Still playing with Ron's brushes.....He's got some wild ones.......ok I can't figure out this clone deal...I go create new geo shell but how do you then change textures on it... I tried surfaces tab already.........its a puzzle for my mind anyway.....
One here is a Figure and the other is a GeoShell clone. Hint the clone has makeup.. Its really this easy. Select the Shell in the Scene tab, then in the Surfaces tab select the material to change and JUST load a texture. It seems to work like adding a shader to other items but with any texture, Hope this helps.
Yes thank you Jaderail ...maybe I could not get it to work because I was trying it on a plant...and I was trying a shader...well I have a new baby and boy is he going to be a little bugger to light up.....I will have to play with him later....he is furry and for some strange reason when you pose him in this position he goes like 2ft in the air so I had to bring him back down on the ground...he does have 2 eye colors yellow and the blue....I will never use the yellow one....LOL Jade.. Does it take a long time on your computer for the lion to render????
black is king
He might be my favorite if I could light him up bigh....LOL...I think he has the same eyes as my avatar....I know he has the same expression like what did you say.. HUH......I should have left the claws white also........we do look alike compare him with my picture we are related somehow...kind of like when people look like their dogs....maybe I could Geo shell clone him a light blue to match my hair....I can't wait to say that in Bryce....Why don't you just Geo-shell clone it.....LOL My new 10 dollar word...I been up tooo long.......sleepy time
I all way feed bad for the dog :-)
LOL you crack me up.....
The Male Lion with the Mane is a PITA. Even on my PC it takes much longer than I like. The others ZOOM in comparison.
EDIT: Yep all the poses MOVE mine too... I started doing the CTRL HOLD and turning OFF all the Translations. And then SOME still move them. See below...
I LOVE the panther :D And yes, lighting it properly is a wee bit of a challenge. Especially with what I lovingly call 'summer fur', which basically is without the LAMH. But it's so warm and fuzzy and cuddly...
Personally, I prefer using the golden eyes, though :)
You have some awesome cat renders here Trish. Thanks for posting the link in the Bryce Forum
mori_mann: Thanks so much yes I am really liking his furry little self.....I got to feed a lion cub with a bottle once and it was a really cool experience ...little guy was quite forceful....kept growling the whole time ..like he was afraid I was going to take it away from him and his paws were big....and he was so soft.....
Mermaid: Thanks so much...yes sadly for us that's the only way we will be able to have fur is to do it in Darkside.....but on the other hand I am plodding along ..... with this program....it is all a learning process....sometimes it clicks right away and sometimes I am like ....what....????? LOL p.s. I guess Darkside is just not a closet anymore to store Bryce stuff in....
This little guy is going to be a problem for me with the lighting.....I have gotten into a habit of spot lights...I have others....but he is just soooo dark....Jaderail do you have him also??? If so how do you light him??? going to finish my movie but I will be back
Yes I have Him, and nope, I've not managed to get a GOOD lighting set up on him either. YET.
OK...Thanks I figured if anyone would know it would be you...back to the movie....Runner Runner2....good flick by the way....
try 1 Distant light
hope this is ok - if not have a mod delete it
Trish, you've been making me giggle with this thread and the comparisons with your avatar.
Your baby panther sure is a little cutie, but I can see why he's so hard to light. If it's any consolation, black furry animals are tricky to photograph in the real world too. You'd have to mess with the exposure settings on the camera.... can't do that (AFAIK) in DS but you can play around with the levels when you postwork.
bigh: yours is wonderful..ok I will try the distant light.....please leave him here so I can look at him.....Thank you Trish
Jindi: It is all about having a good time for me.....sometime I do get silly...LOL
I am still working on this...He has 2 distant lights and 4 spot lights......
I thought that was too much so I changed the settings on the lights each of the 4 spots now at 60% and the 2 distant set at 100%.....He looks better but I still think he needs a tune up....still working on him......not sure if I want the claws white might change them.....I don't like the way his paw looks outlined.....
Ok this one is really different........Houston we have a problem......I think......maybe just me more than likely somehow....This is not a black background.....
The only things I can think of are: the background is too far away or the glossyness is too low. Sorry I couldn't help out more.
edit: I pressed submit too early. Thanks for posting the renders of the cat.
starionwolf: thanks I got it now
More on track....here are more.....I circled all the lights it took to bust this out.....and here is what I got ...added one more spot light changed the background and now I have this.......I still think maybe I should go up under the front legs with a spot....????? Jade if you are checking in ...what do you think????
I used to think I had a pretty good computer....but messing with 2 of these furry kitty's kinda boggs me down a little.....I can still play music and render but I can't be on Daz at the same time.....let alone DL movies too....hard for me to understand why two furry babies makes that much difference.....They would be cute...if I could figure out this lighting.....come on Darkside help me out here....
I think the Panthers need Specular in the Fur so we can toss a Specular only light in our renders and get some highlights on the Light eating fur. That's what I think. I gave up on the Panthers unless under full Sun from a distance. Like in Cloud Nine for Daz Studio.
Jade: I have been looking at that cloud 9 product for awhile.....so the fur is eating the light...now that is an interesting idea.....I am stubborn ...not giving up yet....so I will play some with the spec.
Have you checked the Panther presets? I'm sure we can fix it, but as I'm not needing the Black panthers in my work right now I sort of went THAT needs work and just moved on. I'm playing with the Saber-tooth right now more than any others.
ok you keep forgetting I am stupid at this.....I looked at the texture map.....I don't know where to find them (the presets) LOL....Hey I bought that lux render that I don't know how it works maybe that would help.....ya think???
Not the TEXTURE my friend, the FUR preset. In the LAMH player Window. Windows>Panes(Tabs)>LAMH here I have set the Panther Preset to use Midnight Black. You can adjust FUR presets in the interface.
Ah ha said the blind man as he stumbled into the post......cool I just hope I can reset that to default as well...LOL ok if I play with this will it FUBAR it forever???? I have a cute little warning label...????? I am not pushing merge or overwrite till you tell me........ok my brain is working again I can just re- download it with the DIM correct???
