Are you sure you are not covert NSA....LOL......got an idea for a render I have been looking at the art gallery and I am really liking all of these magazine cover renders.....going to try one of those later...If I can figure something out that is.....
Ok well here is my first stab at it........
What you received was an automated response. Everyone receives that response if Customer Service is more than a day out on tickets. The purpose of the response is two fold - first to assure you that your ticket has been received and is being reviewed, and second to suggest that you search the help center for an answer, because the majority of questions CS receives can be answered in the help center.
You'll get an actual response from customer service when they get to your ticket. The procedure for a ticket like yours is that it will get filed as a bug. One of the SW QA testers will try and confirm the bug and probably contact you for more information like steps to reproduce, etc. They will then forward all of that information to the developers who will then address the bug.
Jared I did say in a PM to this user that I understand that was not the full info, and that I understand code issues can not be solved in a hurry. I was more amused it echoed what I had said in my email. I meant no disrespect. As a ex-coder myself I know the way the issue must be dealt with. I am well prepared to offer more info at the time it is needed if requested. This was more a banter with a friend post than a slight at DAZ Studio. I am sorry if it sounded harsher than it was meant.
EDIT: DAZ is my program of choice and I have full trust in the error getting corrected.
WOW after all these years....I have always wanted to say that to someone......You have mail.....from that movie....my dream came true....LOL.....I want to be an addict how much do I have to talk to become that????.....power member to addict....LOL
You in the PC Club? If not I'll pop into the Green Box thread and check for you.
Yep.....why does that matter???ok... I will bite... what is the green box....????
If I remember correctly it was 2500 posts
Well that won't happen today that's for sure....not even I can go on that long....LOL....I can't get my mind off of the poor little bunny's I wish I would have never asked what mixie was......
Jade: I think you should put an entry in for the Bryce contest.....what do you think???? I will help you.....it would be fun...
I think I have not booted Bryce in so long that the interface will give me a fit for like 5 hours and then I'll need to pull a ax outa my PC and explain the tragic wood chopping accident so my insurance covers the damage and rebuild.
And its Addict at 5001 posts Trish.
EDIT: Could be 2501 was long ago.... I could not find the list.
you already rendered that scene at llola lanes place....I will never make 5001...unless I pull some all night over time.....I just figure since Darkside was giving you fits you might want to give my program a try...LOL...time for my afternoon nappy see you later gator...
It's 2501, and then a long wait to find out what happens if anyone ever does get 5 little boxes, at whatever enormous number that comes in
LOL!! I do have Bryce, I have used Bryce. I even enjoy Bryce when I remember what does what. I keep the Bryce Bible right over there <<< for that. As for the box thing...<br />
Hint its not 14000 either for 5 it seems.
laughing - you do OK
well if I had my pick it would be Bryce if it was 64bit
I started with Bryce and Carrara 1 ( was a lot of fun back then ) I remember you could use it for 90 days , then
you had to buy it - wow wonder how long ago that was .
C8.5 is still fun - just harder to learn ..
....Lost.....
And it's so difficult to get decent directions in a dark, black space too, the poor thing!
LOL...so true.....hard to find your way in the dark
........Wizard Revenge.......
cool render
Thank you.......he is a fun character....
....No Title Yet....was working on getting the shoes to match the dress....
Project .obp to .obj ....fun ...fun...fun......first shot is what it looks like in Bryce....second shot is what my desktop looks like after export from Bryce as a wavefront .obj.......The third shot is what it looks like in Darkside ...I had to zoom in to find it and it is not all there....should I just re-model it in another program this looks like it will not be fun at all........I have an idea ...I'll be back...well that is useless heres what it looks like when I tried the wonderful useless Bridge....would it mike a difference if I tried to model it again in like Carrara???
I had to post this about my cat ...every time I fill her water bowl with this pitcher... she must see if anything is left inside of it....and ends up pushing it around the room....LOL Trish
The First import image simply looks as if the textures are not there. Did all the parts list in surfaces? Or the Scene Tab tree?
well that's a good point that I will check...duh...sometimes its just the simple stuff....be back shortly....ok did a screen shot.....I think I am drain bramaged....should it be separate parts since it is grouped together??? when I model in Bryce I don't have to name separate parts ...could that be the problem??? and I have a few Booleans in there also....like where the diamonds are at they should be hollow....
:-)
good one
Jade: If there is a program that I could re-model in and it would all show up correct in Darkside ...what program would be it??? It seams it would be easier that way...
bigh: thanks ..she is quite funny about some things...
You got Hex? If so load the Obj into HEX and if Loads proper there just do a Re-save of the OBJ. It looks more like a materials issue than mesh issue.
But First just check the OPACITY on all the surfaces in DS. They should all be at 100% not zero.
I really wish I knew more about Bryce. I'm quite sure that we would be able to export stuff from it that wouldn't open so well elsewhere... we'd have to be really mindful during the creation process, I guess.
Same goes with Carrara, we can export, and the export can go fine... but if I were to use functions that are not available in other programs, even an obj export can become funky.
When I make models for use in DAZ Studio from Carrara, I create a vertex model and sculpt the shape out around a DAZ figure, like Genesis, for scaling purposes. I love modeling in the Assembly Room that way! Anyways, then to get the scale right in DAZ Studio, just before exporting as an obj, I go to the Motion tab and check the Uniform Scaling box and scale it down to 1.042, which makes it effectively disappear in Carrara. Now export it as an OBJ using Poser preset export option, and check off what I need in that dialog. In Carrara, if you're using procedural shaders (made up entirely with functions - no texture maps), we can have the export convert those to maps, which is handy for bringing it into DS and/or Poser.
Then when importing into DS, simply use the Poser preset during import obj, and the scale will be as you've modeled it originally in Carrara.
Each of these software apps have their own scales. I haven't a clue of how to set for scales in Bryce before export. I have a strong feeling that the magic number is floating around in the Bryce forum somewhere... somebody always seem to know the magic number! :) I learned the Carrara magic number from Phil Wilkes. Funny how that number is still engraved into my brain! ;)
But it sure looks like there's more than scaling issues going on here... I'm not really sure what to make of it. Puzzled = Me
