ETA link to Fisty's liquid shader which I used on the puddle there :D

I like the shadow in this one. Makes me think of the old 1940s paperback mystery books. In a dark alley with huge shadows on the walls.

One suggestion here. I think it's cropped a bit close. Needs more space to breathe. Rats face is too close, out of focus and blocking the pumpkins. So maybe a camera rotate up to the right just a bit, then pan out a bit. Lighting is great. Just suggestions.

Adding my Monster Mash Halloween Bash entry. I actually started it last month, which is a good thing since the end of September and these past few weeks have been a bit crazy. I wanted to add a little bit more to it, but the file is 215MB in size and really, really slow to load and save. :ohh: I'll just have to be content with it as it is now.

There are a lot of freebies too. Some of them probably aren't quite clear, but I listed them anyway. Never know when someone might think, "I was just looking for something like that!"

Oh, and edited to add that the room is made from primitive planes, with some Filter Forge tiles. That Holiday Stage is huge. Even after shrinking it down some 65%, it was still too big to fit into any of the freebie room props I had on hand.

DS was sluggish when loading/saving that file, and when I had to make a few minor adjustments, which I was really trying to avoid by the time I got to the final rendering stage.

I assembled everything separately, saved the end result as a scene, and only loaded up all the separate scene pieces when I was ready to render. It's much easier to do it this way for posing, fitting tweaks, retexturing, and making Poser mats DS-friendly. I don't want to mess with the surfaces tab with a final scene like this; it's just too huge.

For this render, I built the room first. Once I had that looking the way I wanted, and a camera set up, I started making all the separate character scenes. The coffin buffet bar was one scene, the headless server was a scene, the cage women were a scene, the 18th C couple were a scene, the couch talkers were a scene, and the piano player was a scene.

Each musician and each dancing couple began as separate scenes, and later merged into two larger scenes that I saved as new scene files.

In all these scenes, everything is parented to a null object, which makes it easier to position them in the room.

After I created the scenes and saved them, I loaded up the main room scene, loaded up each people scene, positioned their null object where I wanted it, and made sure their feet were properly on the floor plane. Then I deleted the room parts and re-saved the scene under the original people scene name so that all the XYZ translation settings were saved.

When I'd done that with all of the separate scenes, I loaded up the room scene again and started adding back in all my newly positioned people scenes. After that was done, it was time to render. I saved the scene afterward because despite all the prepping and test renders, I still had to make adjustments to the lights.

It took about a half hour to save, and threw a couple hissy fits in the process. I'd get those "not responding" errors, but they went away if I waited long enough.

This isn't something I do very often because it's so time-intensive. Usually, I just do multiple renders and then assemble them in postwork. :coolsmirk:

Thanks, Dollygirl. Glad to help you fill out your database of freebies! Boris and Roxanne were the sole reason for my whining about wanting to use other base figures. It's a great set, even if M2 and V2 are old figures. The freebie hooded robe has a decent set of fitting morphs, so it wasn't too hard to fit to the Boris body I used.

RDNA has lots of great freebies, and they're often a little different. They really get into Halloween over there. (I just dropped $30 on a bunch of Halloween sale items too.) Don't know how I acquired so much stuff, except that I've been around a while.

I have a problem here....I have this big old empty spooky house I made, with a dungeon in the beasement, and no where to put it, so I want to give it away. Here is the deal...

I will be doing a mini contest and the prize will be this house. It is in .pp2 Poser format and the cell door opens and closes. Also the front dungeon wall can be hidden for rendering.

IT WILL BE A MUSIC TRIVIA CONTEST. You must answer 6 questions correctly. You post your answers, first to get all 6 correct wins. If you did not get all 6 correct, I will simply say "incorrect". You can then try again.

The entertainer/host of some of these parties was known for their unusual greeting of couple friends by fondeling the wives breasts on greeting. Always to hear a chuckle from the hubbie. 2 - This songwriter wrote a song that was recorded by Otis Redding in the 1960s. This got him recognition and he then wrote a song for one of the biggest recording groups of all time. It was released in 1964 by this group on one of their albums. The author of this song then formed his own group to try to make it and failed due to the sudden death of his bass player. 3 - In the 1970s there was a "rumor" that went across America about this song. In the middle of the song, there is something heard that started this rumor that sparked so much contraversy, the record company had to step in later and defend themselves.
