That's a sweet render, David! Love the lighting on Charlotte's face and the catchlights in her eyes. smiley

Chapter 10.  A bit of a departure from the main story.  I hope you enjoy!

    Sweet Nothings

  • Only one thing to say - fabulous posing.

Two possible tiny mods, his left hand on the counterpane & her left elbow. However it's fabulous as is, evocative and loving without being overt in any way.

    Regards,

    Richard

  • A gentle intimate portrait of a sweet moment shared between a couple.

Now the vignette.Certainly a funny moment with a bit of humor, hopefully Charlotte can convince him that a bit of bleach and a hot water cycle should suffice.  Under normal circumstances. Generally speaking.

  • Maybe with some Napisan (In the UK that's the trade name for an oxygen bleach powder originally targetted at in-machine lower temperature sterilisation of toweling nappies [daipers] for babies). We used it extensively for our eldest daughter, but the younger had more sensitive skin and the ammonia from toweling nappies made her bottom raw all the time. Had to stop.

    Regards,

    Richard

Thanks Richard.  I noticed her elbow after posing the hands, and was just too lazy to want to have to re-do any of that. frown

When Kurt's grandmother was young she was very poor. She used to boil her father's shirts, because he was a manual laborer and always came home very sweaty, and Kurt, being no laundry expert, just figured that's how it's done.  laugh

    Thanks for the kind words.

  • David R Chapter 11! smiley

Story: Oh dear, Sophie is really ramping it up... What's driving her though? Wish someone would shake some sense into her, tell her off and get her off this path. Ick. You kept the pacing great and ended with such a cliff-hanger. What did he find out about Charlotte's ex-husband?? surprise

Execution: Wow!! This was a demanding chapter and you really built up the skills to put it together just right. I'm taking notes!
The shots and shot angles are amazing, showing a careful plan of keeping things varied and really showing the interaction over the phone. From full (angled) shots to close-ups of the face. The interaction is very natural. yes
Lots of talk this time, so you really tackled the speech bubbles so well!! Love the use of the differentiated bubbles for who is speaking within the panel, in the next panel, on the other side of the phone etc. There was never a confusing spell there, and that's hard with all that conversation. Amazing job! yes

Clean layouts, great unrushed pacing, differentiated styles of speech for the characters too, careful planning, great posing and expressions as always. David, this is top-notch!! laugh

Wow, there is a serious bit of manipulation going on,  poor fool.  Completely out of his league.  But getting access to confidential documents has really added a sense of precarious threat.  We always knew she was a bit obsessive and unhinged,  but unhinged and smart and manipulative,  now that's a dangerous combination.  Raised stakes is the key to good conflict and dramatic tension.  You know your craft well.

Thank you FirstBastion.  Yes, Sophia is moving from annoyance to menace.

There won't be any update until January, so I'm posting this little teaser of chapter 12.

    What is Sophia up to?

  • David R I thought it high time I spend some more time in the Art Studio forums and what do I see??? I can't believe you have a teaser in here for your next chapter and never let us know!! surprise

What a surprise, that Sophia is up to no good. Sigh. She's putting me through more suspense than I want to handle... frown That gentleman in the elevator's expressions and poses are so good, and so are Sophia's subtle but very incriminating looks in the last two panels. WHAT is she up to?? surprise

Hey, Blue!  Well, discord was kinda dead and I just wanted to throw this in because it was gonna be a while before I finished the chapter.  When you see what Sophia is up to it will baffle you and eventually enrage you.  But I'm betting before all this is over you'll feel a little bit sorry for her. broken heart

I really liked the pacing of the panels, her face reactions, checking both ways,   it gave a sense of movement and time,  as we followed Sophia towards her dastardly deeds.  She really has some wires crossed up there. I know we live in a day and age when we are supposed to have more understand for people dealing with turmoil, but yah. Arson be bad.  Always.   Does she not notice all the other housing units across the courtyard,  in broad daylight,  potentially watching her,  doing her thing?

btw,  thanks for putting that large exterior assembled condo background to use.

oh yah,  kudos on the oblivious guy in the elevator.  That's how half the trouble in the world happens;  people not really paying attention to whats going on around them.

Yes, that will be a problem for her, without giving too much away. laugh

When I click on either of the links, I get a page that says "This connection is not private.  This website may be impersonating "charlottesmagiclife.com" to steal your personal or financial information.  You should close this page."  Then there is no way to continue.  I've never had a problem with this before.  I'm very sad, I really want to know how this story goes, I'm totally hooked!

Tried the site with both Firefox and Edge, and no warnings pop up.

Oh no!  I'm really sorry you're having problems with the website, Fae3D.  Try typing in https://charlottesmagiclife.com and see if that works.  If not I will continue to post to dropbox as well as the website.  Unfortunatley,  I burnt out a fan on my main pc and it is in the shop right now. sad  Should have it by the end of the week. Don't worry, I won't leave you hanging.  I really value your readership! laugh
