    Unfortunate update, this

    • Genital morph matching the texture for quick results without having to use geografts

will be or maybe already has been removed since it's apparently not allowed. Slipped through QA.

I still have the BJ Genitals hip morph in my installation. Wait, that morph name doesn't sound kid-friendly.

BJ also has a very sexual meaning, so "BJ Genitals" sounds like a real red flag for Daz.

What exactly makes it illegal?  I find it really silly this happens to things that are not actually tactile and real.

Daz tries really hard not to be seen as a website for "Adult Content." I read somewhere that websites for Adult Content are seen as risky ventures to banks and financial companies. I guess customers of such sites frequently pretend they were not the person who made the charges and ask to have their money refunded... or something. Part of me thinks there must be more to it than chargebacks, but I can't find the article I read all this in anymore

Anyway, Adult websites have to pay higher fees and some companies won't do business with them at all (I heard 'Otica has a workaround for this, not sure if that's true). But I am not sure how nudity alone makes a site "Adult." Rendo manages to do nudity without pornography, so I don't know where the line is or if Rendo really does have to pay higher fees.

It's probably [SPECULATION!!] Paypal.  Daz has enough problems with treasure chests and Middle Eastern stuff, so they're walking on eggshells.

Well if it slipped through, I'm guessing the flag wasn't red enough! LOL!

So is it just the naming of the morph? or the morph itself?

Ha, no genital morphs aren't allowed. I guess it falls in the same topic as genitals only available in pro bundles. Something apparently makes it acceptable to be in there but not elsewhere.

Wait, so Daz is allowed to provide genitals on their characters but PAs aren't? You're only allowed to provide textures for "official" genitals?

  • fred9803fred9803 Posts: 1,564

Daz PAs may not be, I'm not sure, but there are plenty of third-party AEs to fit all the Genesis characters. Maybe there's a contractual rule about PS's providing their own AEs but not being a PA I can't say. The only apparent rule I know of is that under-aged characters, both here and at Rendo, can't be sold with AE textures. Which makes sense.

I have at least two characters that come with a "genital crease," morph. But I guess only creases are allowed on the base figure and not anything more detailed. HD Genital morphs can exist, but as morphs for the anatomical elements. It's a weird rule, but that's to be expected here. :/

If you know where the phrase "blue jaunte" originally came from, then "blue jaunte genitals" is an entirely different sort of "red flag".

    "Pop goes the weasel".

The only thing about blue jauntes that I could find was a book called The Stars my Destination. Teleporting through space?

Yeh and "blue jaunte' was a euphenism for random teleportation into rock, ie, suicide. Not a jolly thought.

Sort of. "Jaunting" is teleporting in that story. You have to know the exact spatial relationship between your current location and where you want to be. Teleporting without knowing this is a "blue jaunte", and it's fatal. There's a loud "Pop!" and I vaguely remember something about the person who tried being reduced to a "mist" of disintigrating particles. So, if someone were somehow to "blue jaunt genitals", well, like I said "Pop! Goes the weasel".

There was a lot of good stuff on the implications of teleportation in the story: prisons are entered through elaborate mazes so the prisoners can't ever know exactly where they are, and therefore, can't teleport out. Every now and then someone tries, so the prisoners are occasionally awakened by that "pop!"  Mansions and secure buildings have entry mazes so intruders can't jaunt in.

Sounds cool. It only cost me 5 cents on Amazon, thanks to a shipping credit I had, so I picked it up.

Porting into a space occupied by another object is downright frought with obvious issues. The stuff of the USS Eldridge and the Philadelphia Experiment. Obviously very dangerous, while being complete fiction. Still it's possiblity is scary enough as a concept.

Don't know exactly, just figured that something about the pro bundle maybe makes it legally less problematic to include genitals in there? I mean it could be just that they don't want anything competing with pro bundles but somehow I doubt that.

Surprised how many people know about jaunting smiley

    There's a movie? Never knew.

Also, the term (jaunting) was used in the Tomorrow People which those of us of a certain age, at least from the UK, may well remember.

  • ArtiniArtini Posts: 9,445

Just wonder, if you think of "jaunting" as a teleportation - that what in my younger years, right after my university studies, I am talking.

That time, I have worked with mostly male colleagues and we all was amazed by the novel about jaunting a.k.a teleportation.

The topic was so popular, that we incorporated term jaunting to our daily talks, just for fun of it.

I do not remember exactly which novel was that, but on Wikipedia one can find at least two of them:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Jaunt and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Stars_My_Destination

and also https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Tomorrow_People which, I am not familiar with yet.

There are also others, like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaunting_car and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Quiet_Man

Bluejaunte - now I get it, that your alias is realated to such term. You has just brought such a nice memories of mine.

Could you tell, what are you relating to? Is it a teleportation, or something else?

  • bluejauntebluejaunte Posts: 1,901

Yup from the Alfred Bester novel I read a few years ago. Relatively shortly before I became a PA I guess. Basically teleporting blindly. I don't know any of the other stuff.

  • ArtiniArtini Posts: 9,445

Ok, thanks. Now I need to render something related to that.

Oh nevermind, I was getting jaunte mixed up with a video game called joust I used to play at the video arcade.

Since, I do not remember, which novel I have read in the past, I was amazed by the movie Jumper, which resembles similar topic:

I did not find it exactly bad, but i liked book better. I get why they changed it tho. The book is a little more "drama" and less hollywood superpower vibe.

Youtube series "Impulse" (canceled after 2 seasons) is kind of spin off, and from the episodes i saw the complete oppsite to the movie. More drama, characters centric with less superpower/cool ability.
