What you think? What great deals have you conjured up? Comparison to past sales. I guess this could go into the other sales thread but it ws always that we had a thread pertaining to March Madness.
My initial thought - pass so far, but a couple of those 80-85% oldies could be useful.

I'm glad it came a little early. The gold star thing is a bit annoying because unlike other promotions like the Christmas punch card sale, I'd like an indication that I have the discount being applied so I can confirm in my cart. But hey, at least we have over 8,000 items to choose from! Back to scrolling...
Depends for me on the $ 2.99 items each day turn out. Today I can get an item off my wishlist. But as it seems that it's mostly DOs in that sale and as I have only one other DO item that might get eligible (the other one is a DAZ+ item) I might not find many more...
And the oldies depend on which PAs get into those lists. Considering the lowest priced items are really, really, REALLY ancient, the amount that might interest me is miniscule.
So... looks like March Meh-ness is back in town
Well if you did not spent anything yesterday you get punished twice by not getting any deals today and probably missing that GC sale as well.
Interesting strategy, we will see if it pays out.
And how can there be a Still Mad Releases category on Day 1?
That is fairly common, they add the last day or two of the presale items.
Yesterday or the day before, I assume - if theya re using the same terms as for the MM items themselves. I did buy yesterday, and not Saturday, so I can't test.
Where do I see that I have a gold star? Or how could I tell that I have a gold star?
Currently just by the prices in your cart, I'm afraid - we have asked if there will be a visual marker.
Thanks, I figured it out. It's 50% off instead of 30% for newly mad items and on top of everything I get additional 10% off because I have Daz+.
Do you know if the gold star is active immedialty after purchasing something or if it's only active the next day ?
And regarding the Last 2 Days mention, do you know if it's yesterday and the day before yesterday or today + yesterday ?
It's not March. How can there be March Madness?
Also, how can I spend March's budget in February? February's budget is gone.

That seems to be part of the madness.
Seems to be yesterday and the day before, as I get the gold star discount and purchased something on saturday but not sunday. Which would mean today's purchase would count tomorow.

In another discussion, @wsterdan did a purchase today but does not currently get licences discounted, so it feels likely that a gold star is only actived the day following a purchase and will stays active for two days after the last purchase over $1:

I just noticed I forgot to answer your other question. It is the 2 previous days, so yesterday and the day before.
I think the daily discount item could be useful, but no way am I scrolling through 7k+ items to see if there's something I want.
I think the gold star discount will be a nice little bonus if it happens organically... but I'm not making every-other-day purchases just to keep a 10% active, and my spending pattern makes me think it's even more likely to expire unused for me than the tokens, which usually also expire.
So, the base structure is entirely uninspiring for me, but maybe there will be a nice flash sale or a daily add on or something. Last year was a wash for me until the end (and of course St. Pat's) so I'm in a wait-and-see holding pattern. If it doesn't pan out... well, it's disappointing when that happens but it wouldn't be the first time, and maybe the next one will.
MM often starts out pretty tame. Maybe it will get better.I don't chase tokens or stars. If I get some because I buy something I want, then OK, I'll use them on something else I want, unless they expire first.
Today is only the intro, the prelude to March Madness or maybe March Madness Lite. I think it's going to steadily improve, not that today is so bad. I don't have any gold stars, but I got a nice item for $1.99.

I'm inclined to be selective today. When cart testing stuff I was hitting the minimum prices for multiple categories, which is bleh for various reasons.
It should ramp up later, especially after we actually enter March. I'm hoping for a themed character bundle this Thursday to finish off the month. Would be nice to have a great bundle with March Madness savings, too!

Am sad there's no Daz+ For A Day (or similar). That's always been a popular promo, although the last few years there have been complaints because the price was more than the original $1.99 (I think it was $5 or $6 last year.) Too bad. I believe it would be a better deal for the PAs as well, since they'd earn more than with a $2-$3 floor price.
I think I would label this sale as March Slightly Quirky. I don't think a full psychological break has occured yet which means the slave driver managers are not working their minions hard enough. Come on now break those minions lets see some real madness like everything for $1.99 from now until March 31st!
I have no idea about the discounts.and I won't be taking part as I'm now a scub after milking my $9.64 offer for the Daz Champagne Diamond Tier.
It's got silly with all the systems now imho.
There is a section with some really good discounts that says "applies to licenses" but it's not "applying" anything to licenses so I'm out.
Also all the Pro Bundles have now gone again, like they did when the character/add on started , which is shows very poor customer respect.
I used to get the Pro Bundles but sometimes they were just out of my price range. I went to compare the price of the Tara 9 Pro Bundle, which was $229.99. Both Tara Bundles right now, baseline, are $189.99, and the only item not in any of them that were in the pro bundle is Succubus Hierarchical Poses for Tara 9, priced at $18.99. So that's $208.86 total instead. I dunno if this applies to all of the bundle combinations and how they were split, but at least it isn't more than the Pro Bundle used to be. And that isn't taking into account you can use a free coupon on the currently priced $64.99 Tara 9, get the other at $23.40, use some tokens and...yeah. A great deal. I paid $43.38 for the Pro Bundle, which was also a great deal, but it's definitely comparable to what we can do now, with Premier anyway.
With the free monthly coupon, I spend less for about the same amount for one of the new releases. For that to work I need to take advantage of the reduced prices for having the non-free bundle in my cart with one of the buy-in products to reduce it, then plus the tokens. I've gotten one of those down to $16.98 before. I think one of the purposes is to also give us options and make it less of a mess, because some characters had the Pro, also the starter, then the MEGA, not to mention Victoria and Michael both had several themed bundles, Freja 9 had a couple...just too many bundles. Now we have just the two and I like it better that way.
I only bought a few G8 Pro bundles after they were heavily discounted ($30 or less) after G9 came out. Very few pro bundles had enough content that interested me to justify the price. I kind of prefer the way they're bundling things now, though the Rebel bundle is pretty light on content.
Not sure where you're seeing that. I just scrolled through every DO G9 bundles in the store and there isn't a single inactive one, so maybe try clearing your cache and see if that fixes it. All the G9 bundles are being separated like some have already so you're not going to see Pro, starter, mega anymore, unless they forget to take those down once transferred.
Maryam 9 HD Starter is showing as inactive in my WL as of the last day or so.
