She is definitely an innocent. She is lovely though and its a beautiful render!
Hey.. how does one ding another exactly?? I am not sure if I have ever got it right. :)
Learning new techniques is always fun, especially if it helps a person to get a results they have been wanting. If I ever get my texturing tutorial done. I will have learned a few for sure in Photoshop and Daz studio. I might have to figure out how to replicate some in Gimp. I can't give up on Gimp entirely. There are things Gimp can do I have not seen done in Photoshop yet.
Only innocent vamps I have 'heard' of is ones with a soul. Ever watch Buffy the vampire slayer? Angel and Spike. hehe
LOL @Sven He looks sort of kind?? It is a good render. :)
@Liana you need the @ and the exact username directly following that to ding people, it doesn't work with names with a space or an apostroph though.
@Knittingmommy sorry for entering your thread here, I think she does look like a not innocent vampire very much, wouln't want to meet her at night
@Linwelly Thank you for stopping by and explaining. I was not sure if I was doing it correctly. :)
@Lynwelly That's okay. Yeah, I'm not sure I'd want to meet her at night either. I think she'll make an interesting character someday though. :)
@Liana What @Linwelly said. :)
it does, I got this :D
Yea! Thanks you two. @knittingmommy and @Linwelly :)
I use Corel Photo Paint 3d effects and Emboss. Shown here. I like the way yours looks too!
And the sexy vampires are coming along nicely. Your character with Giuseppe's skin is lit to show off his features and quite eye-catching. Love it!
And everyone in prison are innocent!
Yes that's what I'm saying
Thanks, @Novica. I'm working on it. I'm not happy with my cover yet, but I'm getting there. As for Corel Photo Paint, can't afford to get another graphics program right now. I think I can do the same things in Gimp. It will just have to do for now. I do like what you did with your image, though. That was nice.
Of course, they are. And, I have a bridge I want to sell you, too.
Lol
If you ever want some lettering tested, just shoot me a PM and I can do it on a transparent background as a png.
@Novica Cool! I'll definitely keep that in mind. I might very well take you up on that one! :)
I think your vampress looks stunning the way she is, no need to improve on her at all!!
Thanks @Saphirewild. I do like her. Just not what I wanted for this specific project I need her for. I might still definitely use her as a character sometime though. I have some thoughts. :)
I realized yesterday that will all of my projects, it's been a while since I just sat down with DS and rendered something just for fun. Something I wanted to render just because I wanted to render it. So, I dug through my stash of products and picked some things that I hadn't rendered yet. This also gave me an opportunity to just play with some camera settings. I'd always been curious about what the lens settings under the camera tab did. Now, I know. There is actually some cool stuff you can do by changing the lenses.
So, here's what I did straight out of DS, no postwork:
My camera settings:
I'm not exactly sure what everything in there does. I'm still playing with the settings trying to figure everything out. The one set at 10.00 under Lens Distortion K3, I'm not sure actually did anything but that's the setting I had for this image. As I said, I'm still playing with them to figure out what everything does. However, what I can tell you is the the lens distorted the background trees and kind of amplified the DOF in a really cool way.
I'm not sure if I'll try any postwork on this or not. I actually think it looks pretty good as it is. I'll figure it out tomorrow. It's time for bed for me.
Nice work, I've never touched the lens stuff yet, as I don't have a clue what it does, but seeing the render and your settings I have the impression that the K numbers indicate tha place on the lens that is distorting, with K1 and 2 being more in the center and K3 the outer part, where the trees really look distorted.
Thanks! Yeah, I think that's what I figured out, too, @Linwelly. Changing the Lens Distortion type does some really cool things (each distortion type does wierd and wacky things) and then changing the Lens Distortion K1 through K3 seems to change what part of the lens is affected. I like what I got while playing around with it. I definitely want to play with it more. This was kind of fun to do.
I like it, I really like the distorted trees in the background. I've not touched those either so its interesting to see what they can do.
That looks cool, I haven't played with them myself because lens distortion is something most us photographers try and avoid. lol how ever in 3D I think it can add to the realism, because we always have a little lens distortion IRL. Also you should check out lensbaby images these are done with a lens that you bend and twist and it gives you these cool distortions. Looking at your image I'm thinking maybe the effect could be recreated in daz.
@deathbycanon Thank you so much! Thanks for the suggestion and the link, too. I think some of those could definitely be replicated using DS. I know I had some similar distortions when I was playing around with the image I posted until I got one I really liked. I saw some really cool effects that I want to explore more. Some of them were similar to images in the lensbaby search you linked. Very cool because I didn't know that was a thing. I'm going to have to pick a few images that I like and see if I can make something similar in DS now. :)
Thanks, @IceDragonArt. Yeah, sometimes I just like exploring and seeing what kind of trouble I can get into with Iray. Makes for some interesting images. This was cool and I'm excited to see what more I can do with it.
HI KM, I left you a message. Hope you got it :)
Went and looked and yep, it was there. Looks good. I sent a reply. :)
I finally managed to pick up @DarwinsMishap's Giovanni that came out recently. As soon as I saw him, I had an idea for a render in mind. I'm glad I was able to pick him up. I wanted something gritty and rough. I think I managed to get close to what I had in mind. This is Giovanni on G8M.

Nice renders Kinntingmommy. :) I like that guy character and how you did it all. Post work?.
@Liana In DS, I used @KindredArts Iray Light Probe Kit to help overcome the really dark Dungeon Hall. My first time using it and I love it so far. I combined that with lighting from IDG Iray Gel Lights and Gobos by @DestinysGarden and @InaneGlory. It's a really good lighting asset. I had it outside the bars of the dungeon so the shadows from the bars showed up nicely on Giovanni. As usual, I played with tone mapping with Tonal Rage by @DimensionTheory. I don't really need to use it anymore, but I like being able to just click through the presets. I've learned a lot from that product.
Post work was in Gimp with the NIK Collection filters. I used the Bleach Bypass under the Color Efex Pro 2 for the gritty look and slightly tonal effect. I used the Graduated Fog and flipped it so that the fog was coming up from the bottom and adjusted the opacity so it wasn't so overpowering. I changed a couple of other settings, too. I liked my final result from DS but it was too clean for what I wanted. I had thought about using some brushes in Gimp to add dirt but decided against it after playing with the NIK Collection filters. I really like the effect that I got with the Bleach Bypass.
ooohhhh, that's fantastic! You totally nailed the gritty thing and the lighting is fantastic. I'm off to go check out those lighting products you mentioned and add more stuff to my wishlist. lol
