    Actually have it in my cart right now. A little tight on funds so waiting for my reward points to kick in so I can grab it lol.  Been on my wishlist for a long time.  Honestly considering his style  I was surprised IS hadn't done a scythe yet.  I used the glaive and halberd from Rogue Element to get that.

    I like your halberd mash-up :-)  I haven't looked at my wishlist over there yet... but I will, becuse I am weak, and there's still a few Poisen things I don't have, and with the wishlist sale... I'm not sure I have funds after what Daz did to me over the last few months, but I'll break a piggybank.  It just might belong to one of my kids!

    Typical 3d junkie  grabbing from the kids lol.  I still might go ahead and make a scythe prop once I finish building this aircraft carrier freebie lol.

    Wow!  I go away for a month and come across a topic like this one!   Intimidating for a rookie.  Now I know why members like Barbult, Linwelly, and Kismet are CV instructors at NUC.  (Also why DAZ Ann has that in her handle and the company logo.  That first render is amazing.  All of them are really, so I'm curious.   Are we allowed to ask “how did you do that” questions?

    Here's my own attempt.  I guess it's "kitbashing."  It's not really doing anything with geometry or rigging.

    Scene is from an on-going story based on comics I draw.  (Wanting to avoid entrapment, the police aren’t very subtle about a sting operation against oldest profession.  Foolish character gets arrested for handing policewoman a fake credit card.)

    Police woman is Olympia 8 based “Sarah” variant.  Novak for G8 is police guy.  ‘Stupid Customer’ is G8M with 200 face/body morph packs.  Building is from “Alsace” mega-set.  Fake room is just planes with diff. textures on them.  Piano from “Kozy Kitsch" Livingroom props.  Paige Hair 8 on policewoman, Osher hair on foolish guy, and Shirt Afro Hair for policeman. She has on Casual Wardrobe items, Burlesque Outfit stockings & Sandals for G3-G8 I think.  Scene also has Law Enforcement Outfit & Firearms Pack.  Some of her makeup is homemade .png files for LIE that I learned from using ‘dirt’ that came with Leony for V8.  Lighting is a combination of Dome at 3AM and some homemade emissive lights inside building and outside to add a little more fill.

    Sometimes you mess with the geometries and parameter settings. - points further up the thread-  I get that fox ear look by seriously  changing up goldtassel's anime kitten hair for G2F lol.  But for the most part it really depends on how things go together.  Sometimes you need to create a new transmap to get things to join properly.  I have a kitbashed miko priestess outfit on one the threads and I used pieces from 4-5 outfits and transmaps to make it work.

    Shaders are also your friend.  Applying the same shader to different items can also help to make everything look like it belongs together.

    -chuckles- exactly. Honestly have been trying to fiddle two items up. A better boys school uniform( not sickleyields) and a sailor style school jacket. Been seeing it a lot in the newer anime/manga

    I do a LOT of kitbash. I've only been doing this since October 23rd. I don't have a big library yet, and am a junkie for freebies, but I get a lot of enjoyment out of getting these things to work. This scene is about 90% done. I have a friend who's going to model me a helmet to hang on the handlebars, and I still got to work out one last bit of clipping with the jacket. Believe it or not, there's no clipping anywhere else. You can 360* this sucker!

    I've been meaning to somehow make an island for a long time. I want something rugged from somewhere far north, but all the ones in the shop seem to be tropical desert islands. I suppose I could have done it in Bryce, but I just can't get my head around that software.

    So, I decided to kitbash together the island that I want, from several that don't suit me. May I present The Island of the Sea God...

    The central rocky bit of the island is from Evolution Island, the beach is from Secluded Island. I've covered the join with some Rubble for Everyone, and decorated with a statue from Enchanted Island! There are rectangular markings on the sand of Secluded Island, where the beach hut and other structures stand. I didn't want that, so I hid them with a few Flat Rocks.

    Surround it with Design Anvil's new Ocean, and use the background mountains from the Mountain Rite as a distant mainland and we have an island! Just needs a bit of Ron's brushwork along the shore.

    Ok need some help. Been trying to kitbash something and I am seriously stumped. I can get everything else but that jacket .. Any suggestions?  I can rig the sailor collar from an old kobamax outfit but the jacket is giving me fits.

    This isn't an exact match but looks close.  The style at the bottom of the jacket is a little different.  School Days

    Thanks for the links. Some useful stuff for other projects there.   I actually have School Days. Tentman has been one of my favorite sources for kitbashing non sailor anime school uniforms.  The hang up is it is a jacket not a shirt , otherwise it would work lol.  Here is a pic showing how it is a jacket.  And a pair of renders with and without kobomax's V4B collar adapted. Like I said Tentman is gold in the kitbash department lol. 

    Have been debating using the jacket from this as a possibility , even if the price makes me cringe.

    Okay Kismet  I took a stab at doing it this way with that one link I gave.  It seemed to work.  Trying to figure if I could do a geoshell for the sailor collar. Only annoyance is , and I am including the vendor,  To get the texture maps you have to buy the early version.  Yeah I am kitbashing the hair as well lol.

    If you are not in a hurry perhaps you could wishlist the extra textures and wait for a sale.

     

    Finding an anime sailor jacket was definitely a challenge.  What you have created looks really good.  You have certainly risen to the challenge.

    Oh I did more than that.  Let's just say there is some serious issues with that product and I may ask for a refund . Either that or end up having a chat with Daz's QA people.  Ended up building the whole thing including the jumper with G2F MFD and a whole lot of geo-shells. Just need to add some morphs to one so it will fall and act like a proper jacket.

    Oh wow I missed all kinds of artwork! Hmm the forum isn't dinging me on the thread *kicks forum hamsters cage - BAD HAMSTERS* LOL

    I really love all the images that got posted. That was quite a surprise. I thought the thread had sort of died. Here I just missed there were new posts. The images are all really great! heart

    I did an image for fun with Valentine's Day coming and I fell in love with that Z Alone pack and wanted to do a render with it.

    Love Hurts (of course now I have the song stuck very firmly in my head LOL)

    Anyone interested in a really nice tutorial on Painting Tears in Photoshop..there is a really nice one here:

     

    From time to time I will probably post tutorials in here (generally for Photoshop but most transfer over to programs like PaintShop Pro or Affinity Photo fairly easily) Lots of times I do straight DS Renders in Iray and don't really postwork (or only minor Postwork like adjusting levels) Other times I have some time and decide to play more. On those days I take some me time and try to learn something new so when that happens I'll probably post the tutorials I dig up smiley
