We got hit by that same '08 storm. No house damage but trees and poles down everywhere and 900,00+ without power in the metro area. We didn't get our power back for 4 days and it wasn't until 10 days that we got cable and internet. All from 3 hours of intense winds in a blue sky.
This is insane. 150 people, after being told they are going to get that 150 mph winds and 15-19 feet of storm surge (not including the rain of 12" or more) they decided to stay in Lake Charles in their homes. Hopefully the rescuers stick to their guns and do NOT make any attempt whatsoever during the storm to rescue them. Their families shouldn't be the ones suffering the consequences. And obviously, I hope those 150 morons at least had the decency to give their pets and livestock to others to get them out of the area. If you want to stay, that's on you. Your animals don't have a choice and you should do right for THEM.
Edit- LOL Jim Cantore from Weather Channel just said, "Show me the people who can hang on to a roof in 150 mile per hour winds." Then added, "And that's without even considering 15 foot waves."

Fat chance of that happening. Most of the time, if weather in the Pacific Northwest is even mentioned, it's because our weather is going to have an adverse effect on conditions in the mid-west and further east. Apparently, we have rather boring weather here.

If you haven't seen the fiasco of the new Product Library, get ready to see one big advertisement for DazCentral, and ALL useful information stripped away. Everyone PLEASE SEND A TICKET TO COMPLAIN. I'm sending to Technical Support (not sales) Here's a few key points, feel free to copy/paste or reword. Here's a link to submit a request, (to Technical Support) hopefully we'll do this en masse. For the Tech Ticket Tracker, I chose "Locate Product." (L'Adair also suggested Website Issue. Either will get the message across.)

The changes to the Product Library are unacceptable. This information needs to be restored:
The order number and date of the order.
I have numerous products that have been pulled from the store. Put back the details. When the product library no longer displays the details of those products,having only a single image is worthless.
And remove the Daz Central advertising. It is NOT THE FOCUS of the Product Library.
Please consider adding the SKU, so I don't have to open the product page to find it. It would be nice to have the artist's name on the page, too, or at least a link to a working Read Me that will give the artist's name.
The Product Library has now stopped being useful. Please restore it to what it was meant to be- finding information on PRODUCTS, not Daz Central.

This really erks me to no end......
One thing to note: even if you hit all the same points, you should find a way to phrase it in your own words if you can. A lot of places, when they realize something is a concerted campaign using all the same forms and words, tend to discount it, no matter how sincere all the people sending it may be.

Making our voices heard when Daz was planning on going to Daz Connect and encrypted content made a difference. If we don't speak up, Daz will never know how much we dislike the change.
Are you sure? They never revealed why they stopped releasing encrypted products, as far as I know.
@ladair Totally agree. What mystifies me is the answer to this question. Other than promoting DazCentral heavily- what were they actually trying to accomplish?
Anyway, TA-DAH- reached the first milestone in my quest to redo all my products. Last night at 11:23pm, I totally finished downloading all my products! I have been also busy making a folder for each product, dragging images into the folder, and dragging the files into the folder. Only on page 19 of that with also building my Categories. With hurricane season in full swing, I wanted to do downloading as the priority, but got enough pages done (Product pages, printed out the entire Product Library) with the images, so I could categorize if the internet went down. Which it does if we get hit, for at least two weeks.
No, they never did reveal why they stopped releasing encrypted products; But they did decide to limit the length of time they were encrypted, as a number of us suggested. They even gave one person $1000 in Store Credit for the suggestion.
I have no idea. It makes zero sense to me.
I have worked with databases since November 1969 and continued throughout my military career and then into a civilian career, paid and unpaid. The most dreaded thing I ran into was an 'expert' hired to 'improve' performance, appearance, or to 'simplify' the process or regulations and manuals. Disaster always resulted. They would speak to the managers or officers but not to those of us who actually did the work and had the experience to know our customers and what a certain change might cause. Or they wanted 'new, fresh ideas' from the recent college grads with no practical work experience. This has the feeling of 'improvements'.
DazCentral is a dumbing down of DIM. I can only hope the don't dumb down the sales pages.

Right now, I am apparently in the Christmas season from years ago, and these must have been freebies because there are no links to store pages. So I'm trying to remember- the freebies still had descriptions with them, didn't they? Just like the other Product Library pages? I'm hitting these almost one right after the other:

I turned in a ticket because I actually needed info on some products today and I can only retrieve the stupid DazCentral (don't want it and won't use it) advert. Not a happy camper.
I think those are from Christmas 2019 PA gifts, but I didn't save any descriptions of them.
Already heard back from the ticket requesting the Product Library be reinstated to its previous state. They said they'd pass the request along but couldn't guarantee there would be any updates.

So did I, and others (see the discussion thread). It kind of feels like we've all been given the finger by DAZ. I'm not at all happy.

Don't recommend holding your breath on them getting back and making a change
I don't expect change, except for the worse.
The products in my wishlist I will buy at the right price for me, at least as long as manual download remains accessible, and I know there are things upcoming that I want, but I don't feel like spending money here all that much.
