BS dForce Cloth Simulation Shaders look really useful for people like me who only kind-of-sort-of know how to use dForce. I do have both of the dForce Master sets, but I hardly ever use them because they're both quite unintuitive and they aren't in the smart content.

I also appreciate the BS dForce Cloth Simulation Shaders, they went into my cart quickly, along with https://www.daz3d.com/kolmio to add to my collection, https://www.daz3d.com/hedgerow-kit-3--fall-hawthorne-hedges-brambles-and-dogrose again for my plants collection and to use with USC2, and the absolutely gorgeous https://www.daz3d.com/fc2c-wicker-rattan-mr-shader-presets, there are some lovely wicker style chairs in the early SKUs that could be updated by them. To those PAs, my deepest thanks. Good stuff.

I finally remembered I had a cart and purchased it as I waited for a pizza to bake. Almost blew it.

Well crumbs, thank you for your kind words aha, the Wicker set ended up being more a labour of love than a money maker but I'm glad I finished it aha, even if just one person buys it and is happy with it I can feel like it's a job well done! Thank you for that :)

I bought it too, and I've waited a long time for someone to solve the problem of flat wicker in Daztopia. Thanks for always going above and beyond, @FC2C

I never get used to hearing lovely things about my products in the forums, you guys always make my day!  I'm always told that I put too much effort into

things that don't really make me much money but I just really want people to have shader presets they'll really be able to use and that look as close to real as possible! I hope I managed that this time around as well! Thank you! :D

@FC2C Please do not compromise your standards. You have been included into my ranks of PAs who make quality products which I will buy on if not the first day, as soon as I can. They bring me joy and light into my life. Thank you, Mary

I really had a lot of problems with the "Woven" knit shaders, but this one looks good to me so far.

@MikeD's new Classical Guitar is emphatically NOT a classical guitar. It looks like a Gibson L-00, which is a steel-stringed acoustic guitar. Classical guitars have nylon strings, which are much more uniform in width than steel strings, and, if not necessitate, are certainly strongly associated with, slotted headstocks, and typically don't have fret markers on the fretboard. Furthermore, the promos show the players playing with a pick and, when sitting, keeping the guitar on the picking-hand thigh rather than sitting in classical position with the guitar on the fretting-hand thigh. It's a well-made guitar, and the accessories look pretty good, too. It just isn't a classical guitar.

You are abselutelly right about it ... and about the reference guitar ... It started as a classical guitar project and ended up as a acoustic guitar ... I should have changed the tittle ...

I think https://www.daz3d.com/xi-na-van is from Fallout so should be editorial?

Like I said, it does look well made, and I did wishlist it, so if you want to repurpose it for a proper classical guitar product....

I think it's in the retroscifi style and definitely inspired by Fallout franchize, but probably far enough to not trigger editorial, just like their NA Market didn't.

  • It only has this bubble canopy similar to this particular Fallout 4 prop. The rest is generic van and the interior is modern, none of the Fallout 50s dashboards etc.

CB Ramsey. OK, not today's. I deeply appreciate the look of the powerful, angular women Cynder Blue creates. However, I have to say, I have more such characters (3) than I can use effectively & can't justify purchasing another. Much as I'd like to.

I got this on the first day but didn't get around to playing with it until yesterday. It's Aeon Soul's Wasteland Outfit. It's easy to work with and looks great. There are two products to go with it, Wasteland tops collection and Post-Apoalyptic add-on. It's for G8F and G9. This is a peak at a very basic look.

I want to give a shout out to @ChangelingChick and @RawArt, I think these are the only two PAs who've given us something shiny new as a doorbuster, at least so far. That's so kind and generous, thank you guys!

