    Title: The Test Drive?

Don't tell me she's going to be stuck with the Fiat...

All your links check out, and you've given the theme a good spin.

You know she is going to be stuck with the Fiat! Nice render Kismet... clever way to highlight a lot of different car models too!

Or an old VW Bug if he can find one.

    Thanks Rob & Fiona.

    Great theme this month Rob.

So, hokay...now gits dis...Me Mudda, she buys herself a new 'fridge de udda day an' wanted me t' haul de ol' one to da dump t' git ridda' it. I tolt her, jus' leaves it in da alley fer da kids t' plays in. Hey, it wuz good enuff for us as kids, so why not? Afta' gittin' me backsides smacked, I hadda figure out wott I wuz gonna do. I don't owns no truck...hell, I don't even owns a car! Dis is Brooklyn, not L.A.! Wadda I needs a car for? We gots busses wotts run all over town...not dat I goes anywhere anyway. My bestes bud, Big Eddie Mac...you knows Big Eddie Mac, right? He drives a cab for a livin', but a cab ain't no truck an' I'm needin' a truck. But Big Eddie Mac, his ex-brudder-in-laws, he's gotta best friend who's got a cousin who's got 'em a truck! Dat's da way t' go, den! So den, Big Eddie Mac, he calls up his ex-brudder-in-laws who calles up his best friend who calls up his cousin...anywhooze, we got da truck.

Now, jus' as we was on our way t' da dump, we passes ol' man McGinty's corner store. Ol' man McGinty had jus' put out a couple o' cases of outta expired Ice Creams at da curb fer da garbage guy t' pick up. Dat's when I gits a massive brainstorm on how we kin makes us some extra bucks! We grabs da boxes of outta expired Ice Creams, shoves 'em in da fridge, which is stil kinda cool, and whips us up a sign real quick like. Bam! We're in da Ice Creams Vendin' business! We only sold t'ree or four of 'em before da cops nabbed us for sellin' stuff widdout a street vendor's licence. We give 'em da rest of 'em and dey let us off widda warnin' dis time. Y'know, if we'da sold alla dem t'ings we'da made enuff t' pay da dump fee and had just enough left over t' buy us a case or two. Man, it's tough runnin' a small business dese days...

As always, Louie gets into trouble with his schemes... but he wouldn't be Louie if he didn't.

A couple of issues with the freebie list:

rendercandy.com has shut down - but the freebies are still in the Wayback Machine. You can find "The Boss for M4" at https://web.archive.org/web/20130515135302/http://rendercandy.com/product_info.php/cPath/25/products_id/114

What did you use to convert the pick-up from LWO to something Daz Studio can use? I know music has insisted we mention the conversion software in the past.

But even if we have to move those to no-count, that won't cause any problems...

I started this project before the godz of freebiedom limited the parameter of "car". If they deem it outside the scope of the contest, I will graciously yield. In any case I had fun searching for all the stuff to make the render. If anyone is looking to do a racetrack scene, the first item under freebies, "10th Anniversary Freebie - Speedway Props by mapps", is AWESOME, there is so much more in it that I didn't even use, and everything is wonderfully textured. If anyone has a link to a better traffic light with textures on the lights, I would be grateful!

Title: Takin' the Babe for a Ride in My Hot Rod

If nobody else had entered a "bumper car" image, I was going to do one myself as a NAE ("Not An Entry") image. It has four wheels underneath and a steering wheel for the driver - it counts!

I recognize Mei's hairdo! The only freebie I've ever released is a texture set for the hairband. But you didn't use that freebie, so I know you aren't playing to the host... :)

Alas, the download link for the rabbit is broken - the description page is still there, but the file host is gone. (It isn't in the Wayback Machine, either.) I'm going to have to treat that as a "no count" item. But you have plenty of other freebies, so...

Woot! SO glad. The idea for this was based on a very happy 80's nostalgia (except for the OOP, "out of period" style pepsi machine!). In NJ there was this AWESOME theme park called Action Park which seemed to have been built from a lot of recycled steel girders and used tires. The local ER lovingly called it "Traction Park" and over the years that it was open, 7 people died there. But not on the bumper cars. Oooh, the smell of ozone as the car pole came out of contact with the electrified mesh overhead, and arced with little zaps and lightning bolts! They had bumper boats, and tanks that shot tennis balls.... and a dune buggy coarse.... It was a bad-@$$ place.

and OMG on the Mei hair ttext.. I had no idea you did freebies, so not playing to the host!

I am sad about not being able to share the rabbit (though I am glad its in my inventory!) and didnt realize that the link didnt work to the actual thing, my apologies. When I first discovered this contest a couple weeks ago, I went on a binge through old contest entries, collecting everything I could that was kids related as I tend to do a lot of kids themes...(thank you folks!) and then fell asleep before saving my link file. My laptop ran out of battery while I was asleep, and I lost the whole file. I went looking for it (it had been on sharecg or renderosity, no big deal I thought... not) I couldn't find anything but that. I didnt test downloading it again, mea culpa. Live and learn... I save after every file now!

Looking forward to seeing more entries

I hate to hear that rendercandy has shut down. There go 2 of my favorite texture sets! I guess I'll have to mark them MIA in the future...or at least until the Wayback link is no longer any good.

As to the converter I used for the Lightwave items, I knew I forgot something. The program is PoseRay and I've gone back and added the link to my original post. Sorry 'bout that. It just slipped my mind in my haste to post.

Darn, I subscribed to this thread and it unsubscribed me. No notices.

Music, are you sure you aren't punking us? The Charger and the DeSoto look amazing!

So... I'm currently without a credit card - somebody charged to it more in a single transaction that I do in two months. That means no March Madness for me for a week, more or less.

I could use some cheering up - and I could use some judges for this month's Challenge. Like my credit card, I don't have any judges right now...

Sorry to hear about the CC problem. There have been reports of that in here lately. I would suggest that you use PayPal rather than put your card number into the system here. The less places that info is exposed, the better.

I can't judge. I have a terrible time picking winners. Over at pfdlives.com they have weekly and monthly voting and sometimes they give us four votes...and I spend a lot of time and still can't narrow it down sometimes. :red:

Thanks. There is one freebie I used that's unrecognizable - Polly Gon is the driver of the pursuing car, diffuse set to black to make for a silhouette. Final image turned out darker than I'd hoped so she's barely visible at all. I'm not used to no postwork, which is one of the reasons I've not entered this contest before.

Really liking the entries so far. :)

    ENTRY ACCEPTED
