Wow! Daz3d is currently giving away RM Willow for Stephanie 4!
Always nice to have more skin textures!!!
...and by Rebelmommy nonetheless too!
SWEET!
yes me too
thanks for the steph 4 link :)
My Pleasure! :) Unlike Genesis +, these don't use special UVs so they work on any V4 character! ;)
Seems I already have Willow S4... it came with Stephanie 4 Pro Bundle I got on sale for $4 -$4 last month... so the whole thing was $0. :) Not so today but you're welcome to add the bundle to your cart to see. :)
Wow... I just saw this post by diomede in another thread!

Whew! I've added almost three full pages to my product library for free so far in the PC+ sale! Sweet! Free!!!
Not Carrara related, but a free dress for V5 and V5 is included in Carrara 8.5, so a little Carrara related:
http://www.daz3d.com/victoria-5-tank-dress
Good one, that was just added!
Along with:
http://www.daz3d.com/skateboarder-for-the-kids-4
That indicates needing the Kids toddler, but with autofit, etc. may not be critical.
Odd that I didn't see any of the Hexagon Promos.

ETA: They've also added some steampunky vehicles to the BYOB selection, as well as a 'walker' bot and one of the DL-flyer series. Old enough to be poser/Carrara friendly - 0.37c each you can't really go wrong...
VWD dynamic clothing is 25% off at that otheR site...

Some of the Carrara-specific animation products by GoFigure are in the realism sale. 70% off with purchase of qualifing item.

Being true, professional motion capture being retargeted for the appropriate Daz3d figure, I have really come to love using the GoFigure aniBlocks in animation creation.
► AniMating in Carrara is an aricle I've written way back in the old, old Carrara forum (and copied over to this one as best I could at the time) regarding how I use various aniBlocks to create motions one might not expect from the collection used. Basically I'm just looking for the motion of the body or limb.
Good times, I remember it well, times when you proudly use to put "No Postwork" on lots of your renders
Yay for indicating "no postwork." It really helps me to learn if I see renders straight out of the Carrara box - it is why I come to the Carrara forum. But also, yay for postwork! Love that Wednesday Howler tutorial series, for example. I hope the day never comes when no one proudly posts renders straight out of the box. Else, how will I learn what Carrara is capable of? Post worked images are supercalifragilisticespialidocious! That means good. So lets keep postworked images winning the Carrara challenges, like Headwax and Anatara, as long as we see the straight render. Love it all.
Its all good.
Yeah, I even went as far as to make a special badge that I could add to images, adding that badge being the only postwork done.
evilproducer got me onto the path of learning and applying post work. Although I've enjoyed editing the appearance of images long before I got into 3d and Carrara, I never had a clue of how to do it to video clips except what's available in a video editor, like Vegas. Since I didn't know how, I didn't want to use it. Learning Howler has been a helluva ride. Learning Visual Effects (post work on video clips) has taught me a LOT more about ways to use Howler, and then Howler taught me a LOT more about VFX, and so the circle goes ;)
In the "How to become a Daz3d Published Artist" pages of the day, they asked that we don't use postwork on our products promo images - or at least make sure to show some without post work.
I very rarely add postwork for exactly that reason. Most of the time I'm trying to show people what they get "out of the box" (so from that point of view, even adding characters or extra props / backgrounds etc kinda counts as postwork...). But if I can do an effect "in camera", that's another matter!
Was just teasing you buddy, but, yeah, I have to say that you came a long way...
To me, postwork was always an integral part of what I do, "do the best render you can and then take it even further in post" was always my thing, GIMP was always my primary weapon, but I have to tell you, lately I use Fusion for almost everything, it's an amazing tool everyone should try
Right, but it's also great to add people for a sense of scale - at least to an image or three ;)
I so totally prefer using post now! Glad you all turned me around! Glad I've started using Holwer. Although there are many other tools to use, the Dogwaffle way works just right for "me". I've always loved carrying around my sketchbook and scratching out drawings (usually of people) whenever I felt like it - even though I'd much rather be sculpting stone. When I got old enough to start going to beer parties people used to pay me to draw Jim Morrison for them. Not sure why always him. I could have done pretty much anyone ;) Oh... but Dogwaffle really has that hands-on feel about it that I love compared to anything else I've tried I'll have to update GIMP - I have it but rarely use it anymore.
For sure, but I *so* need to get the hang of realistic posing (or at least poses that *look good*). When you get notes back saying we really like it but... lose the people, you know there's something wrong! ;)
Speaking of post work... there's a lot of Ron's Brushes & Effects in the Fast Grab along with Predatron stuff. Silene
http://www.daz3d.com/fast-grab-3d-models/
Ron's brushes are some of the best I've seen. And I have a lot of brushes lol. I buy one or two every time they go on sale. Its for a good cause as well.
I just obtained/bought a few items from A crisp autumn drive won't leaf you wanting ... TangoAlpha has a new release for Carrara and DS... his other products are on sale too. Cool... I now have 2 more of his products.
Note also that if you buy a New Release that you can get some extreme discounts %80 on other Carrara content from GKDantes and others... I couldn't help but grab a few.
I also grabbed some cool stuff from FastGrab.
The 80% off legacy Thanksgiving sale includes PhilW's Carrara hair bundle. Use of any of these dynamic hairs would qualify for this month's challenge. The 80% off is if buy a new release.
http://www.daz3d.com/carrara-dynamic-hair-bundle
I'm sure the legacy sale includes more Carrara compatible and Carrara specific items, Worth checking out your wishlist.
In case you're not aware, Carrara itself is on sale again for a crazy cheap price for PC+ members.
$45 if it's your only item, but down to $22.75 if you're taking wider advantage of the current sales.
A good time to get the word out to anyone you know who might benefit. Judging from Cararra's position in the "Trending Now" and "Most Popular" store views, plenty of people are picking it up.
Thanks! That's awesome!
Just for everyone's information, today's sales are full of Carrara stuff. You have to buy a new release as the price of admission, but there are some excellent bargains to be had. Particularly in the Places & Things sections: lots of Howie Farkes, and more.
Anybody have the Dynamic Desire Hair? It's one of the products in the T-Day Weekend Sale.
I've never deeply understood how these things work, but my memory is that purchased dynamic hair can sometimes permit styling and other adjustments, and sometimes not.
A. Is this true, in general--that it could go either way?
B. Does Dynamic Desire Hair permit styling mods? (It's too poofy on top, for my guys, but otherwise looks like a really good product.)
...And, now that I'm on about this, how about Men Only? Could I, for instance, increase the number of follicles (assuming I'm prepared for the hit in rendering-time)? I like the styles, overall, but they're a bit too doll-hair for my taste.
Thanks for any clarifying advice on this.
X.
