Well, at least I am not getting Cloud Fared at the moment. I am actually using Chrome. Something funny, I put in a ticket over a month ago complaining about that and just now got a response that they want a screenshot. That was nice of them to follow up, but I think they've been aware of the problem, lol.

Looking forward to your reviews. I am working on RRRR tomorrow on. (Promise! Worked on it last night for a few hours.) Merry Christmas Totte!

I just got these wonderful new trees http://www.daz3d.com/new-releases/maple-tree-pack-1
If you are anything like me you can never have enough trees.....They come in.....sizes...adult ,mature ,seeding, and young with leaves or without....in colors of Fall, Spring, and Summer....in this render I did not use any special lighting as I want to show how they came out of the box.....so to speak...also did not use any background so you could see the leaves......I like them and for the price I think its a very good deal...Trish

o.k... made these renders for the DAZ contests... but I can't rave enough about SHADERS...

    THE FIRST RENDER...
    http://www.daz3d.com/furify-fur-shaders and
    http://www.daz3d.com/the-fabricator
These two shaders turned an ordinarily boring freebie santa hat into an authentic original. I can almost feel the fuzz of the fur and the soft felt cap... They are relatively inexpensive and a BIG bang for the buck...

    "Santa Olympia"

    USED:
    Olympia... http://www.daz3d.com/olympia-for-genesis-2-female
    http://www.daz3d.com/platinum-club-items/end-of-summer-hair-for-genesis-and-genesis-2-female-s
Santa Hat... FREE from MostDigitalCreations (http://www.daz3d.com/furify-fur-shaders for the trim & pom pom http://www.daz3d.com/the-fabricator for the red felt bit)
    my own background

    --------------
    THE SECOND RENDER...
http://www.daz3d.com/casual-jeans-and-t-shirt-for-genesis-2-female-s (JEANS http://www.daz3d.com/leatherize and TOP http://www.daz3d.com/furify-fur-shaders on the bodice of the shirt... sleeves were left plain...praise the creator for making a separate zone for short sleeves)

    "Winter Olympia"

    USED:
    Olympia... http://www.daz3d.com/olympia-for-genesis-2-female
    http://www.daz3d.com/candeecurlz-hairstyle (used BOW ONLY from http://www.daz3d.com/minnie-bow-hair-for-genesis )
http://www.daz3d.com/casual-jeans-and-t-shirt-for-genesis-2-female-s (jeans LEATHERIZED and Top FURIFIED)
    http://www.daz3d.com/new-releases/frosty-boots-for-genesis-2-female-s
    http://www.daz3d.com/rocks-n-drops-fantasy-scene-kit

Hope you all enjoy my render :)

Thanks for showing those Trish. You are right, that price can't be beat. I like the fact that those trees have both leaf, and no leaf morphs. =-)

    Atmospheric Eftects Cameras
    Desert Outpost

    http://www.daz3d.com/atmospheric-effects-cameras-for-daz-studio
    http://www.daz3d.com/desert-outpost

Here is an interesting image I'm working on right now for a banner. I'm still messing with the lights to get the results I want, I know, I know, I said I don't normally do distance work, but I wanted to use the mech, and this made it necessary. I'm thinking I like the results.

Novica already showed the ins and outs of the Atmospheric effects camera in her review in thread 2, but here you can see the different results you can get with this camera and how it works with a landscape. This image is meant to be a banner so it is a. both lower res than I would like and b. long and thin

One thing I've started to do, and what I'm going to suggest to everyone, is that if you make an image with a character you like, with poses and props and hair, you zero out the figure, and save it in a characters folder without the environment or props This is quite useful, if you want to populate an image later on. You can see several characters I've used before here in this image. And I'm relieved at last to do a render with DAZ troll!

    1. Base image
    2. Smog
    3. Fog/Smoke
    4. Fog Bright
    5. Thick fog

I love that this thread is buzzing even on Christmas Day.

I have no idea why I don't have Atmospheric Effects yet. They add so much variety and cut down on the postwork. It's always interesting to see the different options side-by-side like this. Thanks SereneNight!

Trish, good to get a peek at these maple trees straight out the box. I like how there are different options not just for seasons but also the tree age. I could definitely put these to good use! Bare branches are especially welcome, as until the Dark Trees from the PC event appeared there wasn't much around for winter/desolate scenes.

    Llola
, that hat's so furry! I have Fabricator but not Furify, and now I'm asking myself why not? That hair is fun too, I can see why you picked it for the second render.

Delighted to see both on board, along with all the other supporters of this thread who've recently shared reviews. You and SereneNight have made this the place to be!

I really ought to start myself an Art Studio thread. One step at a time.. today I finally uploaded an avatar (not showing yet, I've heard that can happen). :)

I DO have to go, seriously going out the door- but the funny thing is I had just seen that hair that she used, and now can't think of what it is. I didn't get it because I wasn't sure about the bangs, seemed crimpy- but now that I've seen it, I like it. So give up the ghost- what hair is it before I got NUTS?

LOL Jindi- I have to wonder what people are doing on the thread Christmas Day, but I was on it at 7ish this morning so I can understand it. I'm a Dazaholic. We've had about 240 views since 8am. NOW I'm gone for a awhile.

    Product Review
A Kid's World Poses for Genesis Child
    http://www.daz3d.com/new-releases/a-kids-world-genesis-child-poses
    (Expressions not included)
There are several nice pose sets for Kids 4 that can be used for Genesis Child but not many that have been created specifically for the Genesis Child. These 20 poses are well designed and look very natural and child-like.
I found myself inspired when applying each to the Genesis Child character, in that I would see what they would wear, what they were doing what kind of skin texture they should have, the expression on their face - even what their personality should be like. :)
The poses require very little to no tweaking (in fact, of the 4 examples shown below, the little boy with the basketball was the only one I had to tweak at all. The left hand was in contact with the pants leg and the pants were "smoothing" around it.)

