this is out there
night
bigh: Thanks???
........The Watcher......
.....Waiting....
...much needed rest.....
.......don't have a title...
Love it...especially the signs.
nice to see you doing and using different props
The blue dress is pretty.
Thank You very much All.....I am not really happy with either of the next two but since its been an all day project....I thought maybe I would throw them up and see if anyone has any ideas on how to improve them.....I got really carried away putting in bricks and grass and plants...ect...
Pretty darn good work it is too. One thing many newer users have not learned is that one shot. A Exterior with a interior that will have a shadowed light compared to the full open, more often than not, exterior sun light. Here is were you learn to work with a brighter Day time shadow casting light and a Ambient fill light both to get the interior properly light as well.
.....Vagabonds... saved this scene to go back later....The wagon is way to bright but I have directed all lights off of it.....?? Thanks Jade I will do some more research on my lighting...I have the advanced ambient and spot light product....haven't played with it yet. maybe its time to read the PDF.....LOL is right Holy Shit Batman I don't even understand half of the wording in that PDF....It's like trying to understand Stephen Hawking's concepts
Idle question before I head to sleep.
Is that wagon, why you were interested in that light set?
And is the textures (especially Ambient) on that wagon correct? Is it supposed to be (by the Product Creator) a Cinderella White gleaming wagon?
If you don't have any light on the wagon, and it is glowing like that, something is definitely up.
Are you using lights to illuminate everything, then adding an environment light of sorts (Like UE2) without dimming something? It doesn't look it tho???
(edit)
I do like allot of the renders I've seen here in passing.
I am trying to answer but the web keeps cutting me off....I will post what the promo looks like and the scene without the wagon same light setup....distant lights and 2 liner point lights....
so here we try again to post a picture...I don't use uber or stuff like that I haven't delved into all of that yet...so I mainly make do with the basic lights....I have others but....have been unwilling to take the time for rendering...Thanks for liking my stuff....It is the first time I have used this wagon for anything
no hurry, lol. let "the Ethernet molecules" wake up, lol. I have a Sunday net in a bit (amateur radio), and storms clouds are rolling threw this neck of the woods here.
It looks like the left-hand-sleeve of the shirt of the person on the right is way to white (Over exposed), Possibly...
Also if that is the same horse, as the one in the promo, it also looks way to bright, again, Possibly...
The colors are not even the same, you have a reddish-wagon, and they have a dark-almost-turquoise -wagon.
It looks like they did some post-render editing to that set of promo pics for that wagon, and the grass and background trees in the promo pics are much darker (almost black). They may have rendered the Wagon at midnight-light-levels, then Photoshopped the person with the guitar in after the fact (The person is not casting shadows the same as the standing horse).
Attached is a different promo-pic of the same product. Again, there is something up with this. I had a figure do something similar recently, way paler then in the promo pics.
Well lucky me has 2 more wagons..... and out of the 3.... one will work... notice the light settings........Strange....glad I did not buy any more...they don't work for me anyway
I was just looking at the price, and thinking, as the last small order this month. I could buy that and try it under the Uber-Panel-Camera things vs just DzSpotlights to see if it is a surface shader issue. I'll heed your warnings, and yes, the one with the dark dome-top on the "Glowing" wagon base clearly shows the surface shader issue with that.
That is a drastic difference in light levels as well. wow.
I think the "Glowing" one may have been intended as a doll house prop of sorts, just a thought.
Hello Trish
Did a quick sticky beak at the information for the item, and it says "DAZ|Studio-optimized MAT pose file included." So I guess only the one that you used and looked like the sellers image was that file. I'm still having fun and games getting the light to work on my renders, sometimes I get lucky first try or there-abouts, while other times it takes 5 or 6 renders at least before it looks like anything I imagined.
As regards Dr Crab and that Island, how about a close-up shot of a toon/.anime style pirate looking out from near his boat-house with Dr Crab sneeking up on him to "test his reflexes" with a good nip ?
Regards, Bunyip
zarcondeegrissom: If you do that and get it going please let me know how you did it .....DIM put it only in two places here and here....I don't know how yours will be but just saying..... I just saw something the preload with the hitch says new....I loaded the one with the stairs????
Bunyip: Whats up.... cool idea !! I will work on that ...that will give me something fun to do...need that about right now anyway...after the wagon ordeal...LOL
Nope but the wheels look better...I took the one light even lower.....done fooling with this thing
OH big Blue Helpy guy if you check in would like your thoughts on this wagon deal.......
