    M4 Displacement Maps
    http://www.daz3d.com/m4-displacement-maps

If you want your Michael 4 dude (and Genesis, see Jaderail's response in the thread below) to have those bulging veins from adrenaline, it is a DAZ Original so you can use your $6 off monthly code- and get it for $8.97 instead of $24.95. Jaderail was mentioning it to someone who asked how to get veins and I was curious- then smiled when I saw it was a DO- because this month we get that extra 10% for being a PC member. (it's normally 30% but right now it's 40%.)

If you use your code plus that 40% you're saving $15.98

Read Jaderail's response: (is there anything this purple wonder doesn't know?) http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/30218/

During the PC member Space Sale, you can get the GIS For Genesis Male top for 99 cents that Cassini was wearing in this scene with BEO Ripper.
EDIT: It's a complete outfit, but only the TOP is shown here. And this makes it really fancy, also for 99 cents.

    Hacienda Hermosa

    http://www.daz3d.com/hacienda-hermosa

I am still working on the Tranquility set, and just wanted to mention one set that has a lot of nice tropicals and plants. I had reviewed it before, but the set preloaded so I didn't review each item individually. It was a HUGE set- and my goodness, just the plants with it will keep you busy. It's got palm trees, fan palms, tropical bushes, tropical flowers, planters- and heads up- the vendor was very thoughtful when determining the material zones. You can change the leaf color and the flower color to create totally new bushes. (Mori_Mann mentioned that as a good reminder, and you'll find several references and examples in thread 1 about using Surface settings to change the appearance of your props, clothing, etc. Our References section is found from Post 1in this thread.)

Hacienda Hermosa is worth taking a look at, and it rendered ULTRA quick when I did it for the review. So if you need plants, here's the brief list!
    27 Different Plants:
    Four Types of Trees

A variety of plants and flowers, with 12 different flower materials and five different leaf materials to choose from.
    Four Planters
    Four Pots
    Four Rocks

Take your time :) Posting is time permitting. I'm still working on that complicated Tranquility, spent three hours doing grass and flowers, tweaking. Still not anywhere near done. Doing a test render to see the lighting but not posting it.

    FINALLY!!!

Something that is versatile, looks like it has great movement morphs for sitting and lower body movement, and adjustable necklines. Look through the thumbnails on this one if you want family friendly for Genesis 2!
    http://www.daz3d.com/super-dress-and-leggings-for-genesis-2-female-s

Don't let the title fool you- you can make a variety of tops and really change the plunging neckline!

I noticed it is from the same vendor who did Jersey Dress, which is quite similar, but it looks like the one above has a lot more options.

Take a peek at this and if you know how to assist, please do! I wanted to try something more complicated, so I'm bumping the grass up against a ROUNDED platform. It'd be easy if it were square, but how do you do this? I'm thinking with a polygon editor, but I've never done that before. You can't just insert the grass under the platform as the tips of the grass are uneven and poke through. Can't rotate the grass either to dip down under the platform and rise up outside the platform, some tips still poke through. :) Always up for a challenge to learn something new, so if you know how to do this, can you describe it step by step for us?

I'm lazy. I'd just do one render with grass one without out and post work the two images in photoshop so the grassless platform is in the place of the grassy-poke through one and flatten.

I just bought it. DIM is downloading now. DogZ clothing has worked great in the past for me with Genesis 1. The clothes always have lots of useful morphs and options.

Trying it now, and I am having some troubles with the gray knit texture. I think I'll PM DogZ if I don't resolve it. Continuing to play now with other textures.

Cool. Nice to see some less smexy clothing in the store. I'm also partial to the vault rustler outfit.

Got the gray knit issue resolved. Turns out there are special visibility settings for knitwear. I was using an incorrect setting. It wasn't apparent in Smart Content that certain visibility settings were for certain textures. In the Content Library folders, it is easy to see. This is going to be another great Dogz product!
Edit: image replaced with one with actual lights used.

That's awesome. Good sci-fi potential. Where's my coupon when I need it? =-) May make tier 2 this time around by accident!

Looks like a person needs to take advantage of the 44% off the day the item posts. Otherwise the intro price goes down next day.

Today's review is Lycaon: by RawArt
    http://www.daz3d.com/lycaon-the-werewolf

This is quite possibly my favorite of RawArt's fantastic library of critters. Why? He looks quite wolfy, and the hair preset adds so much realism! Plus, he has a lot of personality. Right now if you want him, he is also 50% off. The only requirement is freak 5. He comes with 2 colors, and looks quite dandy even without the hair. The set includes 8 poses, a scarred texture and a number of different eye colors. Because I rendered him in a dark setting, I chose to replace the eye texture with the eyes from Dark Elf for a more 'glowing eye' look. If I rendered this again, I probably should've chosen a lighter background, so bear that in mind that he is a dark-textured figure and for contrast sake should have something lighter or lighter lights to show him at full advantage.

Figures rendered close to him will have to contend with pokethrough from the hair, much as Novica was speaking about with her grass. This is a small price to pay for the added realism of the hair preset. I just did a second render with the Lycaon hairless and then merged the images. The hands on the female had some unsightly Lycaon hairs poking through her palms, which I erased away with my Lycaon hairless layer. Hah.

I think this figure is wonderful. And easily worth the price. RawArt has outdone himself with this fantastic and versatile werewolf figure.

Yeah, I got the Super Dress/Leggings and the Vault Rustler immediately when I saw them- first time in over 10 days I've bought about $25 worth of promo stuff, but both those outfits are SO family friendly and can be changed so much in Surfaces tab/materials that I had to get both. Barbult, thanks so much for sharing- the gray one is my favorite.