Also, I want to repeat what I've said elsewhere because she's keeping this up without fail: ChangelingChick's promos are really exceptional. I don't think there's any other artist going to such great pains to show us exactly what's included, and how the character appears under different lighting conditions. Especially love that last part, where all the lights she used are even specified. The characters themselves are also really fun to work with. I'm getting Talan today, and I LOVE the Kyrin (spelling wrong i guess, keep forgetting, sorry) package I got a while ago, with the unicorn people. They are among my absolute favorites ever, the morphs and skins are just amazing for fairytale-like or dreamlike settings.
So if anyone hasn't gotten any of her characters yet, then here's a most decisive 'recommend', and Talan is probably a great way to start with them!

Barnabus Ragwort looks very nice but I have to ask wiser heads: is there an advantage to do a standalone figure like this one compared to what someone like @Rawart is doing (making fantasy figures based on Genesis) or is it just because 'I want to do it like that' (a fine reason) ?

well I whipped up a clone shape for G8M today, not entirely happy yet, needs more work but will do for now

sorry cannot share and honestly not good enough even if I could
(it looks like a hideous G8M dialed up, the head and hands particulary, cannot fit gloves just a rough shape for clothes, I need to work on the feet)

first frame of an animation layer I am rendering

G2M aniblocks work, use the inbuilt pose controls for arms forward and out

Buying Ula expressly so I can make her the daughter of one of my characters based on a slightly older Zelara. The resemblance is huge, at least to me.

Indeed ~ and unfortunately TBH, an obvious faulty area is around the bridge... the strings on the saddle are too close ~~ There might be some "difficulty" on the right hand if "one plays it"... IMO. (I play acoustics and Ukulele)

    Hat Check check:

While the product is listed as G9 only (and I can understand why RSA would not want to make any claims that it works for G8), it seems to me that if it's making an effect volume that only cares about the SHAPE of the head, then it MIGHT work OK with G8s? I mean, it doesn't need to know about the figure's bones/structure, it doesn't need to know about the UVs, or anything else that is different from G8s to G9s. Just the shape of the head, and heads are much of a muchness ... am I way off base here?

(I ask because being able to use this, even imperfectly, on G8s would change it from a 'meh, I'll bookmark this and think about it later' product to a 'buy this now' product. I mean, I have uses for it for G9s, but that's not really sufficient.)

(Please don't point me to various G8 hat/hair fit tools.1) I almost certainly already own them 2) I almost certainly don't think they work very well.)

One of my pet peeves about rigid mode buttons is that they lack the charm of Generation 4. Cool collars too.

RiversoftArt said a G8 is likely to be release, so there is likely something dependant on Genesis 9 (no idea what it can be, I don't have the product):

Well, if you firstly change the Node Name to Genesis 9 as well as dial G9 clone on G8F/M... the script will work on G8 figures ~~

Alternatively, you can use the powerful collision plugin and HatsAreTheFashion... script from mcasual. They work perfectly for these cases.. even with better results.

I wish someone had an index of everything that's scattered on mcj's various drop sites. He wrote the one script I absolutely cannot operate without, one that saves me literally hours in every story I do. I can only imagine what other good stuff is lurking in those sites ... but I'm not going to click every title of every script on those sites to find out what they do.

Anyway, thank you. I don't know that I will use that right now -- it's not exactly simple to use, plus it requires the collider plugin and I'm at a point where I think twice before adding yet another plugin -- but it's nice to have that on hand in case I get so frustrated with the G8 hat/hair tools I currently have that I finally decide to take action.

The mcjhatsarethefashionoftheday system works well. I always have to read the instructions again each time I want to use it, because I forget what to parent to what, and what order to do things. It can be slow, but the results are good. You need both parts that crosswind linked.

This thread had some discussion about cats - I still use the Millenium Cat with my own tortoise shell texture.  Now I need to put a collar on it; I own the LS Cat Props Mappak 1 with separate materials, but I don't have the actual collar.  Does anyone know where I can purchase it?  Thanks!

I suppose the render presets released today by @MartinJFrost are for the Sun & Sky system ?

  • Reckon so. The results look pretty phenomenal. I've used Howie Farkes' Sun-Sky settings that came with USXT an awful lot, and these look just as useful.
