I thought I'd be a little more 'flexible' with this month's challenge and give you a bendy arrow, which you can watch animated on YouTube... just click the image below!

    Arrow

Arrow consists of many, many cubes which are animated using Fenric's ERC plug-in for Carrara. I like Carrara now that I'm starting to get more into it.

    Selina

One of my cats was sitting watching the screen trying to catch your arrows.

Well done Selina, the waving arrows are great but the twisting and color changes are nothing short of fantastic.

Oh Selina.. I'm soooo jealous... I have Carrara and have not used it at all.  I think I opened it once a year ago and never have since... I'm so bad about using what I buy.  It's like candy in a store... my eyes are bigger than my rendering time... lol.   Thanks for adding a little 'movement' to this thread.  :)

Hi everyone! I've completely missed this challange so far this year. For various reasons I didn't render anything at all for 6 months and that also ment my DAZ forum presence was at a minimum. But now I've started rendering things again and am ready to join in on the fun here. I've just had the pleasure of going through all 18 pages of creative fun in this thread (and I'm happy to see that a ducky made an appearance even in my abscence) and now I'm thinking of arrows.

Regarding cat allergy, which I'm thankful I don't suffer from:

I'm probably the same to be honest and have Bryce 7 on my machine along with Poser 11, Blender, Moho 12, Rebelle 2, Crazy Talk 8, Wings 3D and iClone 6 - all of which I have yet to learn properly (Oh and DS4 which I've opened maybe 5-10 times in total) lest I forget!) Here's a quote of a similar comment I supplied earlier to show how late I've come to 3D with any serious intent. wink

I recently watched 'Blender Guru' on YouTube giving good adivce on how to learn effectively by following 7 simple steps, which I found interesting and shall apply to getting to grips with the afore-mentioned software packages (one day - laugh)

Sorry if I seem a bit pedantic at times, it's part of my current approach to learning - but I'm rethinking my strategy drastically!!!

And (just hate starting a sentence with a conjunction - but I must get used to breaking rules if I'm to become a real 'artist') thanks for hosting this fun thread - it's inspiring to see everyone's take on the monthly theme.

    Selina

Thanks Selina.. it's been my pleasure to hostess... and I'm glad you decided to join us.  I'll check out those links too... I need a faster way to learn too... any advise how to get the brain to function better???  lol.  I'm such a sloooooooow learner.  Once I know something though.. I run with it!

    I watched art in London

I think the old artists who came with surrealism etc,did use the most powerful tool: a very advanced neural network, a visionary brain

I think maybe you should go watch surrealism etc to get inspired and go home with new ideas and open up your Bryce or whatever program you want to try and try to make some surrealism scene and play with Bryce materials, light etc,try volumetric light

If you never made a animation before, try that and that can be a reason to open up for example Carrara

my point is we dont should forget to try to evolve "visionary" part of brain, besides learning new skills in 3d and 2d programs

I also want to thank Llola Lane and all participants for inspiration for make art I never would have thought of

@isidorn:it could be worse, hope nobody develop art allergysmiley

    "Ripple-Fire"

try to avoid these if you canlaugh

how do I take it from attached file to a bigger picture in post?

how slow computer do you need to literally "render a month"?smiley

After you have posted your post, click on your attached image. Copy the url you get in your browser. Mouse over the top right corner of your post and click the little cogwheel that appears and it lets you edit your post. When editing, use the little icon looking like a framed landscape (it shows it's called "image" when mousing over it) and insert your copied url there. Also, if the image is wider than 800, please set width to 800 or lower to not call down the wrath of the forum powers that be. Also also, as an extra service to all viewers, click the "link" tab and set "target" to "new window".

I have a medium power computer and there's renders I've given up on because they would literally take a month or more to render, based on initial progress (like less than 1% completed after over night rendering)

And I'll try to avoid all those dangerous looking missiles!surprise

    Thanks,deeleelaw57,xmasrose(aka tulipe), isidorn,Selina, saphirewild

@Selina for me it was the other way around:

I read alot about airplanes many years ago and was sometimes visiting airshows,So I was reminded of some red arrows team when "arrow month" came

So I decided go for jetplane, made with hexagon and imported to Bryce
