Well first I like that there are Iray scenes already done with lighting, you can do daylight, dusk, and sunset. Then likewise for 3DL.

And oh my gosh, you're gonna LOVE it. The water is fantastic and renders SO fast. I had to adjust the boat (it has water in it, you will need to raise it for a dry-bottom boat.)

ONE MINUTE EIGHT SECONDS AT 52%    smiley   (EDIT: redoing as I didn't like the focal length, increased it.)

Done at 7 minutes 35 seconds. Out of the box, no tweaking. This is huge, a 1400 x 1300 too!

oooo it's looking good! Can you make things invisible to render inside the 'folly' etc? Walls, ceilings etc? And of course, the water, if you just want to render hte folly on its own?

The dock is separate, the building is one piece but yes, you can make it disappear and have a lovely platform, the steps can be turned on and off, the building is fine without it. Everything is well thought out. The water is also separate.

Thank you Novica, and SOLD! LOL. His store is one of the 50/60% off if buying a new release (and that includes ANY new release, such as a PC one) so I'm definitely getting it.

Following up on my test of doing sub-categories using Content Cataloger Easy, I spent a couple hours today cataloging all the needed subfolders in My DAZ 3D Library and made a simple index page bookmarked in my browser.  Now it's a quick click to get to a catalog and the pages are small enough to navigate easily.

I haven't posted anything for ages, so I thought I'd put something together using some recent purchases.

I picked up Sweetie Faces for Tween Julie 7 (PC+ item) purely because it was the cheapest item available to trigger one of the sale deals - I don't actually own Tween Julie, so I thought I'd try one of the faces on Teen Josie 7 instead - this is the Jo face, though I tweaked her jaw size (a little bit too pointy on Josie) and shrank her eyes some (I always find Josie's a bit large). The skin texture is from Growing up Skin Merchant Resource for G3F - I always like the eyebrow selection that comes with that set. The hair is one of the items I picked up in that amazing stacking sale: Side Tail Hair (by outoftouch).

The outfit was also a "bought because it was cheap and triggered a deal" item - it's Autumn Chic Outfit for G3F (PC+) which allowed me to get a discounted GC. The clothing texture is from Cozy for Autumn Chic (PC+) which scored me Black Friday super-deal. (Yes, I am cheap!)

ETA: 3Delight render - Advanced Ambient Light and a spotlight.

Looks really good MelanieL. I'm judy as cheap and picked up the chic outfit for that same reason lol!  I think I may like it more than I thought I would now that I have seen it.

OT- Sorry I've been en absentia, it's that time of year again to adopt needy families through the local agencies (and I work with one particular person- thought she was a social worker, she is the Director of Operations for the main umbrella to coordinate all the agencies!)  so I've been shopping! One family is a mom and a 10 year old son and 12 year old son, they have nothing. They just got housing but have no kitchen items, very little clothing, etc. I have to say Kudos!!! to the JC Penny salespeople, I told them I needed to get the most bang for my buck on really nice things, and they gave me a print out of a coupon to get 25% off my entire purchase or 10.00 off a 25.00 purchase (BTW, that offer is still in effect, and you can use the 25% off one over and over again.)   There is a sale on 26.00 ultra soft ribbed Arizona shirts (down to 7.00+change, and I got them for $5.37 (two for each boy.)  So then I bought groceries and stockings/stuffers and JUST got home a couple hours ago.

My dilemma was the toy to buy a 10 and 12 year old boy that I didn't know, and I decided on electronic darts. But then I saw this- and if you have kids, check it out-  there is a neat Nerf toy that shoots gently, the barrel goes around to line up the little dart as you pull it back to load the air. You shoot little balls that are MID AIR, floating! And it looks like Marvin Marshian sci-fi weapon, not a real gun, it's too big and bulky. So see if your store has the Sharper Image (company) Hover Target Game. It was 36.00 marked down to $25 and with the discount (25% is 6.25) it's 18.75! I asked my neighbor to help me test it, and we ended up playing with it for over an hour lol! (She's ex-Marine and I'm ex-Army so it was game on!)  There are ports for the air to blow up, and the balls just float- so cool. I just typed Hover Target Game in jcpenny.com and it is online, and there is that code to get the 25% off. So thought I'd mention it- it is really fun! But if you want to be sure they don't sell out, I would hoof it and go get it at the store. It will be by the boy's department, probably second story. It's where they have the over-the-door basketball hoops, magnetic darts. A great toy for hard-to-shop-for people or needy families you don't know.

Rich- I'll have to review all that when I try it, but it will probably be January before I can get to it. December is jammed packed. One question- are you redoing files in the Creator, or are you doing the files in Windows and then the Creator is simply reading that configuration? Without having even cracked the program open, I probably shouldn't even be asking you, but I'm trying to wrap my mind around this.

MelanieL- cheap pays off- lovely combination of hair, skin, and morphs! And of course, I do love those eyebrows, very natural looking. Have you thought about Growing Up and kidding her?  (wow, that sounds absolutely WEIRD.)  She's quite lovely, excellent job! Thanks for sharing!!!

