Ally and dForce Sling Lace Smock (G8F) Blingkini (G8F) Layla Hair (G8F)
Here's another cutie. She has a really easy smile when posing, and just reminds me of a natural beauty. Not overdone. One thing though, I think the eyes and lips are really limited in options. The lip color is one I did using the neutral color and then I used a dull mauve with a slight pink in Surfaces pane.
The Blingkini does a halfway decent job of covering the booty, depending on the angle from which you're shooting. In other words, I've seen much worse. :)

If you've visited the wonderful Hylas thread here in the Art Studio, they provided a tutorial on using Grungy Threads (someone asked how they did the render, shown here. I'll put a link in the first page of my thread in the tutorials under Grungy Threads. @hylas very nice job!
No link to the tutorial? The linked image doesn't appear to have any grungy threads effects either. Did you link the wrong image?
Edit - Oh, I think you fixed it.
It was weird, I did it three times and it kept doing the Ally image. I had to leave the forums, go in to the store, and come back. Even a hard refresh wouldn't clear the link. Never had that happen before. :(
Store and forums have been very flaky today.
Here's what I did with the get 5 flash sale. Focused on sets.

I have done a bit more to Warg and this is iteration two. The render of the Lycan didn't want to play well with the Warg render and, because it is separate from the grass in the Warg render when put together in Vegas he looks as if he is running on top of it Back to the grind.
Warg 2
Yeah, the chimp is great. I've gotten AM's Eastern American Squirrel & Moose this week. Rocky & Bullwinkle her I come.
Even though I didn't need anyting in them I bought the Michael 7 & Victoria 7 Pro Bundles for $1.99 each in case owning those is relevant to future discounts.
Thanks for the heads up. I got, because it was too good after seeing it on your list:

and I got Shoe Store Props as I figured it would be nice in Favreal's French Village or the Aurelio's New York Stores product, just to name two (there are also all sorts of products to use that in from Stone Mason, Silent Winter & others.)

