If you didn't notice it, the Estal Hair is for Genesis 2 and Victoria 4, and is a DAZ3D item so you can use it for your March Madness rewards or your monthly PC Club coupon. Love this hair- nice and tousled, goes on without any adjustments being needed. Right now it's showing 51% off and a deal at $7.33

Also remember Lantios Lights gives you the option to load lights separately so you can make fun combinations!

Take a look at the fashion poses, they aren't stiff like you might assume. The hands to the head make great starting poses from which you can adjust to other poses.

So far as Lex goes, still can not get the V4 purple swimsuit off of her! This is shown out of the box, for folks who don't like the big botox lips, you can easily adjust those. Her eyebrows don't show very well here, but you'll love them- VERY natural looking.

Take a look in her textures folder and see what the torso texture looks like.

tjohn-Nope. I already mentioned the location of the files, but thanks for looking them up. I mentioned that no matter which way I went in (from Products or from the file location given) all I have is head and body, and body isn't changing it. Even using the remove option doesn't do squat.

Did you look at the texture JPG file and see what it looks like? It could be that you're missing the "Natural" texture, or that there is none. Or, you may need to manually change the texture in the Surfaces tab.

    @Novica
Do you use DIM to install? Use DIM to uninstall Lex. and then reinstall Lex (it will be in the ready to install pane).
Sometimes DIM can be quirky and not install all the components correctly (happened to me a few times).

I'm not very good with files (putting THAT mildly) but when I right click on the 1 Lex Body MOR. pz2 and go to file location, of course it says it can't be read. I did go into the C>Users>Public Documents>MyDaz3dLibrary and into Runtime>textures, and there's no Lex. Where exactly are the textures if not there? I uninstalled and reinstalled, no luck, nothing new popped up. May try it manually.

You may be missing the texture files, or misplaced them. Either that, or they're under the Vendor's name first ie (Runtime>Textures> "Vendor's name"> Lex. You could do a "Search" on your computer to find the Lex Textures folder. I've had to do that a few times myself.

I was able to buy Lex for about $3. I'll download in a bit and see if I can find her. :)

I did it manually to see what files were there, and also checked under Runtime>textures>Thornworks>Lex and its showing the body (minus any swimsuit of course) so I don't know why there's nothing happening. The manual download files are the same as the already DIM installed files. The only two options I have for the body are the 1 Lex Body MOR.pz2 and 1 V4 Body Zero.pz2. Both show the nude torsos so that would be the materials, I assume.

Novica, if you installed with DIM, did you trygoing to the installed products tab in DIM, and right clicking it on the Lex product and then in the popup menu choose show installed files? It gives you links to all the files that were installed with that product. Click the link for what you are looking for and it should take you to where the file is. Hopefully that will tell you if you have it or not.

Here's how that translates in the studio- this is all I've got except for the makeup options, a few not shown. But they only relate to the face, I tried them just in case something was whacky.

Okay tjohn, you've got what I've got. But when you load V4, does that 1 lex body take off the swimsuit and change the torso?

If they're not in the Material folder, look under the Pose Folder. That's where they usually are on my system, and in most of the products I download.

Did you try the 3 LEX MAT DS option (from tjohn's screenshot? Dunno, but my guess is that should load the head and body textures.

With V4 selected, click on "3 Lex MAT DS". That is the DS body texture.
"!Lex Head INJ" injects the head shape.
"1 Lex Body MOR" injects the body morph.
"3 Lex MU1 DS", "3 Lex MU2 DS" and "3 Lex Natural DS" are your face options.

YES! :) Thanks everyone. Now I can put some clothes on her! (I like this figure.) Tjohn, hope you like her since you bought her!
And tjohn, what is 2 Lex MAT P6.pz2? Nothing happens when I click on that.

The P6 mats are for Poser. They will look about the same as the DS mats until you render.

Wonderful! Again, thanks everyone. Doing this on Loritab (had a trip to the dentist, surgery) isn't fun. I thought I tried all the options but obviously woozed over a few. (woozing is when you doing something in a woozy state. I like my new word!) I didn't figure it out yesterday either though, lol!

I do like Lex. The only change I made was to turn the specular on her skin down from 100 to 10 so she wasn't so shiny.
She wanted to dress up as a pixie. :)

She looks good! And of course, my fav hair- Pyrit :)
BTW, is there a product that helps with the bends in the arms/legs? I am reminded when I use V4 that the arms really crease. I conveniently blocked the bend of the arm with the hand.

There is this one, but I don't own it so I can't say how well it works. Perhaps someone else knows.

On a Site not far away, starts with a Ren, is a product named Perfect V4. The full set creates a New cr2 that will take all (most) other morphs but you must inject them by hand to the New V4. I found it to be the Best V4 I ever used.

