Quick break from the monthly challenge to make a goth fairy for a friend: -

Was good to do a simpler picture for a change, didn't have to worry about tons of scene elements or my graphics card memory getting pushed laugh

Just popping in to catch up. I really like how this looks.

Very cool. I liked seeing how this one progressed. Great final image! Your art is really coming along nicely. :)

@Tynkere: Yeah, was never quite sure, but just felt like it was time to stop there for me. The fairy isn't with any of the party, however Obby tried to catch her when they first encountered each other, so now her prankster side comes out whenever they run into each other. If you mean in Dance of Summer, then yes, that's with dForce used, though I did have to make one of her legs to not render as it was poking through the dress after the simulation ran.

Know exactly what you mean on the last point, the game was gone for something like 12 years before chanced upon some of us who felt like trying it out again.

@Knittingmommy: Thank you, when I first started doing these it was all like I don't know what I'm doing, now it's just mostly that laugh

Thank you smiley I have to work on the render for this character's sister some day, she gets black wings.

After playing around a lot with the options (so many options!) in the KamilyAnn figure I managed to make the below, thankfully using a HDRI after last time so my render time wasn't crazy. Great figure for any draconic or reptillian characters. I also used the HFS Shapes to alter the face a little.

That’s truly beautiful @Noswen. I love the figure you’ve created.

Thanks, I did like making this character, may have to come up with some more scenes for her for more pictures smiley

A fairly quickly set up render of Latonya, eyebrows have been replaced with the OnFleek ones which I can no longer seem to find in the store or link to, but everything else for the character is from the bundle, with the HD add on added.

  • Love what you did with KamilyAnn, really like her face!

If don’t mind my saying so, nice creative light setup on Latonya.  Soft emissive left, and a harder spot on RH side?  My setup would probably be predictably boring: “all of the face must be well lit!”  And I would be mistaken... O_o

That’s “look at my eyes” add on, or surfaces settings?  Really nice reflection eye that’s almost hidden in shadow.  Have to see if can copy it. devil

    @IceDragonArt: Thank you smiley

@Tynkere: The light set up is one of the options from the Boss Pro Lights package, I use it for pretty much all my portrait style renders which don't have a specific background in mind, even if this is the first time I've not done the more standard even lighting. I've made no changes at all to the eyes though.

  • TynkereTynkere Posts: 834

Boss Pro Lights eh?  Will have to look into it.  Think I have one called Render Studio, but they're a a pain to aim & get just right.

Looks good right out of the box though.  Forget which one I got recently that had eye add-on product.  Probably not using correctly.  Deleted them & two huge holes where default eyes had been.

Tomb Raider, the Undead version. ;)

Plans for Latonya with D&D / fantasy series?  As might've mentioned follow here since can relate.

    best!

Sounds like that could turn out into a very good or a very bad render.

Things have been a little hectic for me recently so things have been slow, but do have a start on using a Latonya/Alexandra for one of the NPCs. Once I get a little way into it I'll post up a WiP picture. May have to start adding some information on the characters in the settings with the renders soon.

And here is the first WiP render for the character. With this I've realised that I've gotten a lot more used to using the Surfaces anbd Shaping tabs now.

The setting has four overland countries in it; Azdun, Minnia, Lodi, and the Badlands. This character is Commander Angela of the Royal Guard of Azdun.

And now for a full length view with armour. Sadly I can't add much in the way of a scene because this is already coming close to exceeding my graphics card, and attempting to CPU render is not going to be pretty.

Stunning character @Noswen. I have the Legends outfit too but I tend use parts of it and not the whole set for the same reason. It is beautifully made.

Thanks, not done with her quite yet, but most of the way there. Now watch that little tiny bit left take half the time. I took a few pieces off of the armour set, but it is mostly in tact, it is a great set.

  • She looks fantastic!

  • TynkereTynkere Posts: 834

Skin on her portait looks really nice.  Think I have 'knight armor for G3' (creative name) that doesn't nearly as look fancy as befits a commander of Royal Guard.  ;)

    Best wishes

    Nine

And with this one the three siblings are done. I want to put them all in one render together but I have a feeling my graphics card would melt if I tried to load that much into memory, and my CPU is a lot older than that sad

Nicely done set of portraits!  You could always do three renders and combine them in post. Put them all in the render and do the scene the way you want it. Then hide two of three and render.  Then unhide one and hide the one you just did.  do all three then just layer them one on top of the other.  You would have to render two of three without a background.

Thank you smiley I did briefly consider it, but felt it would be difficult if not impossible to pull off if they were interacting in any way at all. I might take more of a look at it and see though.

So I've been somewhat absent recently with life keeping me busy, but I've still managed to keep the renderings going (and watching the sale disturbingly regularly angel), even if I haven't posted any of them up. So time for a few posts.

    Hello World!

    Link in Gallery

An item from the sale that I felt would look fun, but I didn't overly like the textures that came with it, so a lot of metal and paint shaders got applied to almost every surface.

Also did you know Stonemason's Urban Sprawl 3 has interior details? I didn't. I loaded a building up intending to take a shot of my robot standing in front of a building only to suddenly find him inside a lobby!

Another character from my fantasy setting, this is Commander Gregor of the Army of Azdun, bringing me up to two of the Commanders now having images of them smiley
