Ah, thanks, MN-150374. I knew there was one somewhere. I had both the V4 and M4 to G2 converters on my wishlist so I knew I had seen them, just couldn't remember if I had actually picked them up yet. I'll pick those up next time I see those on sale if possible. I already have all of the other ones you mentioned so I should be good to go with converting everything once I have those first two scripts.
Yeah, I liked the comparison of seeing all four generations together. It was an interesting experiment. In future, I'll probably transfer most of my V4/M4 figures straight up to G2 as I use G2 the most still. I am using G3 more and more now that I've picked up more helper products for G3, but I still have more toys to help G2 do all of the things I want them to do at the moment.
Okay, for anyone who wants to see what I did with Angel, you can find it here on my DA page. Obligatory nudity warning.
Gorgeous work! I love the dramatic lighting.
Thanks, Diva! :)
Beautiful!
Thanks. Always nice to know when I did good. I saw your comment on my DA page. I appreciate it. Sometimes, I never know if I actually did as good a job as I think I did. I've gotten a lot of great responses to that picture so I think it's safe to say I did okay with it. :)
And then there is the question of, if I didn't get any likes is it because no one likes it, or did they not see it? Or is the moon going widdershins around the sun? I can never figure out what makes people like things and what doesn't. I'm always amazed at what has the most likes in my own stuff, its usually not my personal favorites. Same thing happens with my beads. I will put up a set of beads that I think, quite frankly, are butt ugly but those are the beads that get the bidding wars. My favorites will of course take months to sell.
Your stuff is always well done. I think this one looks particularly life like, her pose is very natural and she looks like she is actually sitting on the cube and not perched precariously on the top with no give in her skin.
Yeah, some of my highest liked images in my gallery really surprised me when that happened. Usually, it's because I can still see the mistakes in there that I didn't know how to fix at the time. Some things I really liked, barely get glances. While not everything in your galler is to my taste, I usually try to like the ones that I see that I really like. I seem to miss a lot of images, though. Sometimes, I actually have to go track some down if I happen to see them in the forums. I really need to go to the gallery, too. I haven't been there in a couple of days.
As for my girl, a lot of that has to do with products like i13's Squish for G2F and Muscularity Morphs. They really help bring out the realism for poses like that. I wish there was a Squish version for the guys. That would be awesome! I love all of the morphs in that package for seating a figure. There are enough morphs to compensate for almost every sitting position. I might have to do some of my own morphs for the guys now that I'm finally figuring out how to do morphs properly in Blender.
Although, here's a thought I didn't think of until just now. I wonder how they would work transferred to the guys with GenX. I did that one experiment before and it worked rather well. Dramatically different, but good. Hmmm, I may give that a try. To be cont'd....
No worries I don't expect everyone to like everything lol. And I frequently miss things as well. I keep trying though lol. I'm really far behind at Deviant Art, I spent several hours in between phone calls today just getting caught up with my thank yous.
You reminded me, I have th squish morphs and should really start using them more. I'm going to have to do some digging and see if there is a way to bring those to the top of the list to remind me I have them. I would love some squish morphs for furniture.... There are several things I could have used those on. I know I don't have the muscularity morphs for G3M but I know I don't have them for the G3F yet. I have them for the other generations though
Yeah, I have the newer ones for G3, too. They really make a difference is you are going for realism. Or at the very least, a butt that looks like it is sitting and not sinking into a box or floating above it. :)
Strangefate's new Armor is out. Everyone should take a look at Kadis - Ancient Legendary Armor and the accompanying texture pack, Kadis - Warmaster Texture Pack. I had lots of fun testing them out and some of my images actually got chosen as promos. Ice Dragon Art did a great job on her promos, too. Take a look thru her thread for her promo art. I think that link takes you to her first image with the armor. She has lots of pictures using the armor on her thread.
Here are some of my images:
Miss Evillette: My all time favorite image that I created during testing! So excited it got accepted for a promo image. :)

I could not quite get the lighting exactly like the Iray version. Not too happy with those shadows on the floor.
I'll post some more images soon!
Evilette is cute!
I know! I love how she turned out! :)
So flashback to where you were talking about transfering morphs from one figure to another...if I may...
I have GenX and other tools to do this. But I've never actually done it. I'm not sure what it is that I would exactly want to do to accomplish this. For example, if I use David 3, I normally use the full body morphs and some of the body shaping morphs. But he has lot of morphs; many that I never use. So I would want to transfer just the morphs that I use? And then I would need to be able to use the textures on what ever character I was trying to move the morphs to? (I don't think there are any products that let you use David 3's textures on other figures.
Your images are all generally very nice, knittingmommy. I think I like the one with the lady and the Centaur (Or what ever he is) the best. Like the angle and all.
Just curious for the guy on the previous page. He looks very nice, but...why did you want him to have white hair?
Thanks, KevinH. I chose the white hair for him because he's an albino. Since I was using the original albino skin, I chose the white hair. He's a handsome fellow. I haven't tried a regular skin on him yet, but I plan to do that.
As for which morphs to transfer, you have two options. You can transfer all of the David 3 morphs as the David 3 figure and then you can dial in just the morphs you use on him one at a time and save those as specific morph presets for the figure you are transferring up to. Or you can dial in all the morphs you use on him if you have a specific character you've created for him and transfer that character up to a newer generation. There is a GenX package that handles the David 3 Figure. This one. Or the bundle that has it also. Then you also need the add-on for the figure you are moving David up to.
