Have you guys had a chance to check out Filatoon? I'm having a blast with it!
Oh my word that looks amazing. How much tweaking did you have to do to that?
Thank you. It took a LOT of tweaking and experimenting of both the shaders as well as the Filament Draw Options settings. I'm about to submit a product to Daz3D though that has the presets (shader presets and scene settings presets). The PAs got the shaders early and, sadly, I was out of town and away from my computer so couldn't get the product made and submitted before the release of Filatoon, but I'm hoping to get it submitted to Daz3D shortly. I'm working on a tutorial to go with it.
Please please please
Great render @3Diva ! Really love the pastel colour scheme!
Filatoon has definitely brought a lot to the table, I've been having fun playing around with it and whilst it's taking some tweaking to get closer to the anime style I want, it'll save a tonne of time going forward,
Here's to hoping we see a lot more NPR art here soon too with how accessible Filatoon is,
Cartoon filter in the Gimp on Daz Studio render.
@Phloki3d Your character looks AWESOME in Filatoon!
@Artini That turned out really cool! I love that Filatoon can do emissions.
Filatoon really is a game-changer for NPR renders!
Thank you very much, @3Diva
I really like the instant rendering times of Filatoon in Daz Studio.
I'm really enjoying bringing out older figures and rendering them with Filatoon. This is the Star! Original Figure by Lady Littlefox: https://www.daz3d.com/star-original-figure
Awesome, @3Diva
I have also accumulated a large collection of Lady Littlefox
and the previous generations of the 3D figures during the years.
It is great to see that they still works so well.
Thank you! And I agree that it's great to see the older stuff working so well! And it seems like a lot of the pre-Iray textures appear to render a bit better with Filatoon rendering. :)
One reason you can make pre-g8 characters look better with Filatoon, is because you can get away with using zero textures on them. Lips, nipples, nails, the individual portions of the eyes all have their own material zones. As in, you could just assign those a solid color and your off to the races. This translates very well into something like a toon shader, where lack of detail works in your favor. To this end, when I am using a hair model in Filatoon, I strip it of all textures, save for the cap opacity map. Between the outline, rim color and shadow smooth setting, I get plenty of detail.
Those are great tips! Thank you. By the way, I'm so tickled pink to see you back in the forums and posting again! I've missed your fun NPR work!
I'm loving rendering the older figures with Filatoon. Here's the original The Girl figure https://www.daz3d.com/the-girl
I love how these look hand drawn and not like a 3D image trying to look hand drawn.
Thank you! The figure helps a lot with that hand-drawn look, I think. The original "The Girl" figure is stylized so well! :D
Here's another sneak peek at one of the other styles that my product will be able to create.
Before and After my shader presets and draw settings:
Did my first NPR book rendered in DAZ. Really happy with the stats. The ebook is free today if you guys want to check it out. It's number two right now.
@ArtAngel That's a cute looking book! Congrats on the success of it!
