Thanks Novica, I would have missed this sale. Too busy with editing and working on dForce Desert Queen Hair, and baking bread that I forgot about it. So Daz got my money. Good thing I hadn't shopped yesterday or this morning.

My pleasure :)   And hey, I'm baaaaaaaack!  Got internet at 4pm today!
One thing I will mention to you Roku folks in case you get in a weather situation, and I discovered it too late. You can get the ROKU app and the FRNDLY TV apps on your phone and use your cell to connect to internet. That's important because FRNDLY TV has the Weather Channel, as mentioned before. Now, I never lost cell phone connection, and had internet until I went to bed at 4am. But had I lost it, Weather Channel is on FRNDLY TV so on that app. You can keep in touch with the weather on your phone during a hurricane!

Just thought I'd share some variations on my latest purchase  Toon Eren for Toon Generations 2. The girl on the left is combined with Kallisto and uses DC Mira's skin and the girl on the right is combined with an African morph and uses Grace's skin. Eren is very versatile.

    @sueya  That's a nice combination :)  I like Kallisto in particular.

For once, getting a discount on a bundle where I already own a lot of it pays off this time. I don't have six of the items, they were $11.20 each according to the bundle analysis (where it shows you the average price each)  so that would be over $66 then if bought individually. I didn't check each one because my banner offer is 55% off, so those are $30.23 and 80% off in the cart. Can't pass up a Mousso gal, two gals, an office set, a huge city set, and hair for about $5 each!  I see someone (Rod) in the sales thread in Commons got it down to $25 with two new releases in the cart- but I don't see any offer to lower the price further doing that, and it would cost me more than $5 to buy two new releases anyway.

Using my PC+ code for the DO's, I got it down to $24.23!!!!! That's about FOUR DOLLARS for each item, that's a steal. Thanks DAZ!

    It's a start! lol

Now they just need to put back product information.

To be honest, I'd be okay with just a link to the product page for active products, and full information for those no longer in the store. (And while they're at it, a way to see the promo images of products that are no longer available, too.)

  • NovicaNovica Posts: 23,887

Yes, I hope they don't think this will pacify us. The Product Library page is NOT supposed to be an advertisement page for an installing method that most of us don't like (I'm guessing.)  As you said, it's a START.

I really hope they get that Daz Central install button off of there. I almost click it every day I go to download the product pages, it is right there. I have to keep myself from my buttons on the mouse. But one day, I will not be paying attention and I hope there is a failsafe to say 'NO!'.

Yes, at least as of right now, it takes you to a page where you would have to click several more things before ending up with Daz Central installed.

I'd vote for that too! (I have quite a lot of "discontinued" stuff from way back)

    Same here

I just looked at mine and it only goes back to 2001 none of my purchases prior to that are there.

That could be because maybe DAZ was still just Zygote at the time as we're talking pre-Victoria ( Poser 3 and 4 Posette & Dork (aka poser male) )

    DORK?

Who named THAT for heavens sake? Was he dorky?

His official name was just "High resolution male". The poser community nicknamed him.

He was a total Dork.   Posette was quite cute,  and there were loads of morphs around to maker her different.  Morp makers seemed to struggle to make poor old dork look better.

I see the question has already been answered.

There were several people for Poser that kinda made you shudder

I admit I found it on the net.  I do have some renders of him in my gallery over at Rendo,  but mostly I would try and make them so he wasn't face front.  Like this one done in 2002

Passing this along, several folks have commented.

The Heeled Cork Sandals (weekly freebie) are very poorly made. Besides not actually fitting the shoes properly, the pose is problematic. (In addition to several folks PMng me about them, Barbult posted about it in the PC+ thread for weekly releases.) Apparently loading the shoes fit to the figure zeroes out the pose,  and applying the foot pose moves the hip bone's Y-Translate.

THIS IS POOR QUALITY CONTROL ON SO MANY LEVELS. It IS up to the vendor to test their products. It IS up to DAZ QA TO DO THEIR JOB!!!!!

I submitted a help request on it, and Emma has already forwarded it to QA, so we will see if anything gets fixed. Thanks for passing the warning on to people so they don't lose all their posing like I did, just by loading a pair of shoes.

@barbult   Sure!  That would really tick me off. If you (or anyone) ever finds an annoying QA issue, feel free to post it here too for additional visibility. :)  If you want to be anonymous just PM me and I'll post it (and note it is not first hand experience.)  I know some folks are surfers and not posters but have a lot to contribute. Having additional testers would be beneficial too.

