With the hurricane uncertainty earlier this afternoon, I had already called Maintenance over there and told them that bird feeder was Mom's and could they put it back over at her room, before they took down all the bird feeders next week (if they had to.) That way it would be at the right location and in that group of feeders from her wing. :) And now Laura looks like it is going to go Louisiana or Texas, and what a MESS. Two storms racing toward that area, both predicted to be hurricanes now (the other will drop down to a storm right before landfill, as of right now) So the first time EVER two hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico. What a season this continues to be- and we're just getting started! 9 storms already breaking records.
Brilliant! So glad to hear this.
@Novica Great news, so glad to hear that :)
Hah, knew it!
Since my external harddrive crashed and I had to switch to studio 4.12, I'm finding the studio misbehaving, changing how it operates. For instance, I decided to take a break from doing files and loaded a character. Why is she totally fuzzy and pixelated when in Iray view in the viewport?
Also, is anyone else experiencing the forums signing you out? I've had to sign in manually three times in the past two hours.
Yep welcome to the club
For the Iray viewport issue, check your Draw Settings in the pane of the same name.
For the sign out issue, yes, it has gotten ridiculous.
@barbult I don't see anything there that impacts pixels. I did go to Edit--Preferences--Interface and turned Per Pixel Shading ON (from OFF) No difference. Display Optimization is on Best. Turned Pixel Buffer ON. Still no difference. I don't even know what those DO but they relate to pixels.
Look at the Draw Settings pane. Select DrawStyle tab then the Drawing section. Manipulation Resolution will affect how pixelated the viewport is when you move around. I'm not an expert. You can probably find some recommendations with a Google search.
I'm so happy to hear this! Hurray for her!
Congrats to your mom (and you). I'm very glad she is doing okay. Yay!
@barbult Believe me, I'd already been going through forums after googling. Worthless. One guy was discussing turning off Per Pixel Shading to speed up the preview, others bickered about that, and no one posted any reasons for doing what they were doing. I was already in the Draw Settings pane, that DrawStyle "tab" is the Editor tab I assume, and under General there's Manipulation but I don't have Manipulation Resolution. I only have Manipulation DrawStyle (Use Current Off) and two bounding box choices in that dropdown. This is ridiculous. My 4.12 studio WASN'T DOING THIS. Jus started when I loaded it back up again. I still have 4.10 and may drop back to that. HATE Daz Studio at the moment. Took hours to do one render. I can't preview it, it's so fuzzy.
Here's another thread, I will have to try the mouse thingie. Edit- Nope, no go. However, I did find the Drawing> Manipulation Resolution which had gotten changed (and I didn't do it) from Normal to 1/32nd. (So I went to Window>Panes>Draw Settings like Barbult suggested, then to the Manipulation Resolution part. Hope this helps anyone else who has this problem.
What is Optimization> Refinement Mode? I put it on Interactive instead of Standard. Not seeing a difference.
Glad to hear about your mom. She's one tough lady!
This is such a good news! I am so happy for you and your family.
Great news :)
I'm glad to hear you're mom's test results are negative.
I'm constantly being signed out, has been going on for months now. I have "keep me signed in" clicked on but it doesn't work.
@barbult Thanks, I solved the problem and edited my post one minute before you posted your next one :) Appreciate the help, but what it was:
Edit- Nope, no go. However, I did find the Drawing> Manipulation Resolution which had gotten changed (and I didn't do it) from Normal to 1/32nd.
So glad to hear about your mom!
good news for your mom !
Happy to hear Mom is doingwell _AND_ you're getting your system running (sorta) like before...
Great news about your mom @Novica . She must be so happy to be back in her own room, comfy in her recliner..
Well, Tropical Storm Marco may be headed to the Gulf Coast further west from Pensacola, but look at the radar. We're the one getting the deluge of rain. Been pouring and pouring all night. We can always use the rain, but I'm sure roads are flooding. Just staying home and doing....yep....files.
Want to mention something for you folks who have ROKU (use internet for television, absolutely free- cut the cable!) I have CBS All Access so I watch CBS shows, always have. If I want to watch NBC or ABC I simply use my Leaf 50 antenna (a thin piece of notebook paper type.) Well, ROKU doesn't have The Weather Channel but Frndly.com does. It's either $6 or $8 (high definition, definitely want that, I tried the standard at $6 and really blurry.) It only has 15 channels (all the Hallmark, Game Show Channel, UpTV, sports, fishing) but all I really wanted was The Weather Channel. All the other subscription type services charge $40 to $60 or more which include The Weather Channel, but a hundred channels I DON'T WANT. So for the hurricane season, $8 a month to get Weather Channel was a great find IMO. Thought I'd mention it to folks who cut the cable and want that option (cheaply!)
Hurricane Laura is now predicted to be a Category FOUR with 130+ mph winds, according to NOAA. You folks in the Tennessee Valley are also expected to have power outtages, and now there's a mention of the storm turning back into a tropical system once it exits into the Atlantic Ocean. (Weather Channel) This is crazy. Everyone stay safe!
Thanks. Hurricane Laura is the type of hurricane that even though I live 1000 miles from sea sent a 75' maple toppling on my kitchen roof in Brandenburg in 2008. Now of course there was nothing I could do about that and the entire US can't evacuate for every weather event but since then I've moved and I've been careful to plant the very big tree (2 pecans) well away from my house so that in they fall they won't fall on my or anyone else's house. For shade trees I've used different sorts of fruit, almond, and hazelnut trees that only get 15 - 25 feet and those are away from the house too. Could conceivably fall of the drive way though. My niece's family in DFW had that happen with a live oak falling on their car parked at the drive way. It was more torrential rain softening up the ground too much in that case than wind. These heavier then usual rains we a getting due to melting icecaps and glaciers are causing an increase in tree fall dangers in many parts of the world.
Turned on the news after working this morning to see Laura officially at Cat 4 now. Storm surge expected at 15 feet? The window to evacuate from the coast is now closed. I sure hope that everyone in its path, or anyway affected by the surge is on high ground or safe from the winds. Be safe out there folks.
