thanks @xmasrose   Yep, it's a great deal!  MM has had some really decent ones, particularly the ones which add the 70% off to the one or two items for that day. Can't complain, nice variety by the vendors this year too.

I did get the pro bundle but have been considering returning it. There seems to be a fair amount of rushed work in this set. I’m not sure that even at the low price I paid for it it is ultimately worth the cost.

I haven't done anything with products in a month, perhaps I should before the return date gets past. Mind commenting on what you've found, or is it in your thread? You're so good at finding things which don't measure up. You, @ladair  @barbult and quite a few others!

That is one of many downsides to being a perfectionist. I was a recovering perfectionist, but working with 3D has caused me to relapse. I hope I'm not too big a pain in the… neck… to PAs, Mods, and forumites.

@L'Adair  Don't worry you're are a wonderful lady! And it is good to be a perfectionist!

One that I don't regret purchasing is Shawna (got her for 1.43!). Used Altern8 and render Studio 2 on this one :

The dforce sweater outfit needs dforce to drape properly. It loads with the clothing puffed up, especially on more buff characters. I don't want to be compelled to use dforce especially on fairly tight clothing. Several outfits seem to have installer issues. The Tourist outfit has buttons in the wrong place. One character looks like he has female skin. I haven't looked at the rest, but given they haven't fixed outfit issues from the Landon bundle, It concerns me that these issues might not get addressed.

I do like the base character, and despite the button issue, the tourist set is cute, and I like the camera and fanny pack. But, I could buy those items separately.

The deal was also pretty bad, especially if you own a lot of content.

Camino HD (Gen8F)    Ladina Hair (Gen3/8F)      Soul Keeper Outfit (Gen8F)       Studio Drapes Base Pack  (Background Drapes)

    Architectural Iray Shaders

Okay, interesting. The shader preset I used for the background drape says Angel of Retribution, with Canary3D as the vendor. There's no shader in the store with that, only a winged figure for Genesis 2 in my Product Library, and it's no longer in the store. But here's a tip for newbies for all shaders-

TIP:  Don't look at the shader "as is." Remember to increase (or decrease) the vertical and horizontal tiling. For the blue background, I used Shader D1 from the Retribution product (not found in store search, either) and changed the tiling from 3.0 to 8.0   The higher the number on the tiling, the smaller the pattern (more repetition.)

CLICK TO ENLARGE, both are over 1200px
That's the curtains in the background from the Studio Drapes Pack. They make a wonderful background with other shaders. Give 'em a try! I also reduced the opacity so they'd have a softer look.

Tip:  For this smile, it's in the Parameters/Pose Controls/Mouth- Apryl Smile 39.9%, then Mouth Corner Up/Down 35.2%

All renders are always Mitchell filter, NOT the default Gaussian, which blurs renders IMO. Sharpen them by reducing the Pixel Filter Radius from 1.50 to 1.35 (lowest I go is about 1.20. If it goes much lower, it's really crispy looking.)  These are 1.35

The Architectural Iray Shaders, when Tiled to 400 or 500 (both horizontally and vertically) make a nice look for background walls when using Stone 02 (see the brown back wall.) I changed the color to 189/189/189 in the base color (Surfaces.)   Stone 28 tiling to 20 is the floor.

    Again, click to enlarge. 1200px

I've picked up almost all of the bonus 70% off products, but I was going to pass on Camino because she looked so bad in the promo pics. I'm glad you posted your renders. I just bought her, because you made her look good. (Makes me think the promo renders were rushed, maybe, to get the product out in time to be a bonus item.)

oh, @Novica - I think that Angel of Retribution g2F set included in the product a whole shader pack, like 20-some-odd shaders, specifically designed to complement the set; that may be the shaders you're finding...

@ladair   Glad you like her. I particularly like the eyebrows (of course, they're bushier) because where they start look SO real.  I like her lips too. The materials are perfectly within the lips, no smudging between the top peaks, if you know what I mean.