The thread moved past my last look, lol. I'll call it a surface shader issue. I would have called it "Done", after that last test with the two-tone-wagon. Some people like dark light scenes, others like blinding bright scenes, etc. It's the bane of using both types of stuff in a single scene, and trying to get it to look correct. It will just never happen. (Edit; not without doing two renders and combining them in Photoshop or Whatever)
My thought before that;
Minor hint about light placement, as per your comment in Novica's thread. Judging by the number of posts you made, I hope I'm not just incessant babbling to you (and anyone else looking for answers).
Back in February/March I took a detour from the CG intro vids, and looked at some Photography Studio light setups. Also theater stage lighting as well. That is where I start every scene, then I add low-intensity lights (about 25% to 10% intensity or less for Menu-Spotlights) as needed for specific items. Then I adjust the light intensity of ALL the lights in the scene accordingly for the extra lights. I may even repeat the process many times before I'm willing to just call it "Good Enough".
With the Studio 4.6 Menu-Lights, it was easy to judge the light levels simply looking at how stuff looked in the view-field, All these advanced shader lights kind of ruined that easy method for me. If it was not for that "Spot Render" tool, I would just give up all together. It's just not worth waiting over half-an-hour to see if a subtle light intensity adjustment out of a few hundred, fixed it.
From what I've just seen the past few pages at least, your efforts are very good. I almost get the impression you are just trying to figure out the finer details of your preferred lighting style. Unfortunately I don't think a Lighting preset product, or coping some ones else's light scheme exactly, will replace some very important Time adjusting the light levels yourself to your liking.
Some people like dark light scenes, others like blinding bright scenes, etc. It's Your Style to develop yourself, not mine or some one else.
Brain Storm... Shadows (Ray trace, or other), are ALL your lights set to some kind of shadow other then "None". Some surface shaders have issues with no shadow lighting.
ray trace is what I have been using.....on all of them...yep you got that right trying to figure out my style is the big thing I am working on.....
Bunyip: I don't know if you have looked through my stuff but here is the start of Mr. Crab (Winston) and Albert.... http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/28462/P165/#479019
WOW that is a trip...I just started looking back over my starting out posts....I think I have gotten some what better at using Darkside...LOL cool
Just noticed the flower head people in the new releases...who are they supposed to be????
I don't know either, other then (oops Aiko6) Anime probably. Cartoon stuf is just not 'My Style' so I didn't look threw much of that sail stuff.
They have an Einstein, wow, That looks just like the 1988 "UCanDo" training vid cartoon character, lol. Is Einstein even still available, or is that a previous to V3 figure?

Silly question, or two. GF2??? is that G2F (Genesis 2 Female) a different way?
http://www.daz3d.com/forums/viewreply/506388/
and whom is that?
http://www.daz3d.com/forums/viewreply/506125/
My Genesis 2 doesn't look, Anything like that, lol.
"O" snow, yea we get that here in the far reaches of, brrrrrrrrr, country. lol. (Not a render)
One of the G2F figure shapes that comes in a bundle to many to hunt through right now for the Full name, For me to hunt it anyway.
You send any of that Far north crude to the Deep South before I use up the summer and its SO ON!! He sayz eyeing his assortment of sharp pointy things.
I think the wagons have reflection maps applied, which act very differently in Poser and DS - lower or zero the Reflection Strength on all surfaces as a starting point.
zarcondeegrissom: they still sell Albert http://www.daz3d.com/toon-scientist oh my I love the snow you can send it to my house where the humidity is about to kill me......all I had was the basic G2 and kept getting characters for him and her....that model would be Kori who I use a lot I got her with the Olympia 6 pro bundle..... http://www.daz3d.com/daz-bundles/olympia-pro-bundle http://www.daz3d.com/kori there she is but you have to own Olympia 6 to use her....
Richard: Thank you so much I will try that out....
LESSON 1 Stealthy sneak up on the lucky victim ....I use the 3 legged method....you might not be able to do this...right away....determine your strongest claw mine is the left 6 times out of 10 I will clamp on you with that one.....pay no attention to the look on my face that was adopted by me for my own uniqueness...you must find your own...
Richard is right it will work that way....if you click on each part and kill the reflection and change the lighting mode to matte....I just wish it could be made to always be like that.....oh brain storm ... I will change everything and save as a scene sub set...then it will be that way always.....YES....Thank you Richard for your help!!!
