He's still on Renderosity. He came into one of the threads and said his decision was based on simplifying things. I can see how trying to release products in two or more stores could get complicated. I imagine his products for DS will show up over there at some point. In fact, he recently released several DS/Iray products there. I'll be keeping an eye on his store over there. I still want the photography props pack I had wishlisted…

I saw that yesterday and sorry to see him go. I had some more of his items on waitlist so hoping they show up over there.

I'm trying to remember what products he had that I had wishlisted. I have the photography props thank goodness.  Are the products gone from our wishlists then?

  • Yep all gone

Is there a way to tell in our Product Library which products were his?

  • Apparently not

Tom,, (DreamlandModels,) brought over a large number of his low-poly "movie sets" products, which I believe were previously available at Rendo. Those were all Poser only and I didn't buy any of those. For Daz Studio, he released five "Single Home Bundles" and the 15 Single Homes that are in the bundles. There was also "Tom's Trees," which I bought; a furniture product I believe you reviewed recently, @Novica, and the photography props… at the moment, those are all I can remember. The Single Homes are named Single Home 01 through Single Home 15, so search for Single Home, and the results will show how many of those you own.

    Hope this helps a little.

I have "Movie Sets: 81 City Blocks" but none of the building to go on it and in DS the Presets show the author as 'Unavailable' while in my DAZ 3D web site account Product Library the author name isn't even listed as unavailable. Not very good asset management on DAZ 3D's part for it's paying customers.

I can still download the prduct manually via DIM & manually though. It is a Poser format product.

Does that mean you can't install via Connect? If the sets aren't loading correctly now, as they were before, and you can't reinstall or reisntall doesn't help then that's worth a support ticket - it may be an error with the metadata, it may be a bug with the way DS handles "invalid" authors, or it may be a glitch - but it should be checked.

I'm not following you, here. I've never been able to find a product in the Product Library based on the author's name, except when it's included in the title. (But I sure wish I could!)

I never saw them in Connect because they weren't packaged to be I believe (since they don't show up in my Smart Content after installing via DIM I think that means they also aren't Connect packaged).

Well I should have said the author's name is listed as Unavailable so that was an English negation mistake. I'm taking about the Info in the DS Content Library tab when I say that. For the online Product Library listing the link that would have taken the purchaser to the DAZ 3D Store listing is now missing since the product is gone but were the product still there it'd have the authors like every other DAZ product.

    Thanks

Thank you. I'm not so confused now, (though my husband would probably beg to differ!)

    I have all the Single Homes (1-15) thank goodness.  Movie sets I have 1, 3, 5, 8.

@mousso    When I have Juniper selected in Scene and use Content Library and the !Color Tones, you didn't include the ears when I do base mat Olive or Tanned. I don't think the base mat tint looks like it matches them either. It looks really bad that the ears don't match the face.

The makeups for Juniper aren't easy to tell by the thumbnails. Makeup two shows a light beige powder on the lid, and the background area is light. When applied, makeup 02 puts a really dark charcoal all over that background part of the eye. (the part above the lid.)

Edit- and makeup off still has fairly heavy cateye eyeliner.

Edit- I reinstalled and she is working fine. Love it when that happens. I use DIM and there is no reason for these flukes for installations to give different results. I have posted an updated picture of her.

I may be returning this character. Going to bed, will check her out more tomorrow. Anyone else got her and rendered her?

I have her, but haven't tried using her. Firing up The Beast now…

ETA: Okay, Color Tones is working correctly for me. The preset changes the SSS Reflectance Tint on all the skin surfaces. (It can be fun to experiment with other colors!) Unfortunately, all face materials include the eyeliner. There is a No-Brow map, but no preset for it. And all of the eye makeup maps have the brows.

(I didn't specifically purchase Juniper. She came with the Mika 8 pro bundle. I like her. But I agree the not having a clean face, no makeup, option is disappointing.)

I wonder why mine isn't grabbing the ears. I loaded from Content Library, under the character avatars, then went to the file (still under Characters.)

Ah, I got her in that bundle too. It sucks about the eyeliner.

I loaded her via the Product in Smart Content. (For newer products, I usually do it that way. Then I have all the options right there.) I didn't try loading via the Content Library. I don't see how that could make a difference, but I'll check it out anyway. Couldn't hurt.

I have a couple renders of DM's new character Sylph.  In her non-human form, she might make a great Klingon.  I used Carella hair.  I forgot to note the names of the outfits, and will come back with that information if I figure out what I used.  The character's facial features are more delicate than I expected from the promos, i.e., she's very pretty.  Great glittery make-up options, without being overdone.

I got the SYlph bundle mostly for the building and the clothing, but I was pleasantly surprised by the character.

Have you tried loading the building?  The heard it is very resource intensive. Would love to know if this is so for others.

Not yet, but I'll give it a go when I get the render beast out for the weekend.

Not the weekend yet, but: the building loads reasonably quickly, and controls are responsive. Rendering: it goes to CPU, even with 8GB of GTX 1080. It goes to 20% in five minutes, and while it does have to work hard, it doesn't completely freeze up the computer (I7-7700, 16 GB memory), but it then stays at 20% for another ten minutes at least. Yup, it's a bit of a resource hog. Pretty, though.

First test run of Sydney. Definitely pleased with her. She's got a lot of character.

I like Sydney a lot. Except for her breasts, which are not at all a natural shape. I comment on it in the official thread here. (I've saved the post, just in case…)

I'll probably end up doing the same for her as for Rune in the previous generation: dial in a shape that I like more and save that as a preset.

I picked up PTF Neon Splash Lighting Suite and did some test using it.  I have to say I'm very happy with these lights and settings.  They're very easy to use.  The first one is my character out of the box, no lights.  The second one has PTF lips and skin glossier settings.  The rest are various presets that I clicked on.  My favorite of this set is the second to the last one.  I used Rembrandt lighting and one of the gel lights.

I should add - none of these is rendered all the way.

@Worlds_Edge - glad to hear from someone about this light set, and especially to hear praise . . . I've been eyeing this product, because the promos have striking looks across different styles and scenes, but sort of feel I have a number of lighting solutions already. But your quick test images encourage me!
