Finally found him; someone else remarked that he would probably be in the Poser Content section.
So I went through the other workspaces and found the Poser Format section in the SelfServe workspace.
Hi guys,
My DazStudio4.9 keeps quitting unexpectedly on (spot)render, when I look in my log it says this:
WARNING: /src/sdksource/cloud/dzcloudtasknotifier.cpp(178): peer performed orderly shutdown errno=0
A lot of people are experencing a similar problem, but it seems they're all experiencing it on a Windows OS; and I did just buy a new computer and freshly transfered my library to the new device.
Maybe I did something wrong myself?
Should I post my log.txt on here? Cause I don't know what any of it means.
Thanks so much for taking the time to read this and crossing my fingers anyone will be able to advise.
Post the past like 100 lines of the log here and I might figure something out. Is that Iray or 3Delight spot rendering?
Hi Totte,
Thanks for your fast answer!
I'm assuming it's iray spotrendering, i've never really used 3Delight (i'm quite the newb)
Does this log help?
Hello, I guess you have to look in console.app (in /Applications/Utilities) and look for DAZ Studio crash log.
Click (Show list) in the leftmost icon. Under "user diagnistic reports" you will find it. Put the first 100 lines here (the crash log is reversed). The DAZ log didnt say anyting so I suspect an Iray crash.
Sorry I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, so when you said "the crash log is reversed" I started doubting whether you'd need to see the top or bottom 100 or so lines.
Please find both attached, thanks so much for looking in to this.
OK, it crashed, in thread 22 (which I suspect is an Iray render worker)
But to be sure I would like to see that thread ( you can see it in the log, just paste in that section it looks like this (but says thread 22)
/ Totte
Oh yeah, it says crashed!! :) (I dont know why that makes me happy but it does)

Try to disable Optix Prime Accelration in the Advanced renderr settings.
It might help, but as it crashes inside Iray, latest drivers and Cuda is always a good start too.
Thank you, Totte.
The CUDA update is indeed what was missing. Silly me.
Thank you so much for helping a newb out, friend. :)
Oh dear, I think I rejoiced too soon.
I finally got it working yesterday updating all the drivers to their OSX 10.11.4 equivalent; then (foolishly, I guess) updated the OS to 10.11.4.
Now when I use my "OSX Default Graphics Driver" (which is what I used yesterday when it finally worked) DazStudio can't seem to locate my GPU (pic1).
All the drivers are up to date (pic2 & 3) and my GPU is definitely still there (pic4).
The weird thing is when I switch to "NVIDIA Web Driver" it does recognize the GPU but the (spot)render crashes are back. With the exact same crash report as posted two comments above (but on a different thread).
For the sake of giving a full step-by-step I have had to restart the computer with the OPT+CMD+R+P for three chimes thingy because of a grey screen of death issue, ever since the OS update.
I'm at a loss now, I don't even know what to google for at this stage. Have you ever heard of the GPU disappearing from the Advanced Render Settings?
Thanks so much for your input, Totte. It's immensely appreciated.
The default driver usually is way to old for Cuda, and what you experience is probably a driver releated crash.
I always wait on OS X upgrades until I know nVidia has released a working driver. I had severe crashing some months back until they fixed it. Welcome to the world of Driver Hell.
Is there a WebDriver for 11.4 out yet? I haven't dared to upgrade. The WebDriver is usually bound to a specific OS version (security updates usually change the OS version too)
/ Totte
There are two Nvidia web drivers out for 10.11.4 but (obviously) I don't recommend them (EDIT: I mean I don't recommend the OS update). Ugh, why oh why did I update my OS...
Well so I'm on the Nvidia Driver now, and I can manage to render only with Optix disabled, which just makes it painfully slow.
So what can I do? Just wait? Until when? :((
Wait for nVidia to fix it.... but don't hold your breath.
You can try to find a bug report form on the nVidia website and report the crash with Optix on TitanX on Mac OS X.
Alright, I'll try those and keep you posted if I get a response.
Thanks, Totte!
Okay, so I've talked to Apple. They were super friendly, as always, but couldn't really help.
I'm still talking to DAZ, they're suggesting workarounds that don't seem to work.
And I've just talked to NVIDIA as well, who simply blew me off saying the Titan X is not supported on Mac. So how come so many people buy them together? And why was it working "fine" in 10.11.3; and no longer on 10.11.4? I call BS.
EDIT: Oh this has to do with that EFI thing the seller was babbling about, doesn't it?
I decided I wanted an easy way to have all the shoes in my G2F -> Clothing section findable, so I made a subfolder called Shoes in the G2F area of the content library and started copying the duf and png's into it. Then it occured to me, there might be a better way of doing this, rather than having mutliple copies of the files on the hardrive (though they're small). Would aliases work in this? Is this just a dumb way to do it and I should seek some nartive to Daz solution?
Aliases would work, as would installing with Connect and using mutliple .djl links, as would doing the whole thing in categories.
I hadn't seen this post before - it's been awhile since I checked the forums - thank you so much for reccomending the program you wrote! Can''t wait to try it out.
I'm very sorry to hear about Jaderail - from what I saw of the PDF document he wrote, his program is brilliant.
All the best
Paul
PS - Having great fun exploring Daz . . . I really appreciate all your help!
Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone can help me with the procedure for installing web-based content into Daz 3D. I've been trying to create the look of water by following the "Water Shader Tutorial for Daz Studio Iray" by Shibashake. She begins by creating a plane primitive and adding a water shader to it (that part I can manage :-). To add waves on the surface, she loads a "water normal map" into the "normal map" parameter of the plane. I searched online for "water normal maps" as she suggests, and found dozens of them. The challenge is that I haven't a clue how to load one into the surfaces tab of Daz 3D Studio. I tried dragging one from my desktop into Daz, but that didn't work; I'm sure there's a method I haven't found yet in my readings. Thanks in advance if anyone knows and wouldn't mind explaining what the procedure is!
I had something gobbling up hard drive space earlier today-- 60gigs in minutes ...run away temp file or log or something...I quickly killed every program I had running..Daz was one of them.
As soon as I kileed lots of stuff, the available space shot back up...
Anyone seen Daz doing this before?
Hello to everybody here i dont know if is the right place to share that but if i doing it wrong i'm sorry.I want to share a little from my knowledge about macs.
Since El Capitan Apple desided to hide the user library. So if anyone have problem to find it there are 2 nice utilities.
The first one is "find any file" (http://apps.tempel.org/FindAnyFile/ ) I using it for a long time and can find so easily any folder you want
and the second is the " tinker tool" which have an option among others to unhide hidden folders.(http://www.bresink.com/osx/TinkerTool.html )
It's also the "Onyx" but it have so many options and is very powerful for advanced users.
Thank you and sorry...
I just use onyx's ability to make the library visable.
You can also just hold the option key and click on the "Go" menu. The Library folder shows up in the menu with option pressed.
Does anyone else find drag and drop just stops working?
I was trying dragging items into the genx window, and it worked the first time...then when I try it, the green + vanishes and instead I'm just drawing a selection box around the items in the content library.
Don't install any third party apps for something as mundane as that. Thor gave the right answer here.
Hello.Reply to Thor.
I dont like this way for me. i prefer lot more these applications i have and most the find any file. Much better.
Daz I found does not recognize aliases, at least not folder aliases.
I don't use Connect.
Anyone familiar with Owlet? It's a renderer or someting?
