That's where I am. I still have a year on my original Daz+ membership, and it just isn't worth it to switch over for one month, which was all I was offered. Mathematically, I think Premier works out if you buy reasonably frequently, but speaking for myself, I have bought so much that I don't know how much more I need to buy. I think my big-buy days are more behind me than in front of me.

Similar here. I still have 5 months of Daz+ left. There's no way I'm trading it for a month of Premier. And, on top of that, like you, I find myself spending less and less. With the price increase, treating Daz+ like an unwanted stepsibling of Premier, and all the promotions having to factor that Premier members have a lot of tokens, I don't see myself buying as frequently as I used to.

I don't know Daz's business model, but as I said before, it feels like at some point they're going to price themselves out of the majority of casual spenders and hobbyists. But perhaps those who usually spend less than $100 a month aren't their customer base.

So, those of us who have been Premier members longest get the short end of the stick and only $10 worth of DOs instead of $20 worth. sad

    What'sthis $10? The usual coupon or there's another promo I didn't notice?

This Premier thing feels more like placing a bet than making a rational purchase decision...

    Agreed.

The odds are -somewhat- better than average, with the possibility of "big" sales for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, day-After, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day...  of course, IIRC New Year's went by without so much as a whimper last year, and whatever the "big" sale is might not be appealling once it arrives.

And anyone with time remaining on D+ still can't take it without nuking what they have left, as far as I'm aware.

I have almost 2 years of Daz+ left. They haven't offered any incentive that would make me start paying another $20 per month and give up 2 paid up years of Daz+.

Ugh, I'm buying things I don't really need but they're 92-97% off! I don't know how people are complaining about this sale. The discounts have been amazing and I'm just Daz+. I rarely use this kind of content but I couldn't pass on the prices of these two bundles!

With the cheapest debut item, something I like and will use at 68% off, 3 punches, 8 tokens, not Premier, no coupon.

I see why you are questioning your buying habits. You don't render men and yet you spent $23 on men you don't want, plus the debut new buy-in. Maybe it is time to stop looking at the % off and look at the $ instead. (Said as a reinforcement for what you already sensed yourself, not a criticism.) indecision

I could definitely use the debut item I bought and I want to experiment more with male content and expanding my repertoire. Walter especially looks like a really interesting character.. I have to start forcing myself to use all the content I already have though!

PAYS-4-ITSELF coupon is showing as not valid... Just upgraded from DAZ+ and had to go into the membership menus to do that and set a new card for billing, then when I tried to check out a cart with the PAYS-4-ITSELF coup, I keep getting Coupon Not Valid.   There doesn't appear to be any restriction on the DAZ Originals that can be used, but even with way over $20 in the cart, the offer doesn't work.  Is this happening to anyone else?

--- Solved this --- it turns out that not all DOs do qualify, but I was eventually able to get enough of them that did to trigger the deal.

The holiday discount system this year really is quite bad. The holiday has been busy, and I fell asleep and took an unplanned nap last night. Since I didn't check out before the store turned over, my discount has been reset to zero despite buying something two out of the last three days.

Emptied the cart - the sale isn't worthwhile at all without the extra discount. Bad for the consumer and especially bad for Daz - I probably would have made a large "holiday wrap-up" purchase, assuming a decent catch-up sale in the next day or two, but now I won't have time to restore the discount, so it won't be worthwhile to buy.

Shows how it's going I completely forgot to even claim the free item yesterday

I've no memory of what it or the 2.99 item was, but i'm guessing it wasn't something I cared massively for as I would have claimed it right away.

Did get something for free today from the wishlist I'd been waiting to get for like under $2 so will take that for free happily.

The "New Freebie Every Hour" promotion isn't working out so well, either.  I've only remembered to check twice so far and both times it was something I already had.  Would have been better served by 20% off gift cards coupon with no buy-in.  I can see the promo graphic now: close-up of a table.  Mostly empty glass of milk on the table next to a plate with cookie crumbs and a card saying: "20% Gift Cards. - Santa"

    Cue music.

    Happy shoppers smiling and dancing.

The "every hour" promos *always* upset some customers because the "Ooops. Missed it!" feels like such a slap in the face after adjusting ones schedule around a sale.

That might one of the reasons why people don't reach those prices. I NEVER managed to spend enough here, to gather 8 tokens. You have to spend serious money - for a hobbyist - to gather tokens, and when one isn't interested in G9 spending so much in a short span of time gets even more problematic.

