Very cool! I'm glad you managed to walk the plank properly while holding a camera as to avoid setting off that deadly trap!

Very much how I make VFX clips to add to videos via post work. Get an idea for a needed effect, set it up in Carrara, render it, save it for further use.

yes, I saved them in my FX folder for reuse as textures etc

thx Dart, carrara has a good lighting cache mode to be effectively applied to animations and speed up renders.

Currently working on optimizing animations of foliage and greenery and avoid flickering and such

this shot took "only" 13 minutes with an octacore

    Hi,

You will of course recognize "Secret Lake" by HowieFarkes.

It's a 4k resolution picture, so don't hesitate to zoom in.

It took 29 minutes to render it, with the depth of field. No postwork.

The render engine is octane (v4), working on two old (2015) Titan X graphic cards.

I made only a few minor adjustments to the original scene (shaders mostly), to make it work better with octane.

That is strange, I've never had a situation where the lens flares weren't nearly immediate.  What is in the scene that is causing it to take that long?

    probably Cripeman

he got me started on the fountain primitive as a surface replicator source, I use it for many things instead of particles

and yes you untick visible on it
