I love looking at this thread, every image is so inspiring!
Ok just a quick on a kitbash I was doing to fix a freebie over at Rendo. I appreciate the vendor making it a freebie after he gave up on it for some reason. Might end up messaging him to see if he would pick it back up. The shirt texture is my own.
Genesis 8 morphed over to Keiko 6 and a touch of Sakura, with 3D Outlaw's simple eyes for Sakura 8
Man7a's Military Uniform for Genesis 8 freebie:

Shoes are from the old A3 Sailor uniform
And the skirt is from aoaoi's old G School Uniform 2 for Aiko 3 as well.:

ditto!

Here is my latest, using a couple recent freebies (Long T-Shirt and Cozy Dining Room).

Another view of the same scene.
Really nicely done on the facial features (and sorry about the delayed reply..somehow I stopped getting notice there were posts ) Nice angle and light catch to get the "sweat" too :) Really nicely done
Very cute! Has a really nice Anime feel to it (the outfit as a whole is very reflective of the genre). I personally have always had a soft spot of Anime and Aiko
Really nice Barbult. I LOVE the curlers and both angles are really engaging. This tells such a nice story - but he needs to get his face outta that phone hehe...cellphones...the new newpaper hehe. Lots of great touches that make this image very grounded. I really like it
Kit bashing is a ton of fun and I personally feel like the artwork sometimes comes out better when you kit bash. Rather than rendering someone else's vision of something you get to find your own voice and story within the pieces. I hope you will consider joining the fun
Not quite as Kit Bashy as some other images I've done but I really liked how it all came together. I did a lot of hand tweaking on here more than kit bashing. From tweaking some materials on like the clothing to sort of splicing things from different characters together. I really liked the end result

Ann, I like the way they are gazing into each other's eyes. That is a sweet romantic scene.
+1
Thank you. Considering I am modeling ships and doing textures for a good friend's alternative history Macross/Robotech... I would say I was hooked on anime lol. Been kitbashing with the old A3 stuff that I have been missing to get the looks I want for enlisted . Had seen a male sailor looking uniform in an old anime so started this to try and get the look.
Actually biggest problem I am having now is my runtime is now too big lol. Getting random crashes due to not enough memory.. i7 processor and 4gigs of RAM aren't cutting it anymore lol.
Sounds like you in bad need of a new PC or laptop!
Been there myself. If you use DIMM you can go through and uninstall some of the stuff you arent using or dont need "right this minute" and then reinstall it on a case by case when you do need it. I've been doing this for like 18? years now LOL I definitely dont install everything. I put in what I use the most and then let the smart content show me what I have that isnt in there. When I need something then I either install it quick from the smart content or go to DIMM and do it. IDK if its helpful to you but seemed worth sharing :) Hopefully you can upgrade your computer some I bought a new one a couple years back now (that I am STILL paying on ROFL) so now I dont have to worry as much but I still actually do that...sort of let DIMM hold the stuff for me till I need it.
As fir Anime, Ive always liked the general style though I oddly dont much watch it. Now both my sons..very different story. I think they watch every bit of Anime they can (and sometimes have me watch certain ones) RWBY (which has an artist who is part of the community), Death Note, Full Metal Alchemist, (Does Avatar and Kora count?) All those they've had me watch with them over the years and then some (and all of them were really good). Generally though they refer me to it (They are my anime experts ROFL)
Thank you both - (which reminds me actually there was another product I use OFTEN in a fair few of these that I didn't remember to put down) Look At Me Pose Control by RiverSoft Art: https://www.daz3d.com/look-at-me-pose-control I find I like the control in it better...I use it to get mostly there and then sort of tweak from there. It does a really nice job. The soft facial expressions etc were done by hand (so they would be more subtle) using Puppeteer (which I LOVE) LOL
@DAZ_ann0314 saw Nights of Romance is out, it look Amazing!! It went into the cart but can't check out until I get my money (or get real lucky in a contest lol)
And also, thanks for the kind words of my Training pic :) I lvoe comingi n here and see the pics, there's always something that make me go "oohhh that is a great use of that item" or similar :) well done everyone!
Thanks and yeah that was the pack. I did a lot of kit bashing with it (OK maybe a bit too too much...I had promos not even there. All together I did like 60+ renders ROFL) and TY I appreciate it. The set took me like 8 months to make (IDK if people can see that but I hope so). That said I don't want to turn this into a commercial thread by accident so if you wanna come see info on that set etc, I have a thread in The Commons.
I enjoy looking as well. People are so creative and I feel like artwork like that is always engaging and interesting on multiple levels between what you put of yourself into what you created as well as the interesting ways people use individual pieces
Sorry Ive not posted in a bit. Got busy around here (Tis the Season) I will be adding more images soon. PS Please do feel free to share all your lovely renders. Ive really enjoyed seeing how all of you use various items
This one was kit bashed with a lot of third party freebies and of corse Daz and PC+ freebies!!!
May I just tsay that I love the idea of this thread?
Very cool. I love kitbashing with freebies too, 'cause I'm really poor and my vision for an image never really matches up with the kit I get.
Wow that is a pretty elaborate kit bash Really nicely done. I recognize some parts so I can see all the different things you combined there. Very nicely done and you did a great job of making it all look like it goes together
Thanks! Please feel free to share your renders I really do think its useful seeing how other people put a variety things together (one to show how many different ways anything can sort of be used - which is very useful for those on tight budgets especially) and because I think its always enjoyable seeing how people can take things seemingly "unrelated" to each other...and make them work together.
I think thats true for lots of people (on both accounts really) As a PA when you make something you have a vision in your head of what "you need" or "what you want it to become" but that can only take any set you make so far I think. Finding ways to use those items or pieces beyond that scope I think is a great way for people to maximize their investment in what they are buying. Its why I like kit bashing so much. It takes what may have been a 1 use purchase and turns it into something you can use over and over. That said, when I first started out (as a customer shopping originally) I remember only sort of seeing things as they were presented in promos. As time went on I started to see the items for their potential and reuse but it took almost retraining my brain to see past what was presented (or maybe that was just me LOL).
I think that is why when I became a PA I always tried to make the sets in a way to where you could sort of take this or that piece and use it in other ways and other scenes. Granted as a PA sometimes that has made sets difficult to stay on track with (I call it Squirrel Syndrome LOL - I can get distracted with how else I feel someone may want to use something and then lose the vision of what I meant the set to be ROFL) Its also created some other various hurdles (what size to have textures if you don't know how close or far the item may be rendered etc) but overall its still a personal preference both when shopping and when creating things. Im always looking at "how else can this be used" or "how much mileage can I get from this"
When you are on a tight budget especially (and over the years we definitely have been) I think that becomes an even bigger priority/skill that is very useful.
On another topic, wishing all of you a Very Merry Be-lated Christmas and a Happy Holiday Big Hugs
Thank you. I should post more things here .. I think my brain turns to mush after a long session .
Anyone know where I can find a good scythe lol.
Ok this seemed to work lol . Blended Rogue Element's glaives and halberd to get the scythe. Strike Long Hair from Val3d Boots from Rocker outfit, Leggings from Infernal Succubus and Goldie Locks Lolita outfit for rest. Oh figure is Goadan's Yue character mixed with Hinky's YuYu character on Gen8F.
Had a little fun with the postwork.
Poisen has an awesome morphing scythe over at Rendo. Don't know what style you're looking for, but the morphability provides hours of fun :-)