    More (partially free) presents:

For free, I get dForce Bella Chic (SKU 61609, Base Price $ 22.95), while I would have to pay $ 2.99 (minus punch%) for M8 Wizard Island (SKU 85481, Base Price 21.95).

So, it seems that I kinda figured out the code behind the presents (for me, at last). Or not. I'll see the next days wink

So far, all hourly freebies are just the daily Christmas freebies we've already gotten the past few days. Unless Daz gives us something completely unexpected (eg. pro bundle), I'm expecting Daz to give those people who failed to receive the expired freebies a final chance.

The highest CP value, only buy Premiere during the big discount month (such as now), buy on the double token day and get eight tokens (which can last two weeks), if you remember correctly, you can also get tokens when you buy a membership, and Accumulate a large number of discount gift card points, and then go shopping on the right day.

#And calculate whether the product reaches the best price.

I wasted a lot of money to understand the rules of the game, Overall, the prices this month are not as good as October, but DO products are sometimes better.

Of course, you can also not worry so much, think about the Christmas spirit and enjoy the happiness (the happiness bought with money)

That's my general feeling too. I haven't been faithful in logging in every day this month, so there's a couple I've caught up on. Like this hour's tiles by Mattymanx (one of the PAs that I jump at because I trust their stuff). I'm actually grateful to have the second chance. And also thankful for the PAs participating.

So annoyed... After 22 days in a row, i was looking last night at which item I was going to buy for maintaining my punches... and fell a sleep. Woke up losing out on a free item from my wish list i really wanted and back at 0 on punches right before a potential big Christmas sale... I will have daz Christmas coal in my stocking.

....But when you break down your discounts, they almost always include a whole lot of tokens a lot of us don't have and punches that are missing from many people's equations. And possibly the buy in of a Debut New when people aren't interested in that.

Yeah, you can build some great deals when you stack, and I'm glad you're going well this sale, but not everyone has the tools to MAKE that stack.

For those keeping track, yesterday was my first non-WL freebie. I tossed in a few more DO's, and today it's back to a WL freebie, but not one of the ones I added.

Three punches from smallest possible daily purchases, in case that factors in somehow.

That's sounds good. I've managed to miss 10 days of the free giveaway promo - Didn't buy stuff. All the $2.99 items have been WL, but the price was too high for the items so I passed. I'd have bought in at $1.99 for those items - They were cheapies and have been on sale that price or lower!

Once I decided to participate, I was buying $1.10 GCs every 4 days. Yesterday, I bought the month of premier on the PAYS-FOR-ITSELF promo. I got 4 items with that. Took to long to shop for them. All of them had Lowest Recent Price between $3.19 and $3.21 per DazDeals and I ended up paying $1.03 for the lot - about 26 cents/item. To me, that's pretty good. So yesterday, I spent about $20 and this morning I got my first confirmed not-WL freebie. Are you ready? It's https://www.daz3d.com/dmr-moon-cult-dynamics . Yeah! Thanks Daz. Ok. Not on my WL, never knew it existed. But I like staves and wands, so it's all good. We'll see what tomorrow brings. laugh

Did the $1.10 gift card count as a punch?
  • davesodaveso Posts: 7,077

hourly free item, so far, I have them already.  Anyway, I bit on the Premier deal yesterday. Already grabbed a free bundle, Mateo, got a couple items free with the $20 off coupon, and spent the 10 off for 25 coupon. That leaves the DS $10 coupon. That didn;t take long? OH, I spent $20 and now have 8 tokens and 3 punches, so its a nice discount going there for sure, but I've now spent $50 in a day, which I wasn't going to do.

It does appear that's what's going on. I think it's a nice thing to give everyone that second chance to grab a freebie they might have missed. I'm checking periodically just in case I missed any.

Woot! Finally got offered a good bundle on LD!

https://www.daz3d.com/joan-9-hd-legacy-bundle -> not only is it a character I wanted (and have been stalking for months for a good price), I will definitely use the two other items in the bundle (hair and armor), albeit on different characters. Still had my $6 DO coupon unspent, so I tossed that at it, and that plus the punches brought the whole thing down to a whopping $1. And I paid for it with a gift card, so... 80 cents real money.

I've probably used up my mojo for the rest of the month, but even if so, it was mojo well spent. :) It's a good month when I can get three items out of that coupon, and these three are much higher-ticket than what I've ever managed previously.
