So nice to see you posting images again Scott.

So hard to keep them in character.  Sometimes they just have to have some fun.

In the book these guys spend so much time either struggling with self-doubt and insecurity, or else fighting their way through crisis and tragedy...so for this image, I was thinking of them either in terms of living in an alternate reality (like ours) where they were more self-assured and carefree, or else that these were the actors portraying my characters in a film, perhaps enjoying some free time together after shooting wrapped up.

Hi Scott! Nice to see you are around again!

Yes those guys just sometimes hop out of their assigned environment and start a life on their own. I have one character who just likes to dabble into every genre available.. has a great career as actor ahead of him now...laugh

Hey everybody...long time no art! Here's one I've actually been working on for months...since the last time I posted here, in fact, although this is the first time I've shared it. Definitely the biggest and most challenging 3D project I've worked on (takes a while to fully render, too...about two whole days). No postwork...all the effects (smoke, fog, lightning, tears, blood/bruises, dirt, body hair, etc.) were done in Daz Studio, thanks to the help of fine products by Sickleyield, smay, SimonWM, Orestes, V3Digitimes, Exnem, ThePhilosopher, and MindVision G.D.S.

The character's name is Geanna (she's a customized Victoria 6 HD). She belongs to the same world as most of the other characters posted here (Daran, Mirian, Tse Lien, Elivia, Maaku, Bromodan) but earlier in time...to them, she's a historical figure of some importance. At the moment, she's going through a painful and pivotal episode in her life...and her actions from this point forward will reverberate throughout the Kingdom of Lorania. More on that when I post the final version to the Gallery.

I use Depth of Field in my renders so often that it's sort of become a crutch...I decided to do this one without, and to use lighting, composition, and fog rather than DOF to focus the viewer's eye.

Not sure I'm quite ready to call this one "done." It probably could use some postwork...or else some lighting tweaks...to make everything "pop" a bit more. Tough to balance aesthetics and realism...fog tends to make everything look a bit dull. What do you think? Feedback and suggestions welcome.

    Title: This Is My Fight.

  • The energy ball seems like it would be better handled with a image editor like Photoshop/GIMP but otherwise the image looks good overall.

Looks very nice, Scott. If you really want suggestions, I am going to assume that the overall look is what you were striving for, and just offer a couple of perhaps obvious suggestions. There is a light spot under her right eye seemingly associated with that errant hair strand. I'd blow that away, since it is mildly distracting. Secondly, there are a couple of places (left arm and left cheek) where the dirt seems a little unnatural and could use a little blending/smudging. Overall, I like it.