I am enjoying this pose set, and at $1.99 PC pricing, it's really a bargain.

Hi All and merry Christmas. I was very pleased to find a PM from Novica this morning inviting me to be a guest contributor. Thank you, Novica! Wow, this is a great thread - looks like I will be spending even more money here at DAZ after looking at some of these renders and reviews. And I was trying to cut down...

I did this when M4 for Genesis 2 Male (http://www.daz3d.com/people/michael-4-for-genesis-2-male) came out as I so love this morph, and that you can use M4 textures - I have a lot of those that I love! This one is Shaw (http://www.daz3d.com/shaw-for-m4) . I also used:
    Steam Cowboy for M4 http://www.daz3d.com/steam-cowboy
    Sci-Fi Corridor 2013 http://www.daz3d.com/sales-promotions/sci-fi-corridor-2013 On sale for 40% off!
    Creature Creator for Genesis 2 Female(s) http://www.daz3d.com/creature-creator-for-genesis-2-female-s
Genesis 2 Male Morphs Bundle http://www.daz3d.com/people/genesis-2-male-s-morphs-bundle
    and a few other things

I like the M4 for Genesis 2 Male so much mostly because of the nose. For me the Genesis 2 Male and M6 noses are a kind of specialized (kind of Irish maybe?) and hard to tweak into another shape. The head and neck shape are different also. You can use M4's textures and clothes too, which is awesome!

I love dialing morphs to make characters so I will have more of these coming. Also I am an avid participant in RRRR Render Contests so I will be posting renders with DAZ products used in somewhat odd ways.

I agree with you. Customizing my figures is one of the reasons I buy genesis. M6, has a lot of features that are difficult to remove, and like the M4 morph. Now if someone would just make m5- =-)

Love what you did with this image. Really has a great sense of atmosphere! =-)

Thanks for showing this set. Truth be told I haven't used Genesis Kid that much. I like the image of the young man on the steps with the basketball!

    Simple Veins
    http://www.daz3d.com/simple-veins-hd

I really think Sickleyield's Simple Veins, is one of my favorite freebies released this year. It is so simple, and yet it adds so much to m6. Best of all, it is free.

Here you can see the details of the veins on the head and hands and arms on these test renders I did with Sarge. (Sans his usual beret to show off forehead veins).

Just like any morph, you click on the bodypart, and dial in a little- or a lot.

I have you to thank for the awesome hand veins. Thanks for tipping me off. =-) I originally wasn't going to bother trying 'em, since for some reason I thought HD would not work on SD characters. It seems to work fine. Maybe I just don't understand the whole HD bizness as much as I thought. I didn't realize you could mix-n-match morphs like that.

I do think there is something off about the pose/bodybuilder morphs when he flexes. the shoulders and chest look odd to me. I don't know if that is M6, or the specific pose, or just the fact that bodybuilder is dialed in, but the chest and shoulder muscles funky to me in a way I can't describe.

Since Sarge rarely flexes like a bodybuilder, and I don't usually illustrate characters showing off in that manner it isn't a tremendous issue, but it made me wonder about m6 chest and how it looks in certain poses.

Aha, THAT was the hair. I tried looking before I headed out and all I could think of was Crazy Curls! (Well, kinda close.)

Welcome to our two newest Invited Guest Contributors-

Luci 45 (who just posted- gorgeous as usual!)
    MelanieL

Let me answer a question that is coming up quite often from the IGC's-

NO, it does not matter if you post a render / review a product that has already been done. You do not have to wade through 3,000 posts from my Thread 1 or the second thread with co-host SereneNight. We probably don't even know what we've done- I can only speak for myself, but unless it was a full scene, I wouldn't remember all the products I've shown.

So if you have a (edit) PRODUCT already rendered- that someone showcases, jump in and share yours if you have it done, or do another example of it if you really like that product. And don't worry if it's somewhere in our "monster threads." We pick up new viewers every day.

Luci45 and MelanieL, again, thanks for joining the thread, I know you're both very busy with RRRR. (My evil plan is to get you so busy over here, you'll forget about the deadline over there and .... (wicked cackle)

So many great renders, I can't keep up. You folks have been BUSY. I like the children- the poses don't look forced. I like the cheerleader one best due to the energy level.

Sarge is looking good- I particularly like the hand veins- makes him powerful. The last image, love the glint in his eyes as it's not overstated.

And I have, but have not used-Steam Cowboy. Yours looks as good as the promo image Luci- they should hire you :)

BTW, when you folks make your backgrounds, what size would you recommend? I'm dangerous, I am beginning to dabble in Photoshop :)

The guy has bug muscles. Cool. I should try making my own bodybuilder one of these days with Genesis. I don't too much stuff for M4. Thanks for the idea and the tip about Simple Veins.

Thanks, SereneNight and Novica. This is fun - there are so many great products. SereneNight, Sickleyield's Veins look a lot better on your muscleman than the promo render. I guess I will download them. tjohn, A Kid’s World Poses for Genesis Child look pretty appealing too. Thanks for posting that. I bought Children of the World textures a while back when they were in Fast Grab, specifically for the Genesis children, but haven't used them yet. iI think someone else mentioned that too in this thread.

I am unlikely, Novica, to miss the RRRR deadline - that is always my first priority. :cheese: This is a very cool thread too and it is great that everyone is helpful and friendly. I plan to visit often.
