Well, forget that. The skin tones are so different that Karine would be too ruddy. So in postwork, this is a similar skin tone so you can compare the characters regarding the way they look with the same expressions. Lyoness' promos will show you the true skin tones. Again, these are with the default eyelashes, I haven't reduced them in any way. Showing all these with the same hair (Char) EDIT: Shown with G2F skin, am rendering with Karine skin texture shortly.

EDIT: These are with the exact same expressions. Try it, you'll get a pretty relaxed, natural smile (if you have MeeMoo.)
    Excitement 0.079
    Happy 0.084
    Me Moo Happy 0.64
    Smile Full Face 0.26

See edit above. The first image is G2F skin texture, am currently rendering with Karine skin texture.
EDIT: Second image is Karine skin texture.
Edit: Third is with Barn Lights. Karine's pores look very HD to me, nicely done! Her hair is darker because I used a darker texture due to her eyebrows. Didn't think blonde went very well with her coloring.

    LY Evie
Autumn Soft for Genesis 2 Female(s)

    http://www.daz3d.com/ly-evie
    http://www.daz3d.com/autumn-soft-for-belle-6-genesis-2-female-s

Couldn't use the same expression settings on this one, she has a smile as big as the moon. Noticed this character has a bit more shadows under the eye when using the lights, had to do postwork and hue fixes to get a similar look, so again, use Lyoness' renders to see the skin tone.

Edit: This first one is with the basic G2F textures, my studio is acting up and didn't take the Evie ones. I am rendering that now.
Edit: Okay, second Evie is the Evie textures. Really love those eyebrows!
Edit: Third one is with Barn Yard lights.

This looks like a fun set for you iray users. Beautifully done.

For 3DL, I like http://www.daz3d.com/green-backyard-garden which includes a bonus set for the iray folks. Note if you have the mega bamboo product from this vendor, you can use those materials too.

Digivault is on flash sale for 60% off.

I'd like to contribute an LY Karine picture. She is the only LY model I own.

I modified the surface settings to suit myself for Iray. I really like the realistic texture of Karine. (I'm tired of perfectly smooth, uniformly colored models.) Karine's skin has realistic texture, markings, and color variations.

The lighting is provided by the River Road HDRI from HDRI Hub . It is released under Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported License. Based on a work at www.hdri-hub.com.

Beautiful! She is stunning- thanks so much for sharing!!!

Folks- Go back and take a peek at the others I rendered, (doing Aileen now) I wasn't happy at all with the lighting so I tried Barn Yard lights (with a few tweaks) and you can really see the pores on each gal. When posed, I tend to favor Evie which surprised me a bit. I like her bigger nose! I'm with you, I like folks who look imperfect and not botox babes. You'll really like the Lyoness ones for that.

I have gone back and done the previous ones last night, but folks who are subscribed wouldn't know that so I needed to tell everyone. The rest of the Lyoness characters will all be the same way, with that lightset and not posed with expressions. The same expression doesn't work well on them so I'll show them at default load.

Headed out the door (7am) to run to the dump, worked outside 5 hours yesterday (6am-11am) and my truck is full. Gotta shovel about 900 pounds of old mulch. TTYL.

One I tried a few minutes ago does delightfully too- try some of the Keiko mixed with MeMoo. It helps with the little turn ups of the corners of the mouth. :)

Novica, I was wondering why your Karine looked so different from mine. After a little experimentation, I think perhaps you do not have Olympia dialed in. If you use "Karine Shape Full", it will dial in Olympia automatically. If you only use "!!!Karine Head Apply" or "!!!Karine Body Apply", it does not. There is a separate "Olympia Apply" with the product that you can use in that case. Do you think that is what happened?

I'm using a camera focal length of 135mm in these images. The default camera loads with a 65 mm focal length. I think moving the camera back and increasing the focal length makes characters look more attractive. Just like with a real camera, if you take a portrait with a wide angle lens, faces are distorted and noses are big. I like to use 135 mm or even longer in DAZ Studio. I'm not sure what camera settings you are using. Do you have a favorite for portraits?

These images were rendered in Iray with the "Ruins" HDRI that comes with DAZ Studio 4.8.

Yep, that's it! :) I had gone back to check Nicolette as It dawned on me about ten minutes ago that some of these might be based on other figures, but it didn't click about Karine. I'll have to re-render her. Nicolette was safe, it was only G2F. Thanks for pointing that out, she did look so much harsher and I thought those lights were the culprits.

    LY Nicolette
    http://www.daz3d.com/ly-nicolette

Same lights (Barn Yard) and G2F based, no other figures required (lol.) It's the default camera (to answer the previous question.) I'll do a bit of a distant shot of a group after a few more of these later tonight. These aren't close enough for nose distortion, the noses on these are bigger (which I like, they look like real people.) But I will move the camera out on the group shot and we'll see. Great idea!

The lighting has no tweaking so you can compare the skin tones. Some of these gals seem to have more green, some are a bit more ruddy and light skin, some have more yellow. Lyoness put a lot of thought into making a variety. I am also including one with different lights and you can see how the skin tone changes depending on your lights.

Here's a fun one of Nicolette with Ciao Bella outfit and Crazy Locks Hair.

Really love the medieval stuff, and wanted to thank the vendors for the introductory pricing (and Daz.) If you're not a PC member, you are missing out on a wonderful deal (51% off) for the bundle. ($24.48) The items are priced with that discount individually too.

And of course, Merlin shines with the usual amount of stellar detail in the palace.