SereneNight, you trying to bankrupt people? You keep showing all this cool stuff.... :)
I'm going to have to wishlist your critter because I DID just spend $25 on the Dress/Leggings and V.Rustler. Next time that store comes up on sale, or in the next few months, he's mine!

Love the posing too btw. Had to laugh when you said Novica's grass. Makes me sound like I'm enjoying weed!

    Polygon Editing Tool Tutorial:

For that polygon editing tool: Go to TOOLS and select it, change the drawing style to Wire Shaded. Hold down the CTRL and left click and select the polygons. Don't do it too fast or you might get an error and the studio might close. Then you need to right click and you'll get a popup box with options, select the Polygon Assignment > Create Surface from Selected> and name it. Then it will show up in Surfaces tab under that product! I made the top of Genesis' head disappear.

I haven't tried the grass yet, that should be a DOOZY if those suckers are teeny polygons.
EDIT: The forums are AGAIN reversing images- but that's okay, you can see the finished results first. I added an image in the diffuse to show you how neat this is- the image is now used in the material surface area that I made.

First image: Shows you the FINISHED result- note that in Surfaces, the Opacity is zero- that is what makes the polygons disappear.

Second image: The drop down shows you I selected Wire Shaded so I could see the polygons. The yellow polygons are the one selected.

Third image: After you've selected the polygons and right click, this box asks you to name your polygon group. Again, don't say Head- make it unique like MyHeadPolys or MyHeadGroup, etc.

Fourth image: Shows you the image in Diffuse, and what it did to the material zone. Neat, eh?

Hah! I like Lycaon A LOT. Tried to do a baby Lycaon by mixing him up with the child morph and baby morph. His abs are too washboard to look right on a tiny child sprog. He needs a tummy. Plus, the fur preset was really funny on a really tiny Lycaon. He looked like Mini ME!

The pose is from DM's mixed Fantasy. I am a sucker for couples poses, and even though Lycaon is using a m3, pose it worked with just a little head adjustment. That is also where the building and the ewer came from.

    Easy Environments: Outback
Flipmode has really nice products- you know how much I love the Easy Environments: The Rock? Well, using skyboxes is SO cool and there's a new one out today. Use it for Wild West settings and barren type scenes. PC members get it for a great price of $8.37. BTW, I did my student teaching in Australia :) It was so neat to see the colorful birds in the birdbaths and have a cockatoo land on my balcony every morning for his treat. Australians ROCK- nicest folks on the face of the planet.

    http://www.daz3d.com/easy-environments-outback

And oh what fun- check out the Useful Mirror thumbnails. I want to put my characters in front of that carnival one and warp them! Only $4.45 for PC Members. (If you're going for a tier, here's a cheap and NEAT product.)

So these two were my purchases for today, I'm in tier 2 without even trying. I decided not to "go for" any tiers, to ONLY buy what I will use, and these two were no brainers. Happy shopping!

You've got it. It's in DAZ Studio. Go up to Tools :)
EDIT: The directions were in the post, you probably read it then got engrossed in the images. Start with Tools and follow along with the instructions, it's really easy. You'll love it when you start playing with it (as long as you don't try grass- too many polys to click on, lol)

EDIT: And someone PM'd me about after you make the material zone- the image shows that when the box popped up, I named it HEAD (so you don't get confused, name yours "MyHeadZone" or something so you won't get confused if there's another thing called "head" or "face" or whatever. Then when you go to Surfaces tab (as shown) you will see "Head" (or MyHeadZone) in the list. Click on it and change opacity to 0 to make it disappear, or go to Diffuse and put in an image and it will appear wherever you created your zone.

You are always talking about composition and lines and such. Guess i didn't listen very well!. Here is an example of really bad placement. I didn't notice until it was all done. Look how the black fence line runs right through both of her wrists, right through the black area of the sleeves. This is supposed to be an example of several Dogz products layered together. It has the new Super Dress (shirt length in purple paisley), Mall Jacket (autofit), 3-in-1 Skinny Pants (autofit), and Steel Frame Glasses.

The picture isn't bad. I'd just lower the fence or make her a touch shorter so her head is in the top middle left. Her face draws the eye which is the intent.

I am not that obsessed with composition. No hard and fast rules for me! They all get broken once in a while anyway.

LOL! Well, at least you noticed it. More importantly though, you didn't have the second story of the building resting on top of her head- those are the kinds of boo boos I make and then catch at the last minute. The outfit looks really good- and I like the way the sunglasses are tinted but yet I can still see the eyes. You hit a perfect balance there.

Standfast- very happy that you are having fun- looks good! I think clothing would be really fun to doodle with. I haven't gotten to play anymore with it yet, been out at the ranch. A beautiful day with a nice breeze, taking advantage of it.

Okay, I'm stuck. I have tons of vehicles and haven't used them, so decided to do a recent one- Aircraft Colo. So if you have that, I'm wondering how you get the "fire" to show up. The eyeballs are open in Scene tab (for Fire 1, Fire 2) so the items haven't been "hidden." Yet my poor Colo is due to crash at any minute because there's no fire. I rendered it (thinking it was a shader or something?) and still nothing showing up in those engines.

I managed to hide the landing gear, get the propeller whirring- just have a stalled in the air Colo! What am I supposed to do?

Okay, I selected Colo, then General, and the 1.00 is the fire OFF (instead of On, which seems backward to me.) I'm doing this with the BWC Skies so you can see those, back in awhile. (There won't be a pilot, I'm not THAT involved with this at the moment. Just showing skies and the vehicle.)
