  • I could be wrong, but these Tomasi characters look FaceGen-ish to me. Or easily achieved with FaceGen.

While there is a bit of a generic look to MagicBrush girls' faces, many of them do seem to have a haunting familiarity.

Does anyone recognise any of them?

The ones I have so far are:

Oh yeah I see the resemblences now.  Hmm, I seem to have underestimated how many celebrity lookalikes exist.  I'm not surprised, some actros are quite attractive and there many things that can be done with them.

Anyway, I hope MB doesn't turn this into his/her's thing as while I don't mind celebrity lookalikes, we need good quality original characters, too.

I was just glancing/checking through my own private list(s) of speculative/obvious/confirmed real people likenesses in DAZ compatible content, and I'm currently at 2,311 2,317 entries...

Just like in prior similar artforms like painting and sculpting, 3D character artists tend to work from what they already know.

Yeah that's completely understandable and I, like many others, go for the lookalikes on purpose anyway. I enjoy situations with MB and CJ where they're doing it but with their own style instead of going for a 100% accurate version, which is also a good decison.

I just like to also have good options for original characters too

From the promos, it's clear that this Charece HD is meant to be Imperator Furiosa, more likely, the Charlize Theron version.

  • HID Iris for Genesis 9 reminds me to Jodie Foster

Yeah she's definitely modeled after Jodie Foster.  This promo image is straight out of Silence of the Lambs:

  • Are we sure its not Lana Del Rey? devil

No. It's Vicey3D characters who are all instances of Lana Del Rey. But we also have one today. 55 ones and counting (plus 16 on the other side and some more that have been vaulted). The Lanaverse is becoming quite populated.

Kidding aside, my first thought was Alison Brie for Lydia.

V3D Lydia = a slightly younger Lynda Carter?  Just for the first image at least.

Does appear more like Allison Brie for the other promos though.

Yeah, I missed that. Good call.

Feel like I see some Emmanuelle Chriqui in there, but definitely not certain.

Also kidding aside, a BIG part of the Lana-thing there is that Vicey3D tends to favor Lana Del Rey esque hairsets for their character creation mockups.

I came here to say the same thing - The first promo made me think of Lynda Carter. Not sure if that counts as "looks like" but at least it wasn't just me.

I'm generally horrible with guesses so it wouldn't surprise me if it was Lynda. That first picture made me think Alison, but Alison has blue eyes.

Never noticed those MB characters had real-life counterparts, but, now that you mentioned it, I started seeing that girl from the House of the Dragon, Milly Alcock, in this one... https://www.daz3d.com/mb-sherry-hd-for-genesis-9-feminine. But maybe it's just me seeing things...

KrashWerks. I like KrashWerks character because of that.

B.t.w., I also think HID Iris is Jodie Foster.

Are those items listed as "original creations" canon (i.e., confirmed by the author)? I know many listed celebrities are just speculation, and I get it (though I think there should be a note stating that), but, if this is the case for the "original creations", I think they should be listed as "unknown" and not "original creations."

'Original creations' means that they are not based on anyone but are original characters by artists who normally do look-likes to help with misidentification

I know this, but I wanted to know if each of those was confirmed as an original creation by the respective artist or if it's a speculation.

Considering that in most cases the identification of a figure as a "celebrity" works only with one promo picture and only when one closes one eye and blinks with the other, the designation of "original creation" would be way more fitting for many more so called celebrity lookalikes figures. And "unknown" would mean, that we should every figure made by some of those PAs so be modeled after some "celebrity", which obviously isn't the case. So imho "original creation" is a much more fitting definition.

Of course you are free to contact each and every artist yourself to make sure about a figure being modeled after some celebrity and to what extent if it is important for you. smiley