I'm trying not to spend too much because every Pro Bundle of whatever generation I see as a $1.99 product I intend to buy.
I went in kind of a weird direction with my flash sale picks. I picked up all three of the Plushies 2.0, which I was generally in no real hurry to get, because I had an idea for a render using them. Of the three, Pounce is the only one that I would consider correctly rigged. Ping and Scamp's arms get distorted if you move them more than a little bit, and you can't really move them up or down very well, whereas Pounce has a wider range of motion that, while still limited by the stubbiness of his arms, more closely approximates a human's and looks good across the range of motion. I also got the Forest Camp, and this was another big let down. It's one of those sets where the basic components are bones of a central prop rather than being independent props, which means that you can't, for example, move the tree stump relative to the campfire. It's frustrating when PAs do this, but it at least makes some sense when you're talking about a house or something like that; I can't see a single reason to have made this particular set like that. Even more annoyingly, the meat on the spit is its own surface, so you can hide that easily enough, but if you hide the spit itself, part of the tree stump also disappears, because they're the same surface. At this point, it's basically just a good fire and some useful props, but I can't really see myself using it as a set. #5 was Mr. Mushroom, and it would have to work very hard to disappoint me, because I don't expect that much from it in the first place.
Love that the two PC+ items in the Additional New will drop the bundle down to 27.82, which is 79% off.
Note: for those Genesis 3 items for 1.99- there are Genesis 8 items in there too. Just select Figure and look in the dropdown.
@nonesuch00 You're welcome. It's a fanastic deal at $6, the set is so detailed and seems big. I only looked at things which were 44% or more off. Otherwise, you were only getting that 50% off which to me isn't worth focusing on. Nothing I need (if I did, 50% would be fine.)
Be careful! The price on the outpost props (one of those two PC+ items I just mentioned) jumped to over 9.00 in the cart just now. Don't check out or if you do, check it! It almost got me! It says 3.49 on the product page but once in the cart, it's now wrong. EDIT- It's fixed.
Everyone is saying it's such a great deal with the purple banner but I only get it down to $27.92 and just 5 free characters as a bonus. Is anyone getting anything better?
I'm seeing the bundle at $28.33, with three more Debut items. Five free characters, too.
I got the Pro Bundle ($27.82), 2 new releases, and 5 free characters for $32 plus tax. I wasn't going to get her until I saw that it really was a decent deal. I really like Fi the best, I think.
It's almost 80% off at 27.92 and five free characters, that's generous IMO.
I thought they were usually around $26 plus free bundles or tons of free DazOs. Sometimes I bought bundles I didn't need because it came with so many freebies. I like the bundle, but I just remember better deals.
@wonderland Maybe they just changed it up because a lot of us were (rightly so) complaining about it being the same-old-same-old DO's offered as freebies. :)
Just curious on the pro bundle prices. Check around May 21 and see what you paid for Sahira.
Then
April 29 (or so) would be Alawa. Aubrey was in between those I think? I didn't get her. But I'm not seeing $27 Pro Bundles recently. Maybe I didn't get the best deal?
@wonderland Are you thinking perhaps of prices when you applied a PC+ $6.00 off coupon?
Yes, but I remember before that, they used to offer sometimes two free pro bundles and a wider variety of Daz Os. The deals were better in the past. I know I bought some male bundles I didn't really need because I got two free other 8 bundles plus many other Daz Os. Sometimes I would check out with like 60 free items if you counted the individual products in the free bundles.
But what were you paying for the pro bundle in order to get all those freebies? I’m guessing it was quite a bit more than $28.
Sahira was $32.40 plus 10 free items but the better deals were further back. Have to organize all my screenshots!
Leroy bundle was $39.68 but got 2 free pro 8 bundles plus 20 free items. I think that was the best deal.
Yeah, see, I don't get free pro bundles because I usually have them (until recently. Cutting back a bit, unless the deals are good. For instance, I didn't get Aubrey. ) That Leroy deal sounds like it was a really good one.
The original deal for Leroy wasn't bad. I picked up a total of 22 items for about $60, (including two named 8 pro bundles along with the required 3 "addons" to get the best discount on the bundle.)
A few days later, Daz put DOs on sale for Valentine's and the deal was even better. I know of one customer who repurchased Leroy twice (!) to get the deals that went with it, they were that good.
Amaris HD (V8) dForce Ancient Warrior (G8F) dForce Soft Curls (G3F / G8F) ElianeCK Face and Body Iray Lights
iRadiance Pro Series Rain Chicago IGD Fierce Poses (G3F / G8F) Abatement
The ElianeCK Face and Body Iray Lights can be used with Dimension Theory's iRadiance Pro Series Rain City Chicago to give you a nice rim light / colored glow in a dusk / overcast day setting. I love these two light products together. I left this darker for a dusk environment.
I do not like Amaris chest at all. It has the boobs squished together and they look really fake. I literally did about twelve different morphs to correct the breasts to something that looked more normal to me. The Breast Separation had to be -39, I changed the underneath of the breast and the breast slope. So she is really altered compared to default.
Also, why have purple eyes, purple nails, purple eye makeup but no purple brows? Would have loved to see that option.
@Novica, I like the portrayal you did of Amaris and thanks for reminding me of that outfit. Don't you love the Soft Curls, they are so great. I even can't mess them up!
Regarding "Also, why have purple eyes, purple nails, purple eye makeup but no purple brows? Would have loved to see that option."
Have you thought about some CC brows and use the one of the chevybabe25's two coloring system for them?
Mary
Just a note, chevybabe25 created those soft curls as well. No wonder I love them and they come through for me every time.
Well, I've got the backlight one, but it says for vertical hair. brows are horizontal. Will have to read again how that product works as it sounded like the focus was on the lighting not the shaders, although many are listed. So far as CC brows, yep, if I were rendering her for me, those brows would be gone anyway. I always try to feature the characters with the default brows. :)
Chevybabe25's Real Hair Shaders are great, imo. They do come with purple - about 8 different shades of purple. I've only just purchased them yesterday, so I'm just now trying them out - but they seem to do really well with both Poly Hair (Ichigo Hair below), as well as fibermesh (the brows below). For poly hair, it seems to work best when you turn tiling to 1 (the default is 3). They're meant for Strand-Based Hair and dForce hair, so I'm sure they'll look good on those - though I haven't gotten a chance to try them with those hair types yet.
Here I used the Real Hair Shaders on the poly hair, the fibermesh brows, and the lashes:
The character is Gabi for Lisa 8.
