mermaid: Nicely put into scene. Let us all meet for a virtual vacation there.  ;)

Horo: Great canyon scene. I love esp. the impression of depth and the sky's reflection in the water.

Horo : excellent render, nice effect with the water and the sand, beautiful sky.

A light, a sphere, a plane, an HDRI sky, some objects from Mat Creator, used the EWL for the splash effect.

I have been working (hobbying) on a small series of Bryce renders called "Voyages of the Erasmus" for my ultrawide screen 5120 by 1440 pixels.

Bryce doesn't seem te be able to do a render above 4000 pixels so I had to scale down to 3840 by 1080 which seems to work okay.

Here are a few of my first tries:

Rembrandt - Excellent (try), beautifully done renders, both of them.
If you put a render into the forum text, you should limit the width to 800 pixels, otherwise it gets the wrong aspect ratio. The full size can still be opened when clicking on the image, it's just on this page that the width is limited.

The terrain is from High Resolution Terrains 2, not smoothed and the resolution only 256 combined with a copy with only 128 and rotated by 180°. Both with a material from Gemstones one The Cable Stock set. Light and reflection from the TunnelLit_SC HDRI, which was made from an object from the HDRI for Sci-Fi Fantasy 1 set (56 hours to render).

    Three (obviously)

scaled number two and this one down to 1920 by 540.

I seem to remember from a few years back there is a certain rule for posting pictures.

If I have done something wrong, please let me know.

(EDIT: width shortened too 800. Thanks Horo)

  • The fourth one.

This wave material is a funny one. It only gives the white wavetops if you elevate it on the Y-axis.

  • Number five, an icy adventure.

Rembrandt: A great idea and wonderful series! Great compositions, atmosphere and  *water*. The first two scenes are my favorites.

Horo: A cool semi-crystalline landscape. It seems to be hot there, perfect to compensate a cold Winter day.  ;)

Rembrandt : cool set of images, all very well done !

Horo : great atmosphere, colour and reflection on the terrains, very special effect.

Rembrandt - now they look better in the right aspect ratio. Although the very first is my favorite, all five examples are just amazing.

hubert and adbc - thank you.

  • Thank you all for the comments.

You know you have been partying with Bryce for too long when you look out your window at the sky and think "Hmmm.. I would move that cloud a bit more to the left for a better result".

I love doing a nice cloud. This is one of them (I think)

Time to step away from the Erasmus for a bit.

I call this one "Beach ball", a small tribute to the tutorial tab of the installed objects.

You know, the one  nobody ever uses...

I stole the idea from one of of Davids turorials, I think.

I have to commend the excellent works of Rembrandt. I especially like the first and fifth.

    Still life with plums

    ***

I worked a little more with the plums material. Well, with lighting too. All models are my old ones.

Rembrandt - indeed a nice cloud and a beautifully done beach scene.

Slepalex - Very nice Still Life. I like the detail of the burnt top on the candlewick.

Rembrandt: Two more beautiful scenes. I like that wide sky/cloud in the first one and the beach/water work in the second.

Slepalex: Nice composition and great materials.

    mermaid - thank you.

Same terrain as the angular one above but not 256 unsmoothed but 4096 smoothed, with a material from the same set and a cloud slab from Object Clouds 2D & 3D.

    Thank you mermaid and adbc.

Rembrandt, Great series. I wonder where the ship sails to next.

Horo: Very weird crystalline landscape Not hospitable at all, but nice experiment. Though the second version looks very cold to me, I like the view much better.

Slepalex, Wow, you are still the master of Bryce still lifes; wonderful!

I have no idea how and why the picture in my signature disappeared. Anyone with any ideas?
