artist: Bunyip02
I'm drawn to the lighting and colors and the main complex structure of the scene with its intricate refelctions and transparencies.
Entry #: 5 Title: Unstructuring an Epoch Artist:evilproducer
Great lighting and a strong composition - I like the diagonals and the repetition of the those giant mountain shapes.
Entry #: 6
Title: When Structures are becoming unstructured.
Artist: Varsel
I like the mood created as we get a peek inside this monolithic structure littered by pieces of crumbling debris. I also like the lightbeam illuminating the tree - a sense of renewal and hope.
Thanks to everyone who has voted so far. If you haven't had a chance to vote yet you still have one more day to peruse and admire the great artwork here and get your votes in. Thanks!
Sorry for the delay. Internet was out for several days.
Entry #5
Title: Unstructuring an Epoch
Artist: evilproducer
Comment: Great ligjhting, poses, and meteors. Too many trees on the right (for me), but everything else was perfect.
Entry #7
Title: Building Blocks
Artist: Stezza
Comment: His usual interesting perspective, characters, and poses. Killer concrete shader!
Entry #14
Title: What a Butte Cafe !
Artist: Bunyip02
Comment: Very elegant and pretty
Entry #22
Title: Ear Holder
Artist: Vyusur
Comment: Awesome creativity and use of shaders. A great example of Octane's power as well.
At least four others were seriously in the running. Wildly varied entries, which made judging harder than ever. Congrats to DesertDude for inspiring such a menagerie!
Thank you all Carrara community for participating in this friendly community challenge, voting, participating and being overall Super Awesome.
I feel so privelaged to be part of this community.
Earlier today I started tabulating votes and realized there are...many Ties that can't be realized with coin tosses as per the rules I set out. So, around noon today I called my neighbor/landlord who is a great friend who lives in the front house here on the property and asked if he would pick numbers out of a hat to solve the multiple ties...he has no idea what Carrara is and only has a vague idea about 3D assets...agh,,,you get the point...
Believe me it kills me this part but I don't know what else to do. There are multiple ties for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place. It's past midnight here in the US but I'll see him early in the morning around 7-8-ish.
Ties are always an issue. With more votes, there are usually less ties. When I was hosting, I would sometimes need to PM forum members to get them to vote. The general goal was to have about as many voters as there were entries.
Another idea, as the host, is to not vote unless there is a need to break ties.
Whatever. In my view, there is no perfect solution, or even a clear winner in the popularity contest part of the Challenge . It's very subjective, but still fun. We just do the best we can. :)
Proposals for improvements for next round
-Longer voting periods
-Ask the Bryce fans to vote (since they ask Carrara fans sometimes)
-PM as UB suggested
-Ask in other Carrara forums?

Hi all, here are the results:
1st - #22 Vyusur "Ear Holder"
2nd - #4 Headwax "Flesh and Bones"
3rd - #6 Varsel "Structures are becoming unstructured"
4th - #9 Stezza "Building Dominoes"
Vyusur chose Stezza's Entry #10 "Random Guy Constructing With Lego" for the PA sponsor prize.
There was a 5 way tie for 2nd place and a 3 way tie for 3rd and 4th place. My neighbor picked the entry numbers from a cup to break the ties.
Congratulations to the winners. I will PM you with required details.
Thank you all for voting and participating - awesome work!
And thanks to DAZ3D and Vyusur for being sponsors!