Here's Parker, coming soon- I turned Lakeside Folly into a Ocean Shower House. You Folly, I'll Shower. An incredible amount of time went into this seemingly simple lil thing- I tried Wet and Tanned Skin, Rigged Water Iray, Drips and Drops (didn't work well on the male, it is for G3F)   used ALR for Iray (Architectural Lighting Rig)  lighting to get the light for the showerhead, and i13 Bath and Shower Pose Collection.. I would probably increase theskin bump a bit more- that's easy to do.

I kept the droplet splashes fairly subdued (look close on the elbow area on our left, they go a different direction.) I don't have any more time to work with it but thought you would enjoy "as is." Parker will be joining newcomer Damen soon (by DarwinsMishap, be sure to check out that thread here in Art Studio to see the other renders of Parker. I still haven't posted my Western Sheriff here yet, I'll get to it.

So, anyone ready to go oceanside? Parker will be coming as soon as D.M can do the promo renders and submit them, etc. The first image is 1200 tall, if you want to click/enlarge.

Thanks, Sonja and Novica laugh I didn't try any youth-ening morphs as I was just experimenting to see how those Tween Julie faces might work on other figures.

Nice renders of Parker - did you see DarwinsMishap has put up a Commercial thread for him now? I hope I have some pennies left in the budget for when he hits the store as I like the look of him so far!

I'll have to go post some of these over there, I hadn't been online yet today. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the discounts, there's X% Holiday, 10% today only, 50% for three or more items of Zeddicuss.

Will be back online later tonight, have you folks who are buying / bought three things calculating it out to see if it's correct? Edit- it's correct. It's off the ORIGINAL price, not the discounted one. Sigh. You think I'd learn.

I wanted to recommend Khory's new shader set the Decorating Neutrals for Iray.  Wow this set is HUGE, and beautifully done.  Anything and everything to redo an entire room from floor to ceiling plus all the furniture and decorations.  Highly recommend, for the price right now its an absolute steal

  • He looks quite nice, Novica!  Thank you.

How do you get the great price? Do you have to put other stuff in your cart?
  • NovicaNovica Posts: 23,887

I am seeing it at $9.68, with three new things in the cart, an orange popup, and a Holiday discount. Let's chat a minute here- it's a bit awkward to be specific about discount prices when (I found out earlier this evening) people are getting different Holiday discounts. Because it has a white background and the page is white, and it's not a popup banner in appearance, I assumed it was part of the permanent page and the same for everyone. I'm not sure if I'm the last person on this planet to know that the Holiday discount varies greatly (I haven't been surfing many threads) but I've seen from 5-30%. So if anyone is confused about what others are saying is a price, there's that variance in there. I don't know if everyone even got the orange banner today, I own most of Zeddicuss' products and that's the emphasis for today. They do rotate who gets popups and sometimes I don't even get anything! Wouldn't it be nice if we could pick our popup times?  devil

So, with the varying Holiday discounts (and if you did/didn't get an orange banner) I'm a bit hesitant to mention deals. If I find something really awesome (I'm just now shopping) I will mention them for you. I hope I don't offend anyone who wasn't currently on the receiving end of a popup this time, again, I know what it feels like to not get a great discount with a popup (aka, no popup at all) and it's not a warm and fuzzy feeling. I just appreciate the ones I do get- I think it's a very nice thing for Daz to do. During the holidays, it sure helps!

I just meant that even with just the 30% off there is a large amount of different shaders in this pack. and they are all beautiful neutral colors that mix and match perfectly.  The patterns and the weave of the fabric match very well the different carpet weaves and fabrics and the different paint finishes as well as beautiful woods and stones and shaders for accessories like bowls and statues etc.  Its really a very well done comprehensive set.  I paid a bit less than the $15.97 but didn't get it quite as cheap as Novica posted, as I had no need for any of the new releases. but in all honestly, even at $15 this is a pretty good deal for what you get

Thanks, I'll take a close look at it. I like well-made Iray shaders.

I bought it (Khory's shaders) and I just love it! Thanks for the suggestion, Sonja.

Well, to give you an idea of how complicated things can be- or how long it takes to check and see IF things are complicated, I started back at the Edgy sale and did what it needed to qualify, and I have paper in front of me saying this sale is this percent with this many items in the cart, don't remove this one as it triggers these products in the cart...sheesh. Then I almost forgot the room kit bundle (free if you get a new release from X and a character/bundle- I picked up Rune)  So I'm getting used to scrolling down each section under each banner advertisement, and writing down which vendors are there, and what's offered. It's getting a bit silly. I took a lot out of my cart, budget still shot after the last sale, but I will be posting a few new characters. I got mostly poses due to the price. (Thank you Zeddicuss!)

  • barbultbarbult Posts: 24,247

I bought Khory's shaders and nothing else. That is my first purchase since this holiday sale thing started. The sale is just too complicated and time consuming to be worth the effort right now. I got tons of stuff in the PC+ sale that I haven't even used yet. I think I'm burned out on sales. frown

  • NovicaNovica Posts: 23,887

I think City Chic Too would look good with leggings. (It's in one of the discounted stores.)  Use fabric shaders and you can get some really fun combos due to that jacket- have the jacket and leggings match.

Fisty and Darc- thank you SO much for the free leotard!  I love that it has different sleeve lengths. Perfect- THANKS!!!!!!  (And it's truly FREE, no purchase required.)
