I guess after several years, and a lot of fun, learning about converting files for use in DAZ Studio, from various sources so we can have the cars and trucks and bikes we love to render, has finally come to its end, how sad, but being the eternal optimist that I've always been, (eternal optimist?), Okay, maybe I'm liberal with the facts a little, but not with my car renders, lets give it another try here!

Yeah, there was a time for several years that this thread was very active on a daily basis.
Music has been missing a lot. Don't know what happened, never hear from him anymore.
I think maybe a lot of those who came in the thread have perhaps lost track of it. There are still problems with the eBots and not everyone just bookmarks and checks the My Bookmarks page, like I do. I gave up on the email notifications many months ago.

I know about the problems with the email notifications alright, but they have had that problem even before they switched the forum over to the new format.
It is actually much better with this new forum software, as lomng as you remember to book mark the thread using the star at the top, and make sure you have email notigications ticked in your account profile notofication preferences.
Sure it takes a little longer to set it all up, but once it is set up proeprly iot is fine.
I do get the email notifications for this thread anyway, but it doesn't appear to be automatic, besides, I don't need email notifications for PCI, as I visit that one often anyway!
...yeah RL has been doing a major tap dance on me for a while so haven't been very active with 3D in pretty much any capacity.
The other issue for me is so many good freebie models today tend to be in formats that don't translate well to Daz without a lot of "customising" in third party or modelling programmes (my modelling skills are still very subpar). Also seeing more and more free vehicles being released in .max format which is only useful if you have 3,400$ for the programme (or 1,400$ a year for the subscription version).

Your still having issues with Studio? I tend to have more issues with Windows 10!
Have trouble with both one may be related to the other although Studio dosen't really like my AMD video card at times
I understand, it kind of prefers Nvidia!

Yeah I may change the card back to an Nvidia I just couldn't resist the deal I got on the AMD its a SAPPHIRE NITRO Radeon R9 390 DirectX 12 100382NTOC-2L 8GB 512-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready Tri-X OC Version w/ backplate (UEFI) Video Card I had a discount and a GC that let me get for less than a $100
That ain't bad at all, I need to update my card, its a GEForce 9500 GT, which was fine 5 years ago, but its beginning to show its age, especially with Trainz, I have Tranz, A New Era, won't even open the game at all, because I need a card that is at least Direct X 11 compliant, I'm only good up to Direct X 10.
I have the same video card...GeForce 9500 GT. Only 8 cores, but it's good. For now. NO money, so no upgrade.

I'm still fighting with Studio and I-Ray it shows complete but looks like crap after three days
So I'm going to switch it over to Reality as it doesn't care what video card I'm using
That would be going back to using 3DL, kinda, I know, Reality is its own render engine, but I believe you would still be using 3DL textures and materials.
I know, and I understand, finally got something going today, hopefully I can continue to bring some money in for just a few more years til I can retire!

Managed to get this not happy with it and now Studio thinks it's Hexagon and crashes everytime I move something or make a change
I have an Nvidia card coming so I'll try more after it gets here Tuesday
Bet you can guess where the inspiration came from and may even remember it