Well, in other news- Hurricane Sally did $800,000 damage to the recycling facility, so no more of that for probaby six months to a year. There were a total of 22 barges that wreaked havoc and one plowed through a well established oyster farm and POOF!  $150,000 of oysters were destroyed. And one family has a SEVENTY FIVE FOOT LONG sinkhole next to their house!  (Sinkholes are usually middle of the state down, not in the Panhandle, although they can occur.)  It looks to be at least 6-8 feet DEEP too.  What happened was a neighboring retention pond for another subdivision drained off into theirs, like a raging river. It literally took out a chunk of the street and brick mailboxes. County officials are pondering what to do.

And just how DOES one get water into a tub which has no faucet? Island Beach Resort's bathtub seems to be a carved out primitive, at best. There doesn't appear to be much to it, from what the promos show. (Even the top view.)  I like the set offering various rooms and an outdoor setup though.  The pool looks rather "out there" to me,  as the decking stops by the stairs, but on the other hand the vendor is offering a unique setup.  It's just personal opinion but the pool looks rather stark to me without decking which is level and all around it. One thing you could do though is bring in another ground and raise it up to the pool. So I can get past that, but the bathtub looks rather... underwhelming. Anyone get it that can see if the tub offers something other than a placeholder?  Any faucets?

Interesting, I wanted to be sure I read it right- If you buy one of the debut new releases, you get an ADDITIONAL 50% off that featured section.  If you get two of the debut new releases, add another 15% off. That puts almost all of them at 79% off! (Most under $4)  (When getting two of the debut new releases, they go to 57% or 58%  off because you get 15% off your entire order except Fast Grab.)  Here's a sample cart-
Edit- and if I take the Island Beach Resort Out so I only have 1 New Debut, the HDRI goes to $9.15 and 46% off,  instead of $7.20 and 58% so about $2 more,  and the rest go like 3.94 to 4.15,  4.16 to 4.40, etc.  It's $45.98 without the resort, and $53.03 with that added

     Shopping Cart

BTW, having that cart drops Oasis Dream down to SEVENTY PERCENT OFF. Love the looks of that set! So far I've taken Dorcey out of the cart, surprisingly, I like the two pose sets. There's a few in each one (particular the couples one) that I know took some time to do.

What are you folks doing? Resisting, or buying?

A little bit of both. Most of my carts in September included coupons, (and I didn't use all available to me.) I took advantage of the "$1.99 for up to 3" offer twice. I got a total of $35 in store credit, too. Then there were a few items I bought without caring if there was a better deal to be had for waiting. (The two new outfits for the guys… the UltraScenery addon… the new apt from 1stBastion…) I managed to get a good deal on most of those, though.

For this event, I've placed 19 orders on 13 different days. Four of those were weekly/monthly freebies, one I returned. So 15 orders that cost me money, eight of which I used coupons on, (including the two for being a PC member,)  one for a Fast Grab item, two with $1.99 items, one with an extra 50% off new releases, and the last one today with the extra 15% off the entire cart, (with an item or three from the deeply discounted cats for Blender compatible content.)

I don't expect to buy anything else before the PC Anniversary sale starts, but it really depends on what products get released. I'm not anticipating anything specific, like I was with the White Tie outfit.

Just don't ask me how much Store Credit I went through since the first of the month. I have no intentions of looking!

There does seem to be a faucet for the https://www.daz3d.com/island-beach-resort--beach-pool-villa bathtub.

I spent more than I intended this month, but still about 25% less than last year - thanks to some vet bills.

I've even rendered about half of what I got already...

Since the PA event is wrapping up, I was trying to decide about items I hadn't yet bought but wanted sooner or later and suddenly I can't find that MIAMI BEACH ART DECO set !   I went through my browser history to make sure I hadn't seen it somewhere else & that it was actually a recent/new  item and to find the actual exact name since the store search is so lousy most times at finding things easily.... can anyone else find this item, (is it just my browser?!) or is it really gone missing??
        ~Gen

RESISTING, OR BUYING?  I bought some stuff here & there, but depending on whether you ask my wallet or the Daz cash-register, it's the best or the worst fall sale as I have spent w a a a y   less than the last few years during this same event.  Too many meh & seen-this-before items, too many bundles with mixes that didn't work for me or deals where the pork chops tied to the products weren't able to entice to buy things I just didn't want (granted, I'm likely a statistical outlier since I rarely buy female items and almost never female chars) and I guess also I'm a bit jaded by having 6k items already.  But there were some things just too well-done or appealing to pass up! (like that Oasis item!)

  • L'AdairL'Adair Posts: 9,479

@genaris, The Miami Beach Art Deco set was pulled. Of course, no explanation. Nor any word if it will return after fixing whatever issue got it pulled in the first place.
