Hansmar - thanks, beautiful underwater render.
The terrain was self made and with Posterize, Alt-Posterize and Subcontours simplified, as well as given a self made material. Above the terrain is a transparent mirror. Light and colour by the "AlienRoom" HDRI. Some additional specularity by the sun.
Very cool "techno fantasy" scene! Was it inspired by revisiting a thread about terrains?
Past as Future - thank you. Yes the render by Eugenius Maximus at page 5 (after my city) inspired me.
Horo : great fantasy terrain scene, beautiful colours.
I played a bit with the terrain editor, the foreground terrain was inverted.
Horo - wow it's hard to believe that's a terrain, awesome techno/scifi scene
Adbc - a beautiful render, lovely atmosphere.
adbc, very picturesque "painting"!
adbc - thank you. Very good how the inverted foreground terrain fits into the scene; great sky, too.
mermaid - thank you.
mermaid, Past as Future, Horo : thank you.
adbc, Horo, Hubert, Mermaid: thanks.
Horo, what a fantastic idea and very well executed too.
adbc, Lovely terrain render, great sky and colours.
I also wanted to make a render with Sibenik's cathedral model. It is wonderful to work with. I added a Genesis 2 figure with Isobella character and clothes and several instances of a 'grounded cape' figure from CGTrader (there are also two floating versions). The figure actually is only the cape, no 'person' in there. I changed the glass texture of the cathedral to a modified 'stained glass' texture by David Brinnen and I used a procedural texture on the cape figure instead of the original photographic texture. The sky is one from David and Horo (you do not see it, but it influences the light and colour inside, of course. I also added a cubic fill light with only internal light to provide the light in the cathedral. I call it "The intruder."
Furthermore, I modified my tree in a tree scene, adding multiple instances of the tree inside the outer tree. The textures are more natural now. But the outer tree has some reflection too.
Horo:
- Cool otherworldly spelunking with a fascinating mat.
adbc:
- A very moody planet image. Great terrain work and mats.
Hansmar:
- Wonderfully lit Sibenik's cathedral scene.
- Cool "nested trees" result.
Hansmar - thank you. Your Sibenik render is fantastic, the lighting excellent. I also like your tree render very much, it looks just great.
hubert - thank you.
Hansmar, hubert : thank you.
Hansmar : impressive Sibenik render, wonderful lighting. Excellent tree render as well.
Hansmar - excellent Sibenik render, awsome lighting and addition of the 'grounded cape' figures . superb tree render as well.
A terrain with a grass material and a bit above a copy with a flower material. The path is the ground plane with another material. Six BTO trees were instanced as 150 trees trice in the Instancing Lab. Ambient light by an HDRI, the key light by the sun.
Wow Horo beautiful forest, the lighting is awesome
Horo : I agree with mermaid, excellent render.
Again a terrain, posterized, a background plane with a coloured glass material.
mermaid - thank you.
adbc - thank you. Very cool terrain city. I like the idea of the divided city with the glassy middle part. Interesting background, too.
Adbc - wow excellent idea and very nicely done.
Horo, mermaid : thank you.
Horo: A wonderful forest scene with impressive tree work. Beautiful lighting/atmo and nice (faked) flowers! Sorta "Bob Ross going 3D" ;)
adbc: Cool SciFi cityscape! That mat works very well on the city/terrain and the background plane adds much to it.
Thank you hubert.
Hubert, Horo, adbc, Mermaid: Thanks.
Horo: great path through the woods.
adbc: very well made terrain city and impressive background.
I made two 'beach' renders with self-made terrain and an island from another author (forgot who). I added a lighthouse. The sky in both renders includes a slab by David Brinnen, but in both cases I modified it to get the result I wanted. Different sky settings as well.
Next up is a render of the Sibenik cathedral scene from the other side. I modified the lights to get the picture I wanted. Now you nicely see the stained glass effect in the back and on the other surfaces.
Finally, a scene that started as a city made from a terrain. But I modified the terrain too much and it did not look like a city anymore. Then I decided to make it something sci-fi with robot and reflecting cube and sphere.
hansmar - thank you. Both beach renders are very nice and show different day times and weather. Sibenik came out very good showing the stained window glass. Cool sci-fi scene.
hubert, Hansmar : thank you.
Hansmar : both beach scenes have an excellent and different atmosphere. Beautiful effect with the stained glass on the Sibenik cathedral and the scifi scene, well I like it very much.
I was on holidays and had to realize that the 53rd challenge had ended in the meantime. My fault, I should start earlier Nevertheless I made a image to the topic. The rat comes from sketchfab. Thanks a lot to Nyilonelycompany for the model.
Hansmar - very nice beach scenes, the Sibenik scene is outstanding, the Scific one- interesting results.
Electro-Elvis - awesome scene, sad you missed the last challenge.
@mermaid010: Thank you for your kind comment. Yeah, I have the feeling I slowly develop to an expert for missing challenges.
Electro-Elvis : wonderful, peaceful scene, sorry you missed the challenge.
Electro-Elvis - very nicely done island scene with the rat or mouse.
