Thank you very much and I will check out the tutorial ...also good point about the soft shadows.....I have just been using distant lights and spot lights....I think I am a chicken to try fancy ones.....I appreciate any and all advice..... it only helps me learn.....
Nothing wrong with Daz default lights :D AoA Advanced lights I use allot mainly to speed up renders, specially since I use allot of Garibaldi. To fake IBL and add ambiance to a scene, I love specifically Advanced Ambient light. Ive always had slow renders using Uber Environment for ambiance/soft lighting, but that said, it is still widely used, even in Daz promos. It is all a learning curve, and hopefully the small tut will be inspirational to you, I know just seeing him setting up the scene lighting taught me allot :D
And shes adorable! Love the use of colour in the first one, beautiful render, works very nicely with her backdrop and pose. :)
With lighting, I usually go with a low-light UE (I do fiddle with the settings, though - it's not always good out of the box and things may end up looking spotty and blotchy). It takes some practise, but I do liek the results. Apart from that, I have 1 or 2 distant lights and fill up with spots and/or point lights in various strangths and colours as needed or desired. No deep shadows, only raytraced shadows and only on the lights that need them. I like having one or two weak shadowless spots :)
And yes, I usually build from the main idea of 3-point lighting, but I rarely stop at 3. Just play and do what feels good. Don't be afraid to experiment, You can alsways have multiple saves after all ;)
Spiro: wow thanks so much for the video link....I will have to watch it several more times... but there is one heck of a lot ....of things I did not have any idea about....I did not know you could look through the light ...like you do the camera....Thank you
mori: thank you also ....I have been playing around with different things lately the next render will show that hopefully....LOL

Well I finally got 2 quick shots of Rockstar....He was in the big oak tree so I rattled some dry cat food and he came down to eat ....This is the first time I have seen him out in the daytime......

Lovely photos.

yet another outfit in green light.....
Is the actual light coming out of the source green? I don't see any green light. Maybe the tablet isn't showing the tint. Cute render
Edit - I'll look at the render using a netbook later. Gotta do some chores now
Thank you ...yes there is a distant light set to a light green also a spot.......

Quick question for anyone who happens to stop by......Does anyone else have serious lag time moving this HD stuff around on the screen ...like just rotating around the person?????
Ok Thanks Jade.....thought it might have been my computer...glad so very glad it is not....LOL

went back to messing with Brandon for a minute......
trying a night scene......
For a moment there, with all of that make-up on, I thought he was a girl; then I got a better look at the torso. Definitely a "pretty boy".
Tramp Graphics.....LOL yes Brandon does appear to be the meek and mild type....I need some manly men!!!!
