Again, thank you for sharing elements of your workflow.  Can really see and appreciate the difference between orc images.  Love what you are doing.

Thank you very much.  I'm feeling a bit more confident.  Plus, my workflow is much faster than it used to be, so there is the occaisional extra minute or two to put something together lol.

Your ghost render is outstanding.  Poster or painter worthy to be sure.

I did not know that was the cause of those weird spots lol.  I do far prefer to do most of my backgrounds in photoshop at the moment, at least for promo work.  My personal work, I like to use full sets etc. because well, that is why I bought them lol.  It is nice to have different options and hopefully, at some point, they will improve the environment tab and make it more functional as far as being able to position it etc.  We shall see lol.

I like how the fairy lady came out too with teh background. I think that is one thing that drives me crazy trying to get a background in Studio. I am taking notes of yours and LAdairs discussion. :)

Thank you. This is highly enlightening! I do a lot with layers, too. Just never tried to use them so creatively.

Now I think I need to give some creative postwork a try!

What LAdair said :) Thanks for sharing. I have to start doing experiementing with more of that myself. :)

Those last 2 renders were great. Funny how postwork is probably needed in a lot of renders that Studio just can't make look good enough without it. :) I am trying to catch up. lol

Well, I think it depends on what you are going for.  There are pros and cons to both ways of doing things.  I went into Daz with a (somewhat) digital painting background and I had decided from the very beginning that I would be doing postwork.  I did commit to doing Daz only renders for the first year, because I really wanted to learn as much of the basics of the program as I could before I started using postwork.  Because, knowing myself fairly well at this point. I knew if I made postwork an option the first year it would be too easy for me to say eh, I'll just fix it in postwork.  I wanted to take things as far as I could inside Daz and then start adding postwork.  The better I can get the final image in Daz, the easier and better the postwork becomes.   (I also spend a fairly large amount of time digital art tutorials. )

I pretty much have only done daz renders alone at this point. It makes sense to do so. If the finally image is better the less one has to fix, but maybe allows for more creativity. I do not really have a digital art background, so it's all new to me. I can do stuff in Gimp and a little in Adobe. I have done more texture creation than anything over the years. I might call even some of it clipart though I have not used a vector art program which makes the images better. :) I also like to model so I get a bit stretched. haha I have been working on the modeling part here lately. I have finally went through all the tutorials once now and there is a blender one coming up for making a creature. I am so tempted to sign-up for it. The learning is the fun part too. :)

The knowledge you picked up in Gimp will make Adobe much easier.  A lot of it works the same.  I am definitely stretched, generally to the max lol. I really really want to keep working at modelling and texturing but I can only do so much. Haven't given up on it though, I will get to it eventually.  And I agree, I think its the learning, more than anything that keeps me going.  I love learning how do to new stuff lol.

I just had to laugh.  As my husband went to bed, I asked him how the picture I was working on looked.  He says, " It looks great are you almost done?"  I say yes, almost.  His reply was, "Make sure you save it, I don't want to hear you screaming later"  I started laughing.  He knows me so well!

I have been able to do some adobe stuff do to knowing Gimp. I just need to learn where all the tools are. I am texturing and modeling and you are rendering maybe we could borrow each other or somethign like that?? lol

It sure sounds liek he does. How funny is that comment. haha

We need to hook up some kind of knowledge transfer directly from brain to brain lol!

Wouldn't it be nice to just share knowledge that easy.

That is too funny. And I think we've all been there. (The screaming at the computer, not the hubby reminding us to save the file...!)

Thank you!   Brushes are great but sometimes, getting the effect to look semi realistic can be a bit of a project.
