There is something about this car that is driving me crazy. Look at the rear tire. The white wall is off center and it makes the tire look out of round! Can you fix it? Super nice car.

If you could open the mesh for this car, you could delete or hide one of the pipe choices. OR....just go to the surfaces tab for the car and scroll through each item listed and use the "opacity" dial to cut off one of them. May work unless tha chrome is grouped together like many are then you can't do it. I think I have that "goat", if so, I will open it up and see what can be done and get back with you here.

EDIT: I looked through all my 450 cars and I do not have a 69 GTO. WOW! I do have a 69 Firebird though.

    Dodge Coronet!

Cool!  What was the Dodge model that was the equivalent of the Chrysler Newport, 68/69?  I think it began with the letter M.  Was it Monaco?  Yeah, that was it...did a search...I remember those rear lights, the wedge shape.  A friend had one in the late 60s, same time that I had the Newport.

Here is a black 65 Dodge Monaco and a white 67 with the wedge type tail lights.

When I was a kid, this is what my dad drove everyday. A 1964 Plymouth Sport Fury. This same color. It had American mags on it like this too. 383 high performance, four speed. Interior was baby blue though. Very fast car. He called it "Sweet Thang!"....and THAT it was. Wish I could find a model of one, Id make it up just like his and do a 8x10 render for him to frame for his shop.

Set up a time line with two keyframes - rotate the background sphere along the y axis.. same for the wheels, which are separate objects from the mesh.. then in render settings, enable motion blur...(3delight) .. for some models the wheels are not rotatable, for that use a moton blur in post processing

Dog dishes?  Are you referring to the hubcaps?  We used to call those Baby Moons.  I think.  I never was really into this stuff, but I knew some of the talk, I had friends that were into it.

Driver's side, too.  I hate that.  Dangerous, especially in my neck of the woods.

It was quite a few years ago.  I'm sure I still have it...somewhere...but I haven't done anythign like this in quite a while.  Maybe I got it at ShareCG, maybe not.  I have no idea.  If I find it, I'll let you know where I got it.

Yeah, the white one looks like the model year of my friend's car.  His was a light metallic green, not an ugly green, either.  He loved that car.  He moved to California years ago...for all I know he still has it.  laugh  It would probably last long out there and still be shiny.

The really nice thing about the those tires, is that the wheel and tire bundle will allow you to use several different tire textures on some of the tires, the wheel and tire used were from 3D Classics, the baby moon I made in Blender.

  • Anyone have a chance to try the new Polish retro cars?

  • GLWoodardGLWoodard Posts: 3,335

I've looked at them, and have the bundle in my wishlist, money issues keep me from getting anything much at the moment, they look interesting, but they really aren't accurate models of anything, other than they mimmick General Motors products and a Volkswagon!

My uncle Stanley had an Impala like that.  I remember it because he'd pick us up to bring us to grandma's house every Sunday in it.  It was a metallic kind of tan, looked nice.
