Every city and town in America has one, a place, usually just outside of town, a turn in the road, its always called, Deadmans Curve, naturally, every teenager has to try his or her luck on that curve, but sometimes, you lose, and when you do lose, well, that's why its called, "Deadmans Curve"!

    The Stude is a 3D Classics/aka. Nationale7 model.

Okay, seems I've run into a dilemma, I have an older Nationale7 model of the General Lee, nice enough model, even has the engine detail and all, hood opens and all of that, now like a lot of his cars, I need to use 3DL shaders in order to use the graphics, the graphics simply won't won't work with Iray shaders, no surprise there I guess, so using the 3DL shaders for the paintwork isn't a big deal, they work fine for rendering in Iray anyway, the only shaders I really have to change out are the chrome and stuff, while I do have a nice orange paint shader to use for the General, when I apply the graphics, or the imgage, evidently the images in the General's texture folder are on a much redder background, I imagine with a little bit of work, I can probably closely match the red/orange paint, but why the hassle?

I think the color was sort of between that orange and red.  Isn't there a script out there to convert 3DL shaders to Iray?  I thought I saw that.  By the same person who made the Iray to 3DL converter.

I'm sure there is, but I doubt I can afford too much, if I bought everything I could actually use! I would be way into debt, for the most part, when it comes to things like car paint, 3DL shaders usually work just fine, what it is is that the doors have an extra graphic, and it won't work with Iray shaders, so hence, I end up having to use the 3DL shaders, in which I can do the image set for the number on the side of the car, and the stars and bars on the roof, if you go look this car up at 3D Classics store over at Renderosity, you will notice that the coloration is off there a bit in his promo pix, as I said, the 3DL shaders, that is, car paint shaders work fine in Iray, you really only need change the chrome and possibly glass shaders.

Out of curiosity I did a serch for 3dl to Iray converter and drew a blank

Here is one I did with nothing but Iray shaders, it came out better than it ever did when I had to use 3DL shaders, (all before Iray came along), nothing like an old Edsel!

Changed my search parameters and found some (actually own one of themblush) here but they're basicly a preset substitution script instead of a converter

If you scan through this thread: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/256451/rssy-iray-to-3delight-converter#latest  you will see reference to it.  Right now it's a script someone made, but it's in the planning stages of becoming a product.

You evidently missed it, I got it for 50% off at one point, but then, I kind of keep an eye on certain things like car models, and when 3D Classics goes on sale, I usually don't have the money at that point either, LOL, when the 34 Ford Hotrod came out just a few weeks ago, I literally had to wait til I could afford it, at that time, he was having one of his 50% off sales, naturally on everything but the Ford Hotrod!