Wanted to mention- check out Fast Grab- it's loaded with goodies. They're definitely letting folks who don't have V6 to load up. Good for newbies. And I'd wishlisted the Burlap Doll- before you pass that one up, look at what you can do with it in the promos. So picking that up, and the pearls.

It's 5:30am and I'm out the door to do yardwork (It's Florida, it's summer, need I say more? It's 18 degrees cooler than what it will be 4 hours from now.) Have fun shopping today.

First of all, the vendor has a deep shadow map in the Sunlight lighting. Hello artifacts. Change it over to raytrace for the shadows if you have that same problem.

I can't figure out how to hide the walls. I am really tired and it's probably something I'm not seeing, but there are no walls to select in the Scene, and using the Surface Selection and Surfaces tab, opacity for the wall to zero did nothing. It's very hard to move about the room as the scene is so small, I know the camera angle can be adjusted but seriously, how do I hide the wall? It still blocked my view with 0 opacity and "walls" selected in Surfaces.

I also have some questions about glowing light in some of the folds of the covers. That area would be dark if it's under the fold? You'll see a few slivers of bright light if you look at the covers. Might be I'm tired and not understanding the view. Going to get some sleep but thought I'd post these. (with the vendors default lighting.)

G'nite. I'll tinker with it more later tomorrow evening.

Have you checked for morphs to hide the walls? The bright spots are probably backfaces showing velvet bright.. if you turn off velvet on the surface tab I bet they'll go away.. there's a way to reverse normals by selecting the offending polys, it's somewhere in the polygon group editor.

In Scene tab, there's a cube with M_Building, over in Surfaces tab, there is opacity but no slider! (can't change it.)

A bit confused- turning velvet off of which surface, the walls in Surfaces? For the comforter, there's Velvet horizontal (and vertical) tiles, both set to 1.0. I can easily do postwork and quickly dab the bright spots so it's no big deal. Thanks for the suggestion though!

The other thing that appears to be a wall (blocks view) is Outer Mat and when surface tool selected and opacity set to 0, still blocks view.
I'm out of time and patience messing with it. Appreciate your help as usual :)

The bright spots might also be due to the Shadow Bias setting on the light, if the surfaces are separated by less than that value there will be no shadow.

The Teddy bear looks cute. I admit, we don't have enough in the way of stuffed animals in the store. I like the rumpled look of the bed.

Not being able to hide walls, especially in a small room would be a disaster for me, though. Hopefully there is a hidden way to do that, you are just not seeing.

Hope those women with pieces magically clinging to their crotch in front have some superglue remover. That really is a fantasy piece of clothing. Watch how you move, girls- oops! It fell off. Try Gorilla Glue next time.

Wow, I can hardly wait for the promo images of two MEN playfully pulling on another man's barely-there-bottoms. (I say playful, but the expression on one of the women's faces doesn't match that. Add to that the woman is standing there with her legs spread as far apart as possible.)

Sex sells. So where's the men tugging on another male's clothing? We're waiting. (Not to mention the promo art of grayed out models and showing the lowering of the pants, the underwear...)

And where is several days worth of men's asses thrust into our face? And like today, we want only the ass, mind you. With the hand fiddling with the clothing.

LOL. I totally agree. I'm not keen on the two women tugging the one woman's underwear off. That looks rather painful to be honest. Agree about the sexism. What's good for the goose is good for the gander. Then again, I'm not sure that looks too enjoyable. Looks like pure pinup fantasy to me.

Not to mention if two men started tugging on another one's underwear or Speedo, they'd probably have a fist to their face and say "howdy" to the wall. (if not embedded in it.) Unless of course, it was a frat party or they were drunk regardless of where they were.

I realize it's meant to be a playful render to show the flexibility of the included morphs, but there is still a yuck factor for me due to her stance. That took the playful out of it to me.

Moving on- Question for those of you who have done rock shaders. What's your opinion on this set? Does it offer a big difference to what is already offered? I like the mat vs glossier surface options. Seems like a nice variety. However, I haven't used the rock shaders I already have so I don't know if anything is simiar.

Star Fury MKII looks like quite a cool vehicle. I love that tail-bar-piece that makes an oval in the back. Pretty cool.

I think the parasite is quite whimsical. Perfect for that retro sci-fi render.

The sales aren't as good as they have been this time round. I love it when there is some stacking for buying multiple items. Without a discount, I'm going to have to wait for a steeper sale to pick up some of this content since prices for individual items have gone up..

Yes, Star Fury MKII is cool!
When the buy 1, 2, 3 don't impact the items bought, it isn't an incentive for me, particularly when its to offer discounts on things that I already have in all likelihood.

Hi Cathie, lot's of fabulous renders, including this one. As for the wall, I ran into similar problem in the past, with another interior prop. Other then wall, I had to set Wall tile or Tile to 0% opacity, to completely remove wall. Drove me nuts, till I figured it out, Lol !!

That's interesting! Whenever I use the set, I'll try and experiment with it.
One thing I tried in Scene a few minutes ago- when clicking Solitaire Bedroom all the walls disappeared except the one behind the headboard. The headboard (and labeled such in Scene) and that wall behind it are the same group / thing, so you can hide three walls but not four from the SCENE tab. Over in Surfaces, Headboard- then Capitoneinnercornice/outer, whatever, is the actual headboard.

EDIT: I wish vendors would make the four walls each separate over in Scene so we could easily click on the one we needed to hide. I don't need three walls gone. I hate it when they are grouped together with one surface.
