Horo: Impressive crater/terrain work! I too consider the flames of the lander (which is hardly noticeable on my monitor) slightly too bright and distractive.

Mermaid: A majestic mountain scene! Great terrain, mats and sky.

spuddy: Great idea to add a person for scale in the shore scene. The snow material in your second image reminds me rather of a sandy beach.

adbc: Cool and powerful abstracts! The 2nd one is my favorite there, it is imo much less distractive regarding its coloring and structures.

adbc - two very high colour contrast abstracts. The second is my favorite.

hubert - thank you. Yes, perhaps the scene would be better without the Apollo lander.

adbc, great looking abstracts.  The second is also my favorite but both are interesting and well done.

The tree was made in the Tree Editor and given my own materials. It rests in a gemstone from Gemstones Two The Hall set with a modified material. Everything stands on a Shadow Capture Disk from Hyper Textures Expansion. In the background a 2D-Face with my own material. Light from an HDRI and specularity by the sun.

Hansmar: I do agree, the sky is really the star in the first of your six pictures with terrains. Well done. In your second picture I like this lava-like looking material. Also well done. Your forth image has a nice mood. The mountains and the used materials look good in your sixth picture. Perhaps you could create a little more plasticity by adjusting the position of the sun? But of course it is the artist's decision.

mermaid010: Impressive mountain landscape. I find the material very well chosen and well used. And your picture has a lot of atmosphere.

Spuddy: Your first picture is awesome. Besides the rocks I especially love the water. Is it a material you created by your own? The terrain of the second one looks convincing. I am not fully happy with the snow material, I'm afraid. Frankly most probably I would not have recognized it as snow, if you haven't mentioned it.

adbc: Both abstracts are outstanding. If

Horo: Excellent illuminated, great Bryce tree. Also your moon picture is awesome.

Inspired by an old computer game i wanted to make an image with an antique relief. The relief is a picture from the internet, combined with a terrain to create the 3D effect, the old chinese lady is a character from DAZ3D and the rest was modeled by myself

NGartplay and adbc - thank you.

Electro-Elvis - thank you. Very nice realistic looking scene, the relief is just awesome. Great idea and superbly well done.

Electro-Elvis, that does indeed look like a PC game view.  I know because I've played tons of them :)  Makes me want to talk to the old woman and click on the water and relief or travel around the corner.

adbc - terrains are so versatile. Great lighting, looks like inside a cave, the dragon really fits in.

    @Horo, NGartplay, adbc: Thank's a lot.

@adbc: Great picture. Is it lit by the Bryce sun only?

@NGartplay: I have dug out Tomb Raider 4. Still fun to play.

    Horo : thank you.

Electro-Elvis : thank you. For the sky is used a free nebulae HDRI, modified so many times that I cannot remember where it came from.

A self made terrain with a material assembled from three different sets. Sky and ambient light by a fourth set. The lake is a 2D-Face.

adbc, your terrain background is awesome.

Horo, are you sure that that is not a photograph?  How beautiful the scene.  I want that ground texture.

Horo : I agree with NGartplay, it really looks like a photo, great texture on the terrain.

    Horo:
    - A wonderfully done tree and cool presentation.
    - A very realisitc lookign landscape. Wonderful lighting and coloring. I like those crisp mats.

Electro-Elvis: Impressive! Great composition, modeling and a well done relief. That lady adds much to the scene.

adbc: Magical spelunking! Cool terrain work, mats and coloring.

  • HoroHoro Posts: 10,644

    mermaid - thank you.

Spuddy, all three are well done.  I like that you can see the snow texture on the bumps and debris.

I remember trying to make a snowy tree (coniferous or so) in the past. I am too lazy to go look for the pages where I showed my attempts. And the Bryce files are on my old computer (which still works, but is very slow). Maybe I will look them up when it is Christmas Holidays (and I have time, I hope).

I should have visited more often. Now there are again too many great renders too comment on each of them, sorry. But you'all still do a great Bryce-job!

I really like the addition of the trees.  The trees on the right look the most realistic to me.

  • NGartplayNGartplay Posts: 3,116

There used to be a snow ap that was for Bryce (I thought.)  A user made a program that would add a layer of snow to an entire scene.  Wonder where I put that?  Since it's becoming winter here I should try to dig it out.

spuddy: Beautiful! Awesome snow work and the lighting is just magical!