    Today's Review:

Eskrima Stick Fighting Poses for Genesis 2 Male(s)
    http://www.daz3d.com/new-releases/eskrima-stick-fighting-poses-for-genesis-2-male-s
    Chinchbug

As you can see, this is an excellent set of poses suitable for a small polearm/baton, or knife/sword. Includes a prop/combat baton 'trainer sticks' but you can easily substitute a baton weapon of your choice, or sword.

Poses look natural and realistic. Great for sci-fi combat renders. I am highly pleased by this set, and can see I will get some use out of it.. Facial expressions will reset between poses, so i didn't bother posing the face.
    Other content used

    EXO Suit (Xurge 3d)

Superhero Equipment for Genesis 2 male (Smay, Velemudr)

War dog for genesis (Luthbel) (Beret) I used the texture expansion for the insignia on the beret)

    Backdrop
Boudoir Photo Studio & Lights (Predatron, Diane)

Michael 5 Elite Texture Dave (Daz3d)
    http://www.daz3d.com/michael-5-elite-skin-texture-dave (Diffuse added)

Sarge has an upgraded bod thanks to Male-M3dia (I used body number 03) (the head is a mix of stuff)
    M3d Men 03 HD
    http://www.daz3d.com/new-releases/m3d-men-03-hd-for-michael-6

Images 1-5 are poses from the set. I used both the katana and the default training sticks for variety. I like the third image the best. I like the strong shadow.

SereneNight- you used quite the combination of products! I think I like the second from the last render the best, for the camera angle. I like the tilted up approach. The Elite Texture Dave looks good, I haven't used that yet.

Jaderail, thanks for the tip. I'll check it out :)

Well, guess what- I already have the Perfect V4 Complete- I got it last April and it was on sale for under $30- I forgot all about it! So I'll have to play with it. I've never downloaded/installed stuff from "the other place" so how do I know where to put something like this- isn't it a script of some sort?

EDIT: This video link was in the ReadMe.

Thank you. =-) Elite Dave is quite fair, but takes a diffuse quite well.

I wanted more detail in the skin as the previous Sarge skin looked a tad flat in the skin department. Dave has some head stubble, and other nice options, and even though it is for M5, looks fine on a M6 figure.

I rarely used Dave before this point, but think it is a really good skin. Hopefully we'll see some elite textures for gen 2 male that aren't high def.

The installer should have the correct file structure- usually poser indicated.

When you expand the file, you need to put the content in the same locations as the folders are within the zip.

I haven't used the product in question personally, but that is usually how it work.s

This has some really pretty options- but did you notice the third thumbnail, the bend on that sandal? You'd think for promo art they'd be particular about those kinds of things. Looks warped. I did buy the men's sandals/flip flops as they'll come in handy for casual wear and are a great price (bought the earrings for 4.02 and the flip flops for 3.58 as I bought 2 things and have the S6 pro bundle. Holding off on the Viking bundle as am cutting back on spending.)

If you do kid renders, the hair in fast grab right now is really good for that (DesireHair)
    http://www.daz3d.com/fast-grab-3d-models/desire-hair

Putzing with lighting, doing some more "extreme" settings and no test renders, to see what happens. It's fun just playing. Cassia is a challenge (very dark skin) against white furniture, so that's what I'm doing. I'll list the products later when I do the other lit scenes, This is just for fun :)

Cassia For Olympia (DAZ 3D / Silver / DemonicaEvilius)
    Estal Hair (DAZ3d / SWAM)
Peplum Dress And Blossom Shoes For Genesis 2 Females (DAZ 3D / Bobbie25 / Sarsa)
End Of Summer Hair (DAZ 3D / Goldtassel)
    A Bright Loft (Bluebird 3d)

    http://www.daz3d.com/end-of-summer-hair
    http://www.daz3d.com/a-bright-loft

All of these are out of the box, no figure adjustments, etc.

TIP: use the second floor of A Bright Loft for a bottom floor background.
Cassia is dark skinned so you'll have to watch what you put in the background- light furniture is going to be a challenge. (which is why I did it.) This isn't a really serious render, aka, didn't spend hours on postwork, but wanted to give a suggestion for you:

TIP: If your white furniture gets washed out, instead of putting in the dark lines, gray the entire piece, then put in WHITE stripes. Next go in with a slightly darker gray and run that strip along the bottom of the white lines, which gives them 3d pop. Its more subtle than painting in dark lines. See furniture directly behind Cassia, that was a 10 minute doodle just to show you how it's done.

Rendering a closeup of Cassie, will take hours I think. Back later tonight. Anyone else have one of Cassie?

EDIT: Added a doodle with a spotlight so you can see how the skin tone changes. Specular needs some adjustment, too shiny (can really tell on the hand.) She's very versatile.
