That's a very good idea actually, and maybe to NVidia, too. Thanks for the screenshot as well!
Yes, that was it: DAZ Central. OK, thanks for the info.
Does anyone have a good link for NVidia, where comments might be posted, asking the company to work something out with Apple?
Hi guys, today I'm trying to reinstall Daz on Mac , I downloaded DIM 1.4,0,35 Mac64, I logged in and downloaded essentials, the problem is it never starts to install, after waiting 10 minutes nothing happens, any idea what could be happening. Thanks in advance
Do you have "Install after download" checked at the bottom of the "Ready to Download" tab?
I have tried the two ways, with and without it checked. And nothing, I have even closed and reopened DIM and tried to run only Daz Studio Installation and nothing happens
Here's a screenshot
Are you running DIM from a user account that is allowed to sudo (Admin the computer is wht Apple calls it). If not, DIM will not be able to show the authentication dialog and you will "hang forever waiting".
Yes, I'm the Admin, and never before had this problem. Looking at the log file in DIM it says the message on the attachement, in the past you guys helped me to solve a similar problem by changing folder privileges and making myself the owner, but it was with the app installed and opened.
That's strange then. The Error suggests that some downloaded data has been corrupt. Have you tried to remove the downloaded files in DIM and redownload them?
Do you have the "delete after install" set or nonset?
Absolutely strange. I tried like I used to do in the past to check install after download, seeing the installation was getting stuck, deleted and downloaded again with install after download unchecked. That would give me the option to check, delete after install. I've deleted and reinstalled completly fresh even DIM, and still nothing
Which macOS Version?
Is this just a fresh install of DS or a fresh install if macOS under it? I ask as if you updated macOS to 10.15.3+ and had DS installed before, the 10.15.3 osx installer changes the privs on some folders in ~/Library, and if those folders are there and changed, DIM might fail as I think it will create those folders with the correct privs, but if the priv chains are wrong, based on previous privs and current privs. I did a clean install on a VM running 10.15.4 not long ago and that worked well, but that was an all clean install...
I'm running Catalina 10.15.5 updated. I deleted Daz one week ago (I do it regularly because I use this computer as backup for work). When I delete Daz, I run DIM, then I uninstall DIM, then from Library - Applications Support delete Daz folder, and from SSD Shared, I delete Daz, with no problems in the past until today
I installed CleanmyMac and made a Smart Scann, after that I can install Daz products again, you were right, maybe some privileges were changed. Thanks for your help¡
Personally I would get rid of CleanMyMac as it tends to damage the system.
Totte or anyone reading this and can help me, I bought a new laptop a week ago and tried to use that computer as my primary computer. The problem is that I wiped out my Daz studio hard drive as it was Mac formatted and the new laptop was a PC. It didn't turn out that well so I went back to the Mac. So I used your little program to reinstall my objects on to the hard drive now I can't get Genesis 8 Female or male come out without having duplication errors and other problems, I looked at the log but it was confusing as all get out and don't know how to get it right without Formatting and trying again. Secondly does anyone know the directory that I will have to put the facegen morphs so that they will show up and I can use them. I can get the female morphs to show up but when I place the male morphs on the male equivalent the male morphs don't show up? Thanks to anyone that can help I really appreciate it.

You can zip your log.txt and upload it here btw, or export to PDF and upload it.
- Did you wipe the content disk but kept the DAZ 3D stuff in ~/Library?
- When you did reinstall, did you put the DS content at the same location (same drive name / path name) as you had before?
- Were you loading through the content library or smart content?
Trying to figure out if what happens is that the stuff is installed on at the new locataion, but the old location is also still in the CMS, so it gets confused.
Have you tried to reset the CMS and reimport metadata?
Totte the link is to my Log file. It's a pdf file I placed in Mega.nz and just uploaded the link
These shows two paths, one fullpath and one saying it cannot find G3F inside /data, whoch says that it's either not there or the content library is not reachable.
Could not resolve : "/Volumes/Di2/Onlinestore/DTG/BlissG8/BlissDoll.duf"
Could not resolve : "/data/DAZ 3D/Genesis 3/Female/Genesis8Female.dsf"
Auto Face Enhancer seemd to be in a lot of the error messages too.
I don't see DAZ Studio there. Shouldn't that be in the list? Does it not show up?
What's happening with Alsoft's DiskWarrior and Apple? I use DW to rebuild the Disk Catalogues. For the latest version of DW, Alsoft says it can recognize APFS disks but it cannot rebuild them. And its been this way for a horrendously long time. That's one of the reasons I stuck with Sierra, waiting for this to be resolved. Does Apple not want to share information about APFS disks with Alsoft? I read something like this about the disagreement Apple has with nVidia: that Apple wants the drivers placed someplace other than nVidia is willing to place them, and Apple does not want to reveal some of its specs concerning the APFS disks.
Have you updated DW?
Okay, I deleted all mention of both Auto Face Enhacer and Bliss doll but my Genesis 8 female still has problems when I load her. Here is the photo of what she looks like and here is the log filehttps://mega.nz/file/iotC3YCb#sgeNSi2NCqTyWgAICCLATsgPT6h6MLrhrIr6Q_7KKho
Looks like you fail to load a bunch of morphs.
Did you install content to the same content library?
Yes all my content was install on a disk called Daz and I used rendoinstall to install it
Did you install the default content with DIM?
So there is no any solution to this Iray rendering issue? A couple days ago I also installed the latest DAZ 4.12.1.117 version in my Mac Pro (Early 2008) and found out that frigging Iray-rendering not working anymore! In my previous version (4.10) Iray-rendering worked like a charm (Yes, with CPU only, but still...), but now the only what I get is alert message: "Unable to render. No renderer available". What I also have noticed is that when every time I open DAZ, the check marks disappeared from NVIDIA Iray-rendering CPU-boxes. So, in the other words, there must be some sort bug(s) in that 4.12.1.117 version (or perhaps I just missed something important).
Mac Pro 2008 (2x 3,2 GHz) / 20 GB RAM / OS X 10.10 (Yosemite) / NVIDIA Geforce GTX 980 4G
(PS. I also have Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit installed in to that MAC)
No, that is no Issue, it is intentional by nVidia due to the Apple-nVidia almost 10 years grudge. Submit a DAZ Support ticket and request to download DS 4.12.0.86
CPU Rendering should work, must be something else, can be 10.10 that is the issue, I'm not sure where to find the minimum osx version for Iray.
