For those who like Bugatti, 3D Classics just released this one today, looks pretty decent, I'm just not into European cars myself.

It's been sitting in my wishlist since it came out I think and as far as I can remember I haven't seen it on sale or I missed it if it was

You evidently missed it, I got it for 50% off at one point, but then, I kind of keep an eye on certain things like car models, and when 3D Classics goes on sale, I usually don't have the money at that point either, LOL, when the 34 Ford Hotrod came out just a few weeks ago, I literally had to wait til I could afford it, at that time, he was having one of his 50% off sales, naturally on everything but the Ford Hotrod!

Must have been when my internet was down as I check Rosity daily and am following 3d classics and should have gotten a notification

I usually can't afford anything these days.  I struggle to figure out what to get with the PC+ coupon, and usually can't take advantage of the other coupon for PA items.  If only my website would pick up.A few things needed for that to happen, though, that I probably can't talk about in the forum here.

I had gotten the Edsel years ago, but I usually wait for things like that to go on sale, about once or twice a year, 3D Classics, aka Nationale7's stuff goes on sale, then its a heyday of great stuff, this car comes with a detail engine and everything, thats why it is so expensive, I can remember when this car was only available for Vue, and Nationale7 wasn't intending to release it for Poser, when he did, I got into my wishlist right away and then when it went on sale, of course I got it!

I don't always wait for the sales, when it comes to the Ford Hotrod, I bought that one outright immediately as soon as I could afford it, but then it was still at its introductory price, which is usually about 25% off.

Thanks! took awhile to get it the composition to my liking, but the lighting is from IBLMaster, which really helps with HDRIs...

Cool image!  I like the "slice of life" type images.  I remember those!  For a while, I wanted one.  Then I was introduced to Toyota.

I used to have a Dodge Aspen which was the Dodge version of the Plymouth Volari, had nothing but problems with that car, Mopar and I never did get along very well!

My car history is not terribly interresting.  In order: 60s (not sure of the year now) Ford Econoline van.  Linkage used to jam...had to get out in the middle of the road to knock it loose, dangerous.  '66 Chrysler Newport 4 door, '69 Chrysler Newport 4 door with vinyl roof (partial), 383, posi-traction rear end.  '73 Toyota Corolla Wagon (previously used to tow a boat!).  '81 Toyota Starlet (I got 51 mpg highway with that baby!).  '90 Toyota Tercel.  '95 Toyota Corolla DX 5 speed standard transmission, A/C (my first car with it).  2003 Toyota Camry XLE with power front seats, heated front seats, all leather, power and heated side view mirrors, high performance 3.0 liter engine, high performance transmission, 5 body sized trunk, 6 CD changer/Cassette player/AM-FM radio, with good speakers (from the dealer, didn't get anything extra out of shop).  Still have that car.

Corolla wagon got me to work out of town for a couple years.  The Starlet was a bottom of the line car, lowest priced one they sold.  This was a carbeurated vehicle.  Two years later they made them fuel injected, my father-in-law bought one because he was so impressed with mine.  Less than a year old, I was on my way to work, going 30 mph down this street, when a girl in a Firebird stopped at a stop sign but didn't look, came right at me.  I tried to avoid her but she hit my rear quarter on the driver's side.  Rear wheel on the passenger side hit kitty-corner on the curbstone, and the car went over on the passenger side.  I was trying to regain control, hearing all this terrible sound, when I realized I was sitting on the passender door!  I had to climb out of it like out of a submarine.  It was sliding down the street, that's what the noise was.  Didn't break any glass at all.  Door wasn't pushed in from the weight of the car.  It was gouged from sliding down the street, though.  Rear axle was bent.  This was on Dec. 1st.  Didn't get the car back until Dec. 24th.  Imagine bumming rides to work out of town every day, borrowing a car to do grocery shopping, Christmas shopping, for a month!  But, that car stood up to some punishment and that's when I decided that I was a Toyota man.

The older cars are just simply better looking, however, I wonder, at the time those older cars were new cars, were they also viewed the same way we view the newer cars today?

I recall my dad saying that the new cars looked like squashed bugs when I was a kid

When I was growing up, we had the Pontiac GTO, and Camaro, Firebird, Chargers, (which are now 4 door sedans), and so many other cars that just had style, then we got to the 70's!

That's true, so many of today's cars look extremely similar.  I think that trend started with the introduction of the Ford Taurus.  Everyone wanted to make a car that looked like that, because of the raves it was getting.   I find a lot of cars look like the Toyota line these past few years.  Tough to identify a car for someone who doesn't really know the differences, say when they were robbed or hit and run, for witnesses and such.  Situtation like that makes it tougher to pay attention to details and such.

...when the Ford Taurus first came out, I remember my nephew saying that it looked like a bar of soap.

For myself most new cars all look the same hard to tell a Toyota from a Nissan from a Kia, from Chevy from a Ford. Even the new Mercedes sedans seem to have lost their "classy" style and blend in with everything else. Today, it's pretty much SUVs or what I refer to as "bug cars" (influenced by Ian Flemming's original Chitty Chitty Bang Bang story, where the characters described most cars back then as "black beetles").

...followed by the 80s which really introduced some lacklustre if not down right ugly styling.  Fortunately imports, which still had some sense of "personality", were becoming more popular as they got better economy and were just better built.

I really hated the cars that were literally a box on wheels.  I wondered how aerodynamic they could really be, despite clainms by the manufacturers.  One was made by the Toyota spinoff, Scion.  It really looked like a box on wheels.  Some nice paint colors, but uggggggly!