I'll help all I can. I have David 3 and the GenX product for him so I can help walk you through the process when you're ready. Just let me know.
Thank you very much for the shout out. I was very pleased to see your Evilette, she is such a cutie! And your minotaur one is one of my all time faves!
Thanks knittingmommy. That is most generous of you. I have all the figures from Michael 2, Victoria 2 through Genesis 3. Plus I have that GenX package you mentioned.
Normally when I use David 3, I load him, and then load the full body morphs and the face morphs. I use some of the body morphs, and then depending on what the scene needs, I will apply some of the face morphs. So what do I need to do? Write down what morphs I typically use? Or save the character out with the morphs applied? I'm probably only using a handful of morphs at any given time.
I didn't notice that you character was an albino. I just noticed that he had a really toned body and that he had really white hair!
Thanks again.
Yeah, Miss Evillette is a keeper. I'm planning another render with her soon. That Minotaur image is one of my favorites, too. I was so excited when I saw that image coming out of my screen when it was rendering. I just wasn't sure anyone else would like it as much. @FirstBastion even put it in his Art of the Promo thread. I was floored! I've never been so excited about as I have been today with regards to my art. I actually feel like an artist today instead of just someone who tinkers just a bit.
I'll have to load David up to let you know for sure, but my first thought would be to load up David 3 and then load up the morphs you usually use and save that as a preset to the figure you want to transfer to. Then later, if you find any morphs that you need that aren't there, you can load up David 3, load just that morph and save it as a morph preset that can be applied as a morph instead of a full character. That way you can have your character that you usually use and then extra morphs that you usually use for different occasions. Give it a try and see how you do.
If you find you need help, just load up your David with your preferred morphs and save it as .duf file. Since I have both David and the morphs, I should be able to open a .duf file using them. Then make a list of any extra morphs and we'll see what we can do. I don't think we can attach a .duf file to the forums, but if you do dropbox, you can PM me the link with the list of extra morphs.
Good luck and let me know if you need help.
Ah, fudgesickles!!! I have this beautiful render setup for @DarwinsMishap's Mariposa and it rendered all night and I hate that the white dress I have on her is totally blown out! Aargh, I have to render it all over again now. Sigh, such a rookie mistake, too. I should have added just a touch of gray to the diffuse color so it wouldn't blow out. I don't think there is any way to save that in post either. At least, not with my current skill level. I was so looking forward to seeing it this morning, too. Anyway, she's rendering again and the dress already looks much better.
BTW, Mariposa is a beautiful character. I don't have Genevieve yet, but she is beautiful even without the base character.
Pure white and Pure black are just about the worse colours for rendering or painting even. Photography as well can hiccup with them depending on the light
@Chohole Yeah, I don't usually try to render pure white for just those reasons, but I simply couldn't resist those pure white textures with the new Boho dress that came out yesterday. Ah, well, live and learn. :)
I really like the render with the moon and the minotaur. That's the sort of camera framing that makes a fantastic piece of art!
I passed on the Anchient Lendary Armor because I don't go for the impractical, skinwear armor. Besides, those shoulder plates have gotta be 100 pounds a piece. Even if they were made of plastic for a costume, they would be cumbersome and hinder arm movement. But hey, we get away with things in a virtual environment that we can't in the real world.
Yeah, I'm still amazed that I actually did that image! Everything just came together very nicely with that image. I was super excited to see how many of my images got accepted as a promo for the armor and the texture pack. @FirstBastion even selected the Minotaur image as one of the images he highlighted in his Art of the Promo thread which I'm still over the moon about. I think I was in shock for a good bit and couldn't quite believe that happened when I first found out about it. :) I hadn't even seen the thread until @Kismet2012 gave me a heads up by saying "go look at this". And, she didn't even tell me why so it was a total shock to see that picture in the thread when I got there!
I can understand that sentiment. Everyone has their own level of how much they are willing to give up reality for fantasy.
I didn't want to ruin the surprise.
Well, it was a very nice surprise! :)
I finally finished my render of Mariposa by @DarwinsMishap. I liked her morph very much when I saw her without Genevieve and she really looked like she needed a soft romantic type image. I was going for a slightly vintage photo type look which I hope I managed okay. I really like how it came out. This is without Genevieve 7 which I don't have yet. Rendered in Iray, post in Gimp 2.9 Beta.
I think you did a great job, she looks lovely and soft in this render. Well done, and thank you!
I'm glad you like it, DM. I always worry a little bit what PAs will think about what has been done with their creations. I would hate to disappoint one of my favorite PAs. :)
Congratulations on your Promo Artwork! Great Renders!
I do not own any Generation3 Figures (Victoria3, Michael3, David3 etc.), so I have never done the GenX Conversion with one of those. Not sure about it, but besides the necessary GenX2 Addon you need also at least the product David3 for Genesis. Because the Clone Shapes autogenerated by GenX are taken from the AutoFit Clones. There is no native AutoFit Compatibility between Genesis and the Generation3 Figures. Only between Generation4 and Genesis. Thats why David3 for Genesis is listed as required product in the necessary GenX2 Addon.
Its a little bit confusing, in the Generation3 GenX Addon Bundle it is not listed as a requirement. Only if you take a closer look you will see the details in the single products included.
Yeah, I was wondering about whether David 3 for Genesis was needed or not. I have him. I'm not sure about KevinH and whether he has it or not. I haven't had a chance to test David 3 out yet.
