    @Jindi
Were you the one that was waiting on Stefan? I think I saw him in the V4/M4 sale a little while ago.

Kai has interesting makeup options :) I did get Faber's Pierre- finally. And WOOOOOOT! Stefan for you! Okay, so render him already!!!!

Yeah Anne, I was at $105 in the cart and have it down to 55.00 I took out some .99 items, for pete's sake- but my logic is to go for the most expensive stuff at 80%, because the 1.99 or 2.whatever can always be bought full price. So the $24.95 are my targets, and the things that go together. Blondie's Trekker Boots btw are part of several outfits- and not included with them- so I got them for V4 and M4 because they also have some cool textures on sale. EDIT: CURRENTLY STACKING DISCOUNTS!!!

I just came online, not sure how long it's been going- but there's a FLASH SALE 9-5pm MST They are doing 45%. (I'm having enough trouble with the 80%'s) Rotating groups so you might want to watch for artists that never go on sale too.

BTW, Fast Grab did change. Only one item, but thought I'd let you know because it hadn't changed in awhile.

Blondie9999 is in the flash sale and those boots I just mentioned ARE STACKING. The other $19.95 in my cart are $3.19 and those boots are $2.19- the textures and the V4 Trekker boots are also by Blondie.

EDIT: Here's the link. Also stacking during Flash.

So great, Flash is going off and stuff I took out, some of it is in Flash but now no time to look. Gotta check out.

LOL, I know what you mean. The only ones that I actually had wishlisted were the Space Rover, the Cosmopolitan outfits (with Fabricator/Totally Bazaar that dress is going to be awesome!) Venom Hair and texturs, and Urba Cargo Pants and Top.

Yesterday, I made my first character morphed from Genesis over in Z Brush! :) Just a few tidbits to show you how the process goes, for anyone thinking about Z Brush. And a few pieces of info and advice-

The first one is, your GoZ is free and installed in your studio. Your GoZ version MUST match the version of your studio (look at the last two digits.) Get that squared away first.

    Image 1:
First image: Select Genesis in Scene with base resolution. You go to File and you'll see Send To ZBrush. ZBrush doesn't have to be open, this will do it.

Second image: Genesis shows up as a tool.

    Image 2:
    Edited:
Draw Genesis. (All you do is use Standard Brush, drag and it draws! Really COOL.) Click Edit, that puts it in 3D mode. Hit Frame to center it, Scale to zoom in, select your brush/settings and start having fun!

    Image 3+ 4:
Use Symmetry (Ctrl+X) so both sides get the same treatment, this shows changing the forehead and then using Flatten to lower the bump that was created.

    Image 5:
In ZBrush, you just hit ZBrush in the Tool menu and import it back in to DAZ (leaving out a few steps because you get the idea how easy this is and I'm keeping it to 5 images) and name it. Then it's SO neat- in Parameters, Actor will now have ZBrush with your character! Save it as a Support Asset and you'll have it- meaning every character I have, I can apply mine to them too! :)

EDIT: Here's more- a tutorial on displacement maps and morphs, tutorial by Richard.

I have the perfect hair for Stefan, I just need to decide on an outfit now... then I'll start rendering. I like Phonenix's men for historial renders, so I'm thinking Merlin or Faveral for the background. :)

Pierre by Faber has been jumping in and out of my cart, along with Klaus. They only have 1 promo pic each so I couldn't make up my mind. Have you had a chance to render Pierre? What do you think? I'd love to know.

The DAZ Original discount is supposed to stack on these so don't buy a DAZ O from the selection just yet. They fixed this issue later on yesterday but it's not working again this morning. Jack is working on it though so we're in good hands.

Good work on the morph! I snap up head morph sets, they are so useful. Nice to see how it's done in ZBrush and you got a good result there too.

I don't have Klaus, I'm installing Pierre and will try to do a render or start one before I get some zzzzz's.

It must be so late (or should I say early) in Florida right now. Get the zzzz first, Pierre will wait.

9am Central time. (Up since 4pm yesterday) It's okay, I'm off schedule because I have to stay up all night to keep a heating pad turned on for the stray cat. We were 10 degrees colder here in Florida than ANCHORAGE ALASKA!

I have Orianne. Maybe I can put them together. They might not have hair if they take too long to render. You want a closeup of the face, right you two?

    Yes, please!
No hair is no problem - but it's always interesting what a non promo picture looks like!

BTW, while waiting for studio to do it's thing, it seems when I installed the latest version to be able to do Z Brush, it made Products go way out of whack. I have three or four S's, two P's, etc etc and everything is out of order. Would that be reimport meta data or what? I did find the O's and working on Orianne. She is VERY similar to V4 base, the only thing I really saw change was her chin and just a slight face outline.

Okay, she's rendering with those white streaks. I tried AOA advanced spotlight and adv. ambient. I tried two other light sets. Shadow samples are 28, .20 shading rate, pixel filter width 10.16, etc. Had this once before- forgot how to get rid of it. I thought it was shadow samples but at 28 that should take care of it.

I picked up Klaus. Hmm. I don't care for him. He has pink under his eyes and a white line on his lower lip. Not my favorite look.

I changed the face from Plastic to Matte but left the body, and sure enough, that fixed it. Rendering now.

Pretty cool! Interesting to see your progress, and thanks for explaining your work! I don't have ZBrush (nor am I likely to get it anytime soon) but some of this information will be applicable to those using other modeling programs.

Oh, I don't like under the eyes either. Totally agree. He looks like he's suffering from the flu. Thanks for showing us.

Here's the lights I used for Orianne. Her diffuse is BLUE and you can change that- I didn't. My lights were mauve and dull. Four distant lights, all around her- front, back, sides. In case anyone wants a quickie setup (I did this first try btw, not finely tuned but I think it did the job.)

Distant 1 on OUR left 255/234/213 for color, intensity 41.8% pale peach

Distant 2 Front view, but use Default and it will be from her feet level. Lights up under the chin nicely. 206/197/183 color, dull mauve. Intensity 35.1%

Distant 3 Front and OUR right, 206/197/183 a dull mauve. 35.1%
    Distant 4 Our Right /Front 213/195/166 darker mauve 23.4%

Click to enlarge, click again for details.
Let me say this- she renders FAST (without hair.) It's on .20 shading rate.
That pink area on her upper forehead is my light I think.

Here's one with the right/ front light up to 56% and changed to 248/228/194 Medium/light peach instead of the 213/195/166 dark mauve.

Thanks Scott-L. I still have some questions about it (doing DAZ figures in Z) but am putzing and researching. The program is DEFINITELY worth getting.

One thing I am noticing with Orianne is the shadows under the eyes. It's not the lighting. However, that adds realism. :)