@genaris   I'll have to go look it up in the studio under the clothing (or whatever it's under.)  It's a shame it's no longer in the store, there's a lot of good shaders with it!  Thanks so much, I was wondering if it was a Rendo product that I didn't label as such.

Oh hey, they changed up Fast Grab. Look at Hinkypunk's John Crow!  You can GenX him and move him up a few generations. Lenora has some really freaky material options, and dialing her in to other figures may be fun too.  HP Rowan has really interesting face materials with the white under her eyes and the dark nose and upper lip. Creative!

Ah, yes, forgot to mention- the Angel of Retribution shaders are in Content Library under Shader Presets, if you have the product. I don't use anything other than Content Library, so don't know where it's at otherwise.

Not that I ever used dForce that much but the last 2 times I tried to use it (DS 4.11.0.239 Beta) it caused DS to lock up at about 5 minutes into the dForce simulation. It's very disapponting when it does that as slow as it is when it works it's usually a big draping improvement. The scenes that it locked up in were completely different too & I hid the enviroment completely to no avail.

Otherwise I'm pretty satisfied with DS rendering, I can make competent renders that still look good that I don't have to postwork if I don't care too.

In case nobody else has noticed, I did a Lowest to Highest price check on the store and got five items showing that I didn't have :)

I'm going to assume you mean five free items you didn't have, but reading that sentence, it sounds like you own everything in the store except for those five items!
    cheeky

The freebies page was updated last Monday. I found several things I could use, which was a nice change. These days I'm lucky if there's one thing in the list that I can use and don't already own.

Yes, I just realised I missed out the 'free' bit :)

I almost skipped her when looking at the promos, but thought what the heck, lets give it a try, I've been positively surprised before. Which I also got this time, actually.

I completely agree.  The promos made it an easy couple of dollars saved.

The "Current Daz Freebies" changeover every two weeks, usually on a Monday. I hope you haven't missed out on anything good, thinking they only change once a month. As it just changed over this past week, you can expect the next batch of freebies to hit on or around the 15th.

Another great product (I beta tested this one) is the market stalls. It is very versatile. It even comes with poses for G8/G3 and spoons full of honey or jam.

Did you get it? What do you think?

@xmasrose @taoz   Those Shawna renders are very pretty- show a simple elegance. The lighting is beautifully done on both. She seems serene with the scarcity of makeup.

I like the market stall (and love the pup peeking out!)  One thing I'd like to see is the thing-a-ma-bobbies hanging down seem a bit stiff/still- and I don't see that they have any wind morphs. I would love an add-on set for poses of the canopy. But if anyone hasn't looked at what's included in this for materials, do take a peek. It's a wow. The tablecloth and canopy are really addressed for variety. Thanks for showcasing this one!

What are the most positive surprises people have had with new products that were recently introduced?   My candiate is Amazing Morphing Pumps by Fisty & Darc.  I rarely buy shoes, but these look like real world shoes and the heel morphing really works.  I bought them wondering, but they're my favorite purchase in awhile.

I read the thread on those and could tell people were really psyched. The vendors are good at taking suggestions on that thread too. Think it was the Commons.

I haven't done any renders except Camino, and will let you other folks take the lead on this one. Great question!

I hesitated for a bit on https://www.daz3d.com/color-shock, but it's really fun for backgrounds for quick scenes.

Figures are G7F and G8F. G7 is wearing Peeled Orange skin, and G8 is wearing Sliced (from Rendo).

@Nath - OMG, that looks wonderful, so crisp and vibrantly colored!     I too have been sort of dancing around getting that product, but seeing your image definitely is pushing me to cart it!     : )

Off the topic for a minute, but I was perusing catalogs and saw Esme for Genesis 8 Female which is NOT on sale. Wanted to mention her because she has different ages provided. You may want to wishlist her for future consideration. Take a peek at the youngsters, they're adorable!  (You do need to own Growing up and the other morphs.)

Thanks! It's really a fun set, I'm glad I got it.
